How do I make different colors in text?
- Just wrap a <font color="foo"> text </font> around it. GeorgeMoney (talk) 02:00, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, that didn't work. Look at my user pageCenturion 5 02:09, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- That's odd. Well an alternative is <span style="color: foo">text</span> which will surely work on hexadecimal colors. Cheers! GeorgeMoney (talk) 02:11, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Also note, that if you want to use the <span> way and you want to color a link, you can't put it on the outside of the link. You will need to do [[page to link to|<span style="color: foo">text to color</span>]]. GeorgeMoney (talk) 02:15, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, I think the problem was that you had ff000 when it should be ff0000. Remember there should always be 6 characters. GeorgeMoney (talk) 02:30, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Yes, making new CSS is easy, but you can only make css for yourself personally. Only admins can edit the site-wide css. Your css file is located at User:Centurion 5/monobook.css. GeorgeMoney (talk) 02:43, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- Admins are selected by winning an RFA. They have to be nominated by a user (or they can nominate themselves, but will get opposed more on the basis of a self-nomination) and get enough votes to be promoted to adminship. Usually the main criteria for adminship is 3000 edits and 3 month experience, although this varies. Some standards are here: Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Standards.
- If you had an RfA people would oppose it because they would claim you are too new and your edit count is too low. Your edit count can be found here: http://tools.wikimedia.de/~essjay/edit_count/Count.php?username=Centurion_5.
- I suggest waiting a little longer and getting some more edits, then you could go for an RfA and see how the community would want you as an admin.
- Cheers! GeorgeMoney (talk) 03:04, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- And, PS: I like your color scheme, it is pretty nice :) GeorgeMoney (talk) 03:04, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Signature
[edit]If you want to change your sig, there are 2 main ways:
all) Go to Special:Preferences
1)Put whatever you want your signature to be in the "nickname" field. (note that you can only put plaintext in that field. we will cover other stuff next)
1.a) To add non-plaintext stuff check the "raw signature" text box which allows you to put html and wikitext in.
2)This is the alternative method: Put in the "nickname" field: {{subst:Centurion 5/sig}}. Then create the "User:Centurion 5/sig page (you can name it any way you want) and add formatting and stuff. And remember to check raw signature.
Now all you have to do is save and your signature will appear when you sign with ~~~~
Hope that helps! GeorgeMoney (talk) 02:24, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Just to let you know...
[edit]Hey again!
I saw your edit summary for your response on my talk page, and I just wanted to tell you that you don't use the four tildas ~~~~ in edit summaries. The purpose of edit summaries is to help other users briefly see your description of the edit you made to the page.
So, instead of doing four tildas as an edit summary for your response to my talk page, you would write something like "thanks" or something of that nature.
Hope I helped!
Happy Editing!

Image copyright problem with Image:New England Flag.PNG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:New England Flag.PNG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.
Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Durin 15:13, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Connect the Dots
[edit]- Sorry it took so long for me to reply! I've been away from here for a while. ^^;; Well, I tried to explain it as best I could on the actual WikiProject page, but if there is anything particular you need clarified, I'll do my best. :)
- Basically, I'm thinking now that we could maybe note which Wikipedians seem to be extremely knowledgable in certain areas and keep a list, and let people also know that this project exists and recommend they put the project's Talk page on their Watchlist in case anybody posts requests for help on articles they might be interested in.

[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:New_England_Flag.PNG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Ian Kildare, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
