Wikipedia's description of notability

[edit]

I copied this from an answer an editor provided at Teahouse: "The first thing you're going to need to do is assess whether the person who want to write about is someone who is going to be considered Wikipedia notable. You can find out a little more about this here and here. This is important because if you're unable to clearly establish that the subject of the article is Wikipedia notable as explained here. So, self-assess the Wikipedia notability of the person you want to write about by looking for at least two or three examples of significant coverage about them in independent and secondary reliable sources (as defined by Wikipedia)." Wikipedia advises against autobiography (see WP:AUTO) but does not forbid. David notMD (talk) 11:01, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

As a result, there are articles about murderers and K-pop celebrities, but not about many billionaires despite their corporate successes and charities. David notMD (talk) 13:48, 23 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
