Hello Chetsford. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Louis "Lou B" Branchinelli. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Arthur Rubinfeld

Hello,

Can you please let me know how we are not being neutral? We provided facts and links for every change to the Arthur Rubinfeld page. Wfulton - Content such as this -

• Rubinfeld is well known for his leading-edge, visionary work

- while possibly appropriate for a press release or an infomercial, is not appropriate for an encyclopedia article.

Also, external links in the body of the article violate WP:EXT.

However, I might misunderstand. Can you clarify what you mean by "we?" Wikipedia does not permit shared accounts - see: WP:NOSHARING. Chetsford (talk) 20:25, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Ok, I can adjust the text. By "we" I meant the writer of the content and myself. They do not know how to make edits on Wikipedia so I am making the edits. But there is inaccurate information that could be damaging such as the acreditation in Architecture. Arthur is not maintaining this accreditation, so we can't keep that on the page no matter what. Thanks for the prompt feedback.

Wfulton - thanks very much. If the accreditation does not have a source it should definitely be removed. However, may I ask how you know Rubinfeld is not maintaining his accreditation? Chetsford (talk) 20:33, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Wfulton - per WP's policies on conflict of interest, specifically WP:EXTERNALREL, you should not be directly editing Rubinfeld's page, particularly as I assume the "writer of the content ... [who does] not know how to make edits on Wikipedia" is most likely Rubinfeld himself. Chetsford (talk) 20:52, 5 June 2017 (UTC)

Chetsford - how do you actually get any content on this site. I am baffled about how knowing a person could create a conflict of interest. The writer is not Arthur Rubinfeld. But if you want, I am happy to have a third party do this, where this is no conflict of interest. • Wfulton, we get content on this site by writing, basically, summaries of what reliable sources tell us. That's really all there is to it. That you appear to have a COI was, I am guessing, surmised by the tone and content of what you put up here. Drmies (talk) 00:40, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Drmies, If you have a page about a person that is clearly inaccurate, how does one go about getting the information corrected? It can't be entirely consensus based or else you would have nothing on the site to begin with. If some of the content is objectionable, I am happy to adjust the tone and content, but to roll everything back loses some key information about this individual. I really do want this to be a constructive experience, please tell me what to do to make it so. Wfulton (talk) 02:31, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Wfulton - it's no problem, just that WP's policies regarding WP:EXTERNALREL generally exclude editing the pages of people with whom you have a personal relationship; according to your statement above you "know Arthur personally." While you may not be able to directly edit Rubinfeld's page, you can post suggestions - or even the full text - of the changes you'd like made on the article's Talk page. Another editor can then incorporate those changes into the article. Just remember, though, that everything in a WP:BLP has to be supported by WP:RS which, invariably, means documentary sources. Personal knowledge is usually not sufficient in an all-but anonymous Wiki, otherwise I could claim to be Barbara Sinatra and start editing Frank's article with declarations of my personal knowledge that he was secretly a Vietnamese woman who wore a disguise his entire life. • If there is incorrect information, you go in and correct it. But you can't tell me that this was "correcting" inaccurate information--it was simply adding material to a resume.
