Infobox dates

[edit]

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions was not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats, by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Mattythewhite (talk) 12:28, 6 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Malik Taylor (American football), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. Ways to improve Delontae Scott

Hello, Brosenow,

Thank you for creating Delontae Scott.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Doesn't meet WP:NGRIDIRON at the moment and I think the page needs a couple more reliable sources before it meets WP:GNG.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Willsome429}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Hello, Brosenow,

Thank you for creating Zack Johnson (American football).

Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 23:41, 10 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

He was a three time FCS champ. I thought that would meet the guidelines Brosenow (talk) 00:42, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, what work do you consider it needing to be published Brosenow (talk) 00:47, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply. Page Curation messages are automatic, so I don't wind up watching talk pages. If you ever need to ask a reviewer a question again, please use the {{re|username}} code so they get a ping. You're not the first to think that being an FCS champ is enough, and I'm sure you won't be the last. The tricky part about that is that the backup punter is also technically an FCS champion while he contributed almost nothing to the team. WP:NCOLLATH #4 (notability guideline for college athletes) says: "Have won multiple NCAA Division I national championships as an individual in an individual sport." (emphasis mine) Johnson won a D1 championship as a member of a team. He also hasn't played in any of the leagues listed as presumed notable in WP:NGRIDIRON (the American football notability guideline). That means that Johnson would have to meet WP:GNG (the general notability guideline). To do that, he needs multiple independent, reliable sources that show significant coverage. Local sources don't count because they're routine coverage, so right now the Yahoo one is the only one that demonstrates notability. Three or four more of those type of sources and he should meet GNG. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 00:32, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

thank you so much for the help Brosenow (talk) 03:12, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Willsome429: last question. Does being a two time FCS all American count or is that similar to the national champ situation Brosenow (talk) 03:18, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No. Since FCS is a lower level of competition, it’s not regarded as a notable honor. However, if a player wins one of the awards listed in the “Division 1 FCS” section of Template:College football award navbox, then the player will most likely meet WP:NCOLLATH. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 14:02, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Willsime429: alright I should probably put it in drafts Incase he makes the team. How do I do that? Brosenow (talk) 16:03, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Moving to drafts is reserved for New Page Patrollers in most cases. I can do that for you real quick so you can develop it further. Willsome429 (say hey or see my edits!) 23:02, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Cassiopeia(talk) 01:08, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Brosenow, Good day. Pls note that a mixed martial arts fighter needs to have at least 3 fights under tier one promotor (UFC or Invicta) to meet the WP:MMABIO notability requirement. At current, Jaynes has only 1 fight under UFC. Pls wait until Jayes have fought 3 fights in UFC then resubmit the draft page (including all the 3 fights info supported by WP:Secondary sources (newspaper or MMA sites ; no tapology/sherdog/UFC database). Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:15, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright I will. I submitted it before I read this my apologies Brosenow (talk) 01:39, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Would his Bellator fight count as one? Brosenow (talk) 01:41, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Brosenow, Bellator Fighting Championships is one of the top tier from 2009 to 2015. So if a MMA fighter fought during those year then their fought can be counted as one of the 3 fights needed. Example 3 fights in Bellator (2009-2015) or 2 fights in Bellor (2009 - 2015) and 1 fight in UFC that would counts as total 3 fights in top tier. Let me know if anything else I could help. Do note the draft will stay in Wikipedia for 6 months before deleted. So you might want to save the body text in "note" / "notepage" (not words) so you dont need to recreate the content again. Let me know if anything else I could help. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 02:02, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes he fought in 2014. That’s one ufc and one Bellator. So after his next UFC fight I should publish it? Brosenow (talk) 02:05, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Last question, does the contender series count as one? Brosenow (talk) 02:29, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for bothering you but after Jaynes fights next week I should resubmit correct? He has 1 Bellator fight in 2014 and would have 2 ufc fights Brosenow (talk) 02:53, 2 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: sorry forgot to tag you in the replies. Jaynes fought once in Bellator in 2014. Saturday will be his 2nd UFC Fight. Should I submit after the fight? Brosenow (talk) 23:26, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Brosenow, Jaynes will be notable after his fight this Sunday a UFC Fight Night 174. I will review the page and add the fight result into the page and move it to mainspace. However, you need to find sources to support the claim "won WXC Lightweight title and made one successful defense". Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 09:19, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: Sounds good I can do that. Thank you for getting back to me! Stay safe as well Brosenow (talk) 16:08, 7 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Brosenow, I have improved the ref and adding some content. Btw Dana White Contender Series does not count as one of the UFC fights. Stay safe. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:12, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Alright that’s what I was thinking thank you for confirming. Stay safe as well Brosenow (talk) 14:18, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Cassiopeia: if a fighter fought in Bellator 5 times (2016-2018) and once in the ufc would he meet the notability standards? Brosenow (talk) 05:22, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Brosenow, Bellator was a top tier promoter from 2009 to 2015, so a fighter fought from 2016 onward is not considered fought under tier one promoter which is the requirement to meet WP:MMABIO (at least 3 fights under tier one promoter. Btw that you for your contribution (re: Justin Jaynes). Let me know if anything else I could help. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 08:53, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Cassiopeia: thank you for answering. I understood the Jaynes situation but with 5 Bellator fights I didn’t know if that bypassed the standards. Thank you Brosenow (talk) 14:36, 18 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
