Hello Bscloutier. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:JNIOR, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Bscloutier. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Bscloutier|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:54, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Justlettersandnumbers: I apologize for the confusion likely on my part. There is no intent to not disclose anything although I was not interested in unnecessarily promoting my own biographical information. INTEG is a very small company of just a handful of people. I do own the company outright. How would you like me to indicate that on my page which I have yet created? Plus my article is not intended to sell the product but to document that it exists. Yes, it is likely that my/our pride in what we have created might show through. No one is being paid to write this article. I am lucky right now to be paying anyone at all, let alone myself, frankly. I am confused though as there are numerous articles of a similar nature already in Wikipedia about products of this same nature. Are you suggesting that this one is not worthy? Bscloutier (talk) 19:13, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Bscloutier, I'm not suggesting anything of the sort – as you've already been told, until your draft has been provided with independent reliable sources which support the content, we won't know whether the topic is sufficiently notable to be included in this encyclopaedia; any content which is not supported by such sources should simply be removed. Whether or not you are being paid, you clearly have a financial interest in your company, and should definitely make an appropriate statement to that effect on your user page. Rather the use the template I mentioned above, you might prefer to write a simple sentence to explain the connection (something along the lines of "I'm the owner of the company [name] which manufactures the product described at Draft:JNIOR", perhaps?). Under our policies, it is acceptable for you to submit a draft about the thing even if you have a conflict of interest, but only if that COI is clearly disclosed. This may seem like a lot of red tape, but we have a major and continuing problem with people and companies trying to use this project for promotional purposes, and have established some rules to limit that. Oh, and we don't get paid either! Regards, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:33, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:412dmx-core-section.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. @Theroadislong: Well this has certainly not been a very gratifying or positive first experience. I see no reason to fight with everyone. I thought that I wrote a perfectly good article. I wasn't expecting that an onslaught of complaint and rejection was a part of the experience. Thanks but... well, now I know. Bscloutier (talk) 19:36, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I know it does not help to say "It's not you." but it's not you. From the beginning, Wikipedia decided it was an encyclopedia. Thousands, actually tens of thousands, want it to be a repository for their original research and writing, but it can't be that and call itself an encyclopedia. Overlaid on that is the whole conflict-of-interest and paid restrictions, which ended up being allowed, but with transparency. P.S. Drafts are not forever. If a draft has no significant progress for six months the creator is notified first, but if no action, the draft is deleted. David notMD (talk) 21:41, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry that this was not a good experience for you. You said at the Teahouse that there was no press and no coverage of the product, and that coverage "has to start somewhere". Unfortunately the way it works here is that coverage never starts on Wikipedia; we are just aggregators of coverage that happens elsewhere. I've nominated the draft for speedy deletion for the above reasons.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 22:49, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:JNIOR, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
