[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Cancer Care Ontario has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): https://twitter.com/CancerCare_ON. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a blog, forum, free web hosting service, fansite, or similar site (see 'Links to avoid', #11), then please check the information on the external site thoroughly. Note that such sites should probably not be linked to if they contain information that is in violation of the creator's copyright (see Linking to copyrighted works), or they are not written by a recognised, reliable source. Linking to sites that you are involved with is also strongly discouraged (see conflict of interest).
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 16:22, 28 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Gerry Livingston requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I have made changes to the page to present the information from a more neutral point of view. The layout and tone of this page has been modelled after pages for similar organisations in this industry, notably DB Schenker and History of Maersk. Please reconsider this page for inclusion.BrettTremblay (talk) 13:14, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ktr101,

Livingston International is a notable entity on many grounds, including the fact that it administers the Registrar of Imported Vehicles on behalf of Transport Canada and so is a notable organisation for the many people who import cars into Canada each year (plus reference is made to Livingston on the RIV page so this page will complement the information provided there). Livingston is further notable since, as the largest customs broker in Canada and one of the top five in the U.S., it is as large as or larger than most of the companies in the List of companies of Canada. Nearly every organisation who regularly ships goods over the Canada/US border (importers, exporters, truckers, retailers, etc.) will be aware of Livingston, even if they are not a client, so the organisation would be well known by the employees of these companies.

Livingston is one of only nine companies selected by U.S. Customs and Border Protection for inclusion in its Simplified Entry Pilot program, which is designed to test the Automated Commercial Environment entry capability (an aspect of national security). The other participants are A.N. Deringer, Inc., Expeditors International, FedEx Trade Networks, FH Kaysing, Janel Group of New York, Kuehne + Nagel, Page & Jones, Inc., and United Parcel Service. Plus, Livingston is a peer company to other notable firms with presences in the encyclopedia, including DB Schenker and Maersk.

As an organisation with a significant history of acquisitions, Livingston is further notable since it's history includes many of the companies that significantly contributed to the development of the customs brokerage and logistics industries in Canada and the United States (see Customs broking and Third-party logistics). The history of Livingston, which is the primary focus of this page, includes many names of organisations that are notable in their own right (their region, industry, etc -- such as the recently acquired Hipage Company which is a major player in the maritime industry of Virginia).

In creating this page I spent a long time reviewing the guidelines on organizations and companies and have made many changes to the page to ensure that there are ample citations and references to demonstrate the importance of Livingston and why it deserves to be included. Furthermore, the initial user test page for this article was prepared by a different user. I took it upon myself to complete and correct the content that Dareid25 had intended to post. The content on this page is factual (which an encyclopedia should be) and free of marketing (for example, I focused more on the history than on the services provided in order to keep this suitable for an encyclopedia and not have it look like an online ad for what Livingston offers).

Livingston is certainly a notable company and I request again that this page be accepted into the encyclopedia. BrettTremblay (talk) 20:32, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Also, in case you missed it, the examples that I've mentioned here are citations 6, 20 and 21 on the page. BrettTremblay (talk) 20:42, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Livingston International

[edit]

Thanks. I removed a couple of categories as unnecessary duplication (it doesn't need to be in both Category:Logistics companies and Category:Logistics companies of the United States at the same time, frex), but mostly you did a good job :-) Bearcat (talk) 22:58, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again, Bearcat. We are logistics company in Canada, though, and there's no category for that. Can I add "Logistics companies" back but remove "Transport and distribution companies" since there's a US and Canadian subcategory for this one?BrettTremblay (talk) 23:56, 11 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The appropriate solution in this case would be to create Category:Logistics companies of Canada; the fact that a specific category doesn't already exist for Canada doesn't make it useful to double up a category that's already redundant. Bearcat (talk) 00:06, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

. Fantastic idea, Bearcat. I didn't know I could create a category. I will get started and see how much I can learn and do. BrettTremblay (talk) 12:49, 13 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again, Bearcat, You beat me to it and have already created and populated the new category.BrettTremblay (talk) 18:23, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:LivingstonInternationalLogo forWikipediaupload.gif listed for deletion

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:LivingstonInternationalLogo forWikipediaupload.gif, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 19:01, 13 July 2013 (UTC) I was under the impression this was already done so that the png file was the only image file for Livingston. Please go ahead and make that change.BrettTremblay (talk) 12:42, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Pack A.D.

[edit]

Altough your contribution on The Pack A.D. is definitely true, it is also a copyright violation from the site you gave as reference, because you've copy-pasted every single word in that sentence. Edoderoo (talk) 22:20, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
