Speedy deletion nomination of Lakewood football[edit]

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Lakewood football for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

@Meeanaya Hi, I'd like to ask if you wouldn't mind looking at a page that was delted called "Lakewood Lancers," and please tell me what is missing or wrong with it that it continues to be deleted? It's a page merely sharing the history of a team, and I sent an email earlier regarding the common use of copyright material. All of the material including text and images is owned by me, so it has been donated for use here, but no one has replied to my email about the release. I would appreciate your time. Thanks. Lakewood Lancers[edit]
Thanks for creating the article Lakewood Lancers. Unfortunately, it has a few issues as it presently exists:
- First, we require all Wikipedia articles to include evidence of "notability." Specifically, the team must have "received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject," and you must cite this coverage in the article. For more detail on what this means, see WP:GNG.
- Additionally, the article contains text that appears to have been copied from [1]. If you have the rights to this text, you'll need to formally let Wikipedia use it (see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for how to do this). Otherwise, we unfortunately can't use that text on Wikipedia for legal reasons.
