Welcome!

Hello, Bobbybobbie, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as DJ Lil Boy, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. A tag has been placed on DJ Lil Boy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. ttonyb (talk) 22:53, 21 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Magic Sam (cocktail) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable drink. The so-called references make it clear that this is a drink invented by some random Italian bartender named Sam and that it is not known outside of the bar where he works.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on DJ Montay, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement of http://www.djmontay.com/aboutmontay/. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

  • It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Hi Bobbybobbie,
I am Shirt58 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log).
I have moved that deleted article (in Wikipedia jargon, "userfied") into your personal writing area (in Wikipedia jargon, "userspace").
You can view it here.
Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this. Peter in AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 09:26, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Shirt58, I assume you have read the previous discussion in regards to the page, are you able to give me some input on how to improve the page? The artist clearly satisfies the Wikipedia:Notability (music) criteria; however, it was shut down without any explanation, other than (what I assume) that it was deleted on precedent. The article N4 (record producers) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

None of the sources mention the subject of this article. Notability is not inherited the groups they produce may have sold many records but without sources that have in-depth coverage of this company notabilty is not proved.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

The article DJ Montay has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This producer/songwriter is credited as being the songwriter of a Grammy award-winning song and as such meets WP:NMUSIC and may be notable, but unfortunately none of the sources meet WP:GNG conditions as there is no significant coverage that addresses the topic directly and in detail. The article creator shows here understands what is necessary to show notability. I have looked on the web and can sadly find no extra sources that would help. it would be great if this PROD were removed after sources are added to avoid a long WP:AFD discussion.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You clearly didn't do any research. Further references have been added. Bobbybobbie (talk) 14:39, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations! I have checked the sources that you have added and they definitely help to prove the notability. This is all that is required pointless bludgeoning is a time waster and considered as disruptive. Looking for and finding these references was a good exercise for you I think and should help you improve your skills on Wikipedia. Happy editing. Domdeparis (talk) 15:28, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It wasn't a time waster at all. I really enjoyed the discussions, and you (hopefully) learned about the topic of music.
P.S. I know you had high hopes of striking "while the iron is hot", but no. As DJ Khaled would so eloquently say, "You played yourself." Bobbybobbie (talk) 15:44, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry but you misunderstood the striking whilst the iron is hot metaphor. The idea was to get you on board quickly and make sure that you really understood and were able to apply the different policies and guidelines and I am delighted to see that it worked. It's just a shame that everyone had to spend such a lot of energy in getting the message through. But all's well that ends well. The aim of New Pages Patrolling is to make sure that the articles on WP are up to scratch, tag them for improvement or to improve them time permitting or nominate them for deletion and now DJ Montay is because of the work you did on it after a little gentle nudging from me (well done you!) and now you have a solid base from which you can edit from in the future. I think that it is possible that you will become a useful contributor to Wikipedia. So once again happy editing! Domdeparis (talk) 16:31, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You are changing your trajectory again... I'm going to name you "yo-yo". Bobbybobbie (talk) 17:10, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That's very sweet of you to give me a nickname, if I find an appropriate one for for you I'll let you know but in terms of trajectory you might have missed this diff where I wrote
"I don't want to Afd it because there is probably a good chance that he is notable, Bobby has shown no willingness to add extra sources himself as a show of good faith so a PROD seems to be the soft option that may be fruitful."
and lo and behold the PROD brought forth fruit! The sources were added and everyone is happy! You're happy because the article won't need to be deleted, the admin are happy because they don't have to block you, I'm happy because I believe I've been useful in helping you understand a bit about editing, so it's a win-win situation. Anyway I suggest leaving it at that and moving on to something else, that's what I'm doing as I've got tons of pages to review. Happy editing! Domdeparis (talk) 17:24, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We never really got to the topic of this page, so no. You missed again.Bobbybobbie (talk) 17:39, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You did the same thing on the other page, so why would it change my action this time? Another harebrained idea... Bobbybobbie (talk) 17:48, 6 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do let it lie now

[edit]

Hey Bobby I really think you should drop it now. You can't go around accusing people of being "corrupt" that's just ridiculous especially when it's an admin. You're taking this far too seriously really. You're heading for a block if you're not careful. Take a break please. Domdeparis (talk) 13:34, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
