Hi, BongoMedia, I have declined your request for speedy deletion of this article as a test page. It is clearly a serious article, other editors have worked on it and the references appear to show notability. If you still wish to have it deleted, you can open up a discussion at Articles for deletion where deletion can be discussed and a community consensus reached. Thanks, Baffle gab1978 (talk) 19:45, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Ultimate Rally, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 19:21, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The article The Ultimate Rally has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreleased film, little coverage, no evidence of notability yet. Fails NFO

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. Thank you. clpo13(talk) 23:05, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Email received from user:

Ok so totally confused now. Why are you blocking me?
Why did you delete The Ultimate Rally movie? It has been released here is proof https://vimeo.com/ondemand/theultimaterally
I did not put that link because of fear of it being considered as publicity.
I have donated money to you today, and find this very unfair that this work can not be on wikipedia while other films are present.
Jose (phone number removed)
José, first of all email is used for private issues. Everything else must be discussed publicly in talk pages. I (Alexf) did not block you. Someone else did. The account was blocked due to username violations. Now you are basically saying it is the same as the movie star and director, so you are confirming a suspected conflict of interest. What I did (Alexf) was to propose the article for deletion (it is not yet deleted as of this writing as it goes through the Proposed deletion process). As described and sourced, it fails notability for films under NFILM and specifically NFO.
That you have donated to Wikipedia as you mention is laudable as the Foundation needs support. This is completely unrelated to the issue at hand. We (editors and admins) are volunteers and have no relation whatsoever to the Foundation that runs Wikipedia, or its funding.
Lastly, your comment that other articles on similar subjects exist is invalid and has no place in a deletion discussion in Wikipedia. It seems to me you are not well versed on Wikipedia's goals and policies, even though you seem to have been here for some time. I would suggest, if you have any questions about how Wikipedia works, to ask at the Tea House. -- Alexf(talk) 23:36, 23 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for email. Since it was about a Wikipedia matter, I'm replying here, see Alexf's comment above. If you post an article it will be assessed as it stands. If you don't want that to happen, you should write it as a draft. User pages are for you to write about your activities on Wikipedia, and are not for promotion. I deleted your article because

  • it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the organisation claims or interviewing its management.
  • it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced or self-sourced claims presented as fact include: unique... the real truth... putting everything on the line... first true outlaw race...— it's a press release, not an article.
  • the article was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. The copied site was marked Copyright © 1990-2018 IMDb.com, Inc.. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial but there is no indication that the copied site allows free use. Text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient. But in any case the copyrighted text is far too promotional to be useful for Wikipedia's purposes, so there would not be any point in your jumping through all the hoops that are required.
  • We Bongo Media work for LMV Films and Planet Ultimate Rally and have the right to post and edit The Ultimate Rally. You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. Since you work directly or indirectly for the organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, since you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:BongoMedia. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=BongoMedia|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure.
  • Not fair that other films are on here.— The fact that other articles have not been deleted doesn't help you, either they met the criteria or should be deleted as well. See other stuff exists.
  • We have made donations here.— unfortunately that doesn't buy you the right to spam here.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read this important guidance. You must also reply to the COI request above

It seems to be that the blocking admin above didn't notice that all your articles were promoting the same event and that you were editing as a paid editor without declaring the fact on your user page. I'm therefore modifying the block so that you cannot create a new account with asking to be unblocked and giving undertakings regarding future editing.
