A tag has been placed on Theta Alpha Omega requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. I need to delete the page for now per policy, though (sorry!) Ask me here if you have any questions. Thanks, Airplaneman 22:14, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Theta Alpha Omega requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Status and Advice

As reviewing administrator, I have deleted the article as being exclusively promotional about the subject. It would be possible to write an article that would not be, but that would require complete rewriting. I would not delete it by A7 , no claim of importance, but I would certainly send it to AfD, where it will almost certainly be deleted. National fraternities usually do have e sufficient sources to show their importance. Ones confined to one college almost never do. At present, this one apparently is still in the process of establishing itself, and that translates to "not yet notable." When the time comes that you do have references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases, then write an article. Even then, do not copy from your web site -- even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the tone will not be encyclopedic and the material will not be suitable. Your User Name

Hi Orsonscottcard, I raised a question about your username here. My take on the policy is that even though you've admitted that you are not OSC, that it is still a violation of our user name policy. I have, however, asked that others who are more intiment with the naming policy review it and advise. This is not intended to be negative or meanspirited, as you are definitely trying to do the right thing, I just want to make sure that your user name is acceptable.---Balloonman NO! OSC, I confirmed it with others, but your name is in violation of our user name policies as it mirrors a real person. Since your account was created in good faith and you've made nothing but good faith edits, I'm not going to block you defacto right now. Instead, I would invite you to goto wp:chu and ask for a name change or to simply create a new account. If you choose to create a new account, let me or somebody know at the discussion above so that we can block this account. Note, that the people at WP:CHU might tell you to create a new acocunt because this one has so few edits. But if you want the history, you can always ask.---Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 02:15, 21 September 2010 (UTC) (NOTE: if you don't respond, this account will probably be blocked as a precaution. Again, please don't take this personally, but we do have guidelines/policies revolving around the usage of real names for people.---Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 02:46, 21 September 2010 (UTC))
I have filed a request to change my username to Brother Bulldog. Honestly, though, I'm starting to feel like there's a rule against everything I try to do. Orsonscottcard (talk) 04:30, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
I know, it may take some time to get situated, but trust me, before long you'll be an expert at Wikipedia (if for no other reason than the fact that you'll break all of our rules ;-) ) Anyways, welcome, and if you need help feel free to ask. We really aren't that bad around here.---Balloonman NO! I'm Spartacus! 14:35, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Well, if you'd really like to help I need some clarification regarding community standards for articles about fraternities and sororities. I have a discussion going here about an article that I had written, and the person who deleted the article for it being "advertising" has not been especially helpful in identifying what exactly I did wrong. If you could look over the article and give me a few pointers, I would greatly appreciate it. Brother Bulldog (talk) 21:24, 22 September 2010 (UTC)
