Welcome!

Hello, Bucks104, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Nathan rooney, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Specs112 t c 15:40, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Nathan rooney has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Specs112 t c 15:40, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Nathan Rooney has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG & WP:NFOOTBALL

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 14:08, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed your recent edit to Jack Cudworth does not have an edit summary. Please provide one before saving your changes to an article, as the summaries are quite helpful to people browsing an article's history. Thanks! ukexpat (talk) 17:19, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Jack Cudworth, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sir Sputnik (talk) 00:00, 11 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Danzelle St Louis Hamilton, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Stoke (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Phil Trainer

[edit]

The original deletion of this article is not based on the content but the subject of the article. In order to have an article on Wikipedia, a subject must meet certain inclusion criteria. This is called notability. For athletes, the relevant criteria are outlined at WP:NSPORT. For footballers, the inclusion criteria are having played in a fully pro league (top four divisions in England) or for his/her country's national team. Mr. Trainer fails both these criteria. Once deleted by discussion, articles on the same subject (i.e. about the same person) may be summarily deleted without discussion, if they are not substantively different to the article previously deleted. Repeated recreation of such articles can be construed as vandalism. I hope this clears things up. Sir Sputnik (talk) 15:47, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Nathan Rooney

[edit]

Accuracy is not the issue here. As I explained to you about a month ago (see the section on Phil Trainer above), in order for a footballer to have an article on Wikipedia, he must have either received significant coverage, played in a fully professional league, or played for his country's national team. For Mr. Rooney, none of these apply. Sir Sputnik (talk) 17:41, 13 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

But he's played in the conference national why doesn't that count ?

Again, I refer you to my comment on Phil Trainer. Only the top four divisions of English football confer notability under WP:NSPORT. Sir Sputnik (talk) 18:48, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox dates and refernces

[edit]

Hi, when updating infobox stats could you update the 'pcupdate' or 'club-update' parameter by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made.

Also, could you ensure a reliable source is present that gives the player stats, in the articles you update? Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 22:48, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please keep these in mind. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:11, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
