Welcome![edit]

Hello, Captainshaggy, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

You may also want to complete the Wikipedia Adventure, an interactive tour that will help you learn the basics of editing Wikipedia. You can visit the Teahouse to ask questions or seek help.

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Australian Register of Historic Vessels requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. June 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Cape Don Light, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Could you please supply a source showing the the MV Cape Don was named after Cape Don Lighthouse? I could not find such a source at the article. Muhandes (talk) 12:31, 24 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your addition to MV Cape Don has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of article content such as sentences or images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Muhandes (talk) 10:55, 27 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Baragoola[edit]

Hi there. The Baragoola article, like her recent years, has had some tendentious history. We all need to work together to get her article into shape - per Wikipedia policy.

Ie, Wikipedia requires all info to be verifiable (see WP:V) and therefore supported by a reliable source (see WP:RS). The standard for inclusion is verifiability, not "truth".

I reverted to a version that I understand is supported by the references provided - please let me know what specific points you disagree with. I'm more than happy to support changes that comply with the above (and also neutrality requirements - see WP:NPOV). Let me know your thoughts. kind regards, --Merbabu (talk) 10:30, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It might be better to continue our conversation at Talk:Baragoola - more open for other editor's benefit. --10:32, 8 February 2022 (UTC)

Hi

My infomation is from both the preservation group and the government authorities Captainshaggy (talk) 10:47, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable, published sources. --Merbabu (talk) 11:52, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Again.my sources are from the owners Captainshaggy (talk) 13:15, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I understand. But that’s not sufficient Merbabu (talk) 20:32, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

PS - the links I provided above explain. Merbabu (talk) 20:36, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So primary sources aren't allowed? But false infomation is allowed because it was published? Captainshaggy (talk) 22:22, 8 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

By "primary source" do you mean verbal? If so, then no, that's not suitable I'm sorry to say.
What specific info in the article are you disputing? ie, what is in the version i restored that is incorrect? --Merbabu (talk) 03:54, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lead image[edit]
