You interested in GA nom'ing the season articles?

[edit]

I'm not going to be around reliably often enough to do it myself. You've done a little tidying on them (thanks, by the way!) so I was wondering if you'd be interested. Because I think they should easily pass the GA criteria. 2011 Ag2r-La Mondiale season is finished, and I will continue going through them in alphabetical order (so Astana next).

I'll leave a similar note User:Cs-wolves' talkpage as well. Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 00:16, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Don't know if you're still interested, or if you ever were, but I've marked off six articles that I'd like to not have to write myself. Jump in? Green-eyed girl (Talk · Contribs) 08:34, 4 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Biography on talk pages

[edit]

FYI... there is no "priority" or "importance" parameter associated with the WikiProject Biography banner. They were removed a few years ago. They have been replaced with specific work-group priority parameters. For example, military-priority, sports-priority, politician-priority, etc. Bgwhite (talk) 2:39 pm, Today (UTC−6)

[edit]

Good compromise! Thank you for your work. Montell 74 (talk) 18:51, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cool, glad that was acceptable. :) And you too! While we're on the subject of meet records... I actually found this really handy source from the IAAF which lists -all- the MRs for -all- the meets. Unfortunately it's missing the precise dates of the records, but was wondering if you happened to know anywhere where you could find those? Still, would probably be worth using it and entering the records as just the year, I'd imagine... Buttons to Push Buttons (talk | contribs) 07:52, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, i found this source too. Sometimes a meet record is also the year's best performance of this athlete and you could find the precise date on a profile page. Difficult if it is a very old record. So, let's keep on!Montell 74 (talk) 08:25, 3 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Page Curation newsletter

[edit]

Hey Buttons to Push Buttons. I'm dropping you a note because you used to (or still do!) patrol new pages. This is just to let you know that we've deployed and developed Page Curation, which augments and supersedes Special:NewPages - there are a lot of interesting new features :). There's some help documentation here if you want to familiarise yourself with the system and start using it. If you find any bugs or have requests for new features, let us know here. Thanks! 2012 NPB Season

[edit]

Yaaaaa, I didn't get around to finishing it. I went to looks at the 2012 Pacific League Climax Series article to get the numbers, then I realized that didn't exist. Then I realized a 2011 Climax Series article didn't exist either, so I made that. I plan on fixing up and finishing the season article tonight though! --TorsodogTalk 21:33, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to a discussion

[edit]

Hello Buttons to Push Buttons!

There is an ongoing discussion and edit war [1] about the image gallery in Hungarian_people#Folklore_and_Landscape section.

In the past you contributed at Hungarian people article and agreed that "as a general rule, galleries should generally be avoided per WP:Galleries. Further, most of these images are not relevant to an article on Hungarian people -- more about culture and history". This is what many of us think, but unfortunately some editors (Norden1990 , KœrteFa, Csendesmark - "by chance" all of them being just Hungarians, so subjective on this issue) insist to keep them. Can you please intervene and put a comment on the talk page? 89.77.33.126 (talk) 07:08, 28 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Quotation in Cagliari

[edit]

Peraphs you are right, I had just thought that a description of the city by a famoous British writer would be a good introduction to the topic for anglo-saxon readers. I will put the Claudianus description in the history of Cagliari, I think it's quite important to understand the importance of the town in the roman world. Thank for your help. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Roburq (talkcontribs) 17:54, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Birds vs. Worms has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No references, no claim of notability, fails WP:GNG and WP:NSONGS

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Edit to Neath and Tennant Canal

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for your edit to Neath and Tennant Canal, deleting the sentences about song lyrics. I tried to do the same myself on several occasions, but they were always reinstated, which is why I found a source for the lyrics. Inevitably, the content has been reinstated, in a fashion which is less than encyclopaedic. I don't know which is best - to have a source which may not be RS, but at least allows the content to be controlled, or to have unsourced paragraphs in a good article. Bob1960evens (talk) 18:51, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's self-promotion and nothing else. The writer(s) have repeatedly added their own work to a range of South Wales articles purely to advertise its existence, with no interest in whether it meets our policies or discussing whether it should be in the article (and it patently shouldn't be). I mean, take a look at their contributions history: [2] and [3]. (There was another one too, but I can't find it now.) There's no intention to build an encyclopedia in any of these edits. Keep removing it, I'd say. Cheers. Buttons to Push Buttons (talk | contribs) 20:21, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sortkey for upmerged stub tags

[edit]

When you create upmerged stub tags, as you did for Category:New Jersey geography stubs, please use appropriate tempsort parameters. This ensures that the category's main stub tag stays first in the listing. To see an example, look at this edit. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 12:41, 26 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to the African Destubathon

[edit]

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Buttons to Push Buttons,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
