A tag has been placed on Christopher Yao requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Conflict of Interest

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Christopher Yao, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you.

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. A8UDI 02:16, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with this edit to Christopher Yao. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Tim Song II (talk) 02:38, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Christopher Yao, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christopher Yao. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. ContinueWithCaution (talk) 11:06, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue removing Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Christopher Yao, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please do not remove the AFD template. Feel free to discuss the request at the coresponding page. ContinueWithCaution (talk) 22:56, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Frustrated?

[edit]

You seem a little frustrated at the attempts to remove an article you created. Most of us have felt that frustration. Over 10% of the edits I've made to Wikipedia are in articles that are now gone, but that's life.

There are several articles I've not started because I realized the subject of the article would not meet Wikipedia's requirements and the article would be deleted. Over time, you'll get a feel for what is and is not an appropriate subject for an article here.

When I was new, I found articles on subjects I was already familiar with and edited them. Later, I started editing other articles and creating new ones. I've been around almost 3 years now and I've seen a few of my articles get a mention on the main page as a "Did you know" article for a few hours. I have yet to write a Good Article or contribute heavily to a Featured Article but they are on my to-do list. Good and Featured articles are usually a result of teamwork.

You may want to read Wikipedia:Welcoming committee/Welcome to Wikipedia and some of the links on that page. They will help you write better and avoid wasting time on articles that are likely to be deleted. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 23:41, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitrary section break

[edit]

Please stop. If you continue removing Articles for deletion notices or comments from articles and Articles for deletion pages, as you did with Christopher Yao, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. JForget 00:38, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits. If you vandalize Wikipedia again, you will be blocked from editing. WuhWuzDat 00:39, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You will likely find yourself blocked if this keeps up

[edit]

Even after Wuhwuzdat (talk · contribs)'s "last warning" above, you again removed a deletion template from an article that is under consideration for deletion.

If I were an uninvolved administrator, that is, one who wasn't editing Christopher Yao or one who is involved in its deletion process, I would probably WP:BLOCK you for the duration of the WP:AFD discussion due to your continuing vandalism related to this deletion discussion. As I'm neither uninvolved nor an administrator I won't be doing that, but don't be surprised if it happens. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:11, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The following message is a formal warning not to "edit war." However, in this particular case, removal of an articles for deletion tag while the discussion is ongoing is a no-no, whether you do it once or 3 times. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:43, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Christopher Yao. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. Do not remove AFD deletion templates, not once, not 3 times, not 10 times. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:43, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The above sounds hostile. It's not personal, it's part of a template. Personally, I hope you have a long and productive career here at Wikipedia, but you need to learn respect some long-standing practices. One is to not remove deletion-discussion templates, as that is considered vandalism. Another is to not repeatedly make the same or similar changes over and over without discussing the matter first, unless you are reverting vandalism. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 02:48, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You have been blocked from editing for a short time to prevent further disruption caused by your engagement in an edit war. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below.

Again, the box above is a template, but this message is not. Whatever we feel about some topic, we should abide by certain general rules of behavior. Feel free to explain yourself. Materialscientist (talk) 03:51, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Olive branch

[edit]

As you are WP:BLOCKED and not WP:BANNED I feel comfortable making this offer:

If you have a comment you want put on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Christopher Yao. If your comment explains why the subject of the article meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines and the comment itself is suitable for putting in a Wikipedia deletion discussion, put it in a reply here and I will consider copying it over there for you. Blocked editors can usually edit their own talk page. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 03:57, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/71.167.112.56 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. ContinueWithCaution (talk) 20:35, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
