A question about the review process[edit]

Do you check for copyright issues as part of your review?

Here is why I am asking:

Oops. Replied on your talk page. Blythwood (talk) 19:23, 10 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Blythwood, belated thanks for your help with William Henry Lyttelton (1820–1884). Much to my dissatisfaction, another user has now proposed that the article be deleted... Is there anything that can be done? ViennaUK (talk) 07:09, 11 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Hubert Brasier[edit]

The article Hubert Brasier has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Could be agreement he is not notable, see talk.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DYK for Philip May[edit]

On 23 July 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Philip May, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the British Prime Minister Theresa May was introduced to her future husband Philip by Benazir Bhutto? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Philip May. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Philip May), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Fairbank[edit]

Hi Blythwood, Today I met the son of Alfred_Fairbank. He is very old and had not heard of wikipedia before. I explained that his father had a wikipedia page, and printed it out for him to read. He was very impressed. Thank you for submitting the article. Jon —Preceding undated comment added 21:58, 22 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Jjmm1985: - wow, that's so lovely to hear! I didn't know he had children as his obituary didn't mention it. Thanks for letting me know! Blythwood (talk) 23:28, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for going over the new page and spotting that error with the titles. My sources are all for the capital D except for ODNB. I expect that's how she spelled it or her books spelled it. The hymn books have her as Maria De Fleury or Maria DeFleury, so I've done a "redirect" for that. I've put the big Ds back for now as we had a mixture. I like your last sentence. Rounds it off very well. Cordially, Brian Bmcln1 (talk) 23:17, 29 July 2016 (UTC) P.S. British Library capitalizes whole surnames, so no help from there.[reply]

  • @Bmcln1: OK, fine, thanks. Incidentally, was just checking this and the John Rylands in the article can't be the nineteenth-century John Rylands of John Rylands Library fame, so that should probably be clarified and the link removed. Blythwood (talk) 23:23, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
    • Well spotted again. Maria's pal was John Ryland with no "s". Cheers Bmcln1 (talk) 23:31, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
      • @Bmcln1: - great, thanks. Have been inside it and so I suddenly thought "Wait - it was built by his widow? But surely that's late Victorian...?" Blythwood (talk) 23:43, 29 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
