Fair use rationale for Image:CAT.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CAT.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chris Btalkcontribs 21:23, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:CAT.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CAT.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 01:48, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blue Bird All-American

[edit]

Thanks for adding the photo of the Blue Bird All-American to the Blue Bird Corporation article, it really helps illustrate (no pun intended) the article subject product line...plus it is great to get a Western image to complement the Virginia and Alabama photos. Best wishes. Civilengtiger (talk) 00:33, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:CAT Flxible Grumman 870.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for uploading Image:News 4.JPG. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Nonstandard section

[edit]

I'm not really sure that we should be having a separate section for public transportation routes. Maybe a sentence in the route description?

Orphaned non-free media (File:CAT.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:CAT.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the old CAT logo to avoid a naming conflict and added a fur to match your article move. I have also edited related templates to reflect the renaming. Many articles still refer to Citizens Area Transit and should also be edited to reflect this change. The new RTC logo, or any logo, should not include a banner of text. I have now noticed this one should also not include any surrounding text and has an orange stripe. Would that be correct? I have reuploaded, but I can always revert or keep changing it until I get it right.-Secondarywaltz (talk) 03:14, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Coach 103.JPG

[edit]

File:Coach 103.JPG is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:CAT Enviro500 103.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:CAT Enviro500 103.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 15:24, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
