Wikipedia Project[edit]

Hi, my name is Federico (alias Pain) and I am creating a section for nominating th best user page, I was wondering if you were interested in joining the project.

The project has just started, and we need help to spread the word and ameliorate it.

Wikipedia:Votes_for_best_User_page

Best regards, Federico Pistono 14:28, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please supply more information than is already stated on the page, as a preliminary....yes, for the time being? Ciriii 19:49, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I updated the section, with new specifications and goals. Also we have new members, you might want to check it out. Bye. Wikipedia:Votes_for_best_User_page Federico Pistono 14:53, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Best User Page Project[edit]

Let us try an experiment. Until further notice, the voting system will be open, using the method described in the Guidelines. This will make us understand how reliable the current system is and whether the project has a real possibility to expand into hundrends of users or not.

All users are encounaged to display the {{BestUserPage}} banner on their User Page.

All members all encouraged to display the {{BUP}} banner in their User Page, and also notify that the project has started.

We will refer to the votes for this first session as "March 2006" in the archive.

St. George's Cross[edit]

St. George's Cross is the England flag, not The Cross of St. George, nor is it The George Cross. Best wishes, Lion King 14:17, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. But St George's Cross, there is no truncation.

You are correct, I hadn't realized I'd used a full stop! Lion King 15:33, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Forkbeard[edit]

I would go with Sweyn. I would state his fathers name. for example:

Sweyn Haroldson (Forkbeard) Son of King Harold Gormsson, and father of Knut the Great.

Thanks..have changed :article sweyn I of Denmark

Hi, in the contest "Cisalpine Gaul = Northern Italy" I would to "emphasizing" celtic extraction of the Northern italian people and topography, again latin origins who are limitated only to central Latium (Province of Rome and some parts of provinces of Rieti, Latina and Frosinone). What do you thing if we write the old celtic names near modern names of the northern italian cities? --Dm.insubre.82 12:37, 2 March 2007 (UTC) Post Scriptum: excuseme for my english if it's not very well. Bye.[reply]

Ok, thanks for yours explanations; You're in right, it's just a simple list. Bye bye! --Dm.insubre.82 20:12, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Iberia[edit]

Hello Ciriii. I see that you have reverted my inclusion of the Celtic populations of Iberia. You state that "early people of Iberia were not definitely Celt". Well... My friend, you are contradicting present knowledge on Celtic Iberia, as can be seen in the reference I've placed in the article (Alberro, Manuel and Arnold, Bettina (eds.), e-Keltoi: Journal of Interdisciplinary Celtic Studies, Volume 6: The Celts in the Iberian Peninsula, University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Center for Celtic Studies, 2005.) - please read it before going back to your archaic view that there were not Celts in Iberia. I am reverting you, given also the fact that my edit did not erase any of the info previously presented, I even added some images, and expanded the list of tribes in Iberia, with their respective links, and sourceded it (with a reference of the Journal of Interdisciplinary Celtic Studies and a Detailed map of the Pre-Roman Peoples of Iberia (around 200 BC) by the archeological station of Tavira). My friend... I suspected that you may have a British Isles centered PoV!?! If this discussions turns out to be a war, I will be forced to ask for a Third opinion. Thank you. The Ogre 16:23, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My friend... are you saying that we should go back to my former version, given your most recent edits? And yes, I can put the info like place names and also the maps. The Ogre 16:56, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ciriii I did not intend to offend you, sorry if that happened. I still have some issues regarding this version. What do you mean by "information on other contemporaries is there, but some other information for the reader I see as a compromise."? As I said, I still desagree withe the heading "Celtic Forebears/Contemporaries" - their were Celts! And do not agree with the statement "The people living in the Iberian peninsula live don the edge of the Celtic world and although Gallic influence culture penetrated in the north there was a distinct and seperate culture throughout much of Spain and Portugal until Roman Expansion and conquest." - I believe it can be better sated. I can also try to find better maps, but it may take a while. Should we let the previous one there meanwhile? The Ogre 17:11, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to do something to satisfy as both, but today, I'm short of time just now. The Ogre 18:08, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ciriii! You are right about the locations, I'll change it. Thanks! The Ogre 18:12, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Flamarande - Barcid[edit]

Hy, first of all I want to thank you for your improvement of the article "Barcid". That particular sentence had been buging me for quite some time but I never knew how to improve it (English isn't my native language). Perhaps you could help me in improving the article even further? I'm looking for the names of the daughters of Hamilcar (and all my books about the Punic Wars simply ignore them). If you could also find the accepted dates of birth of the members of this family I would thank you. And if you could find some reliable source about the "4th son of Hamilcar Barca" (he was mentioned in the History channel, but I couldn't find anything about him anwhere) I would be much obliged. I tend to look over this particular article since I created it and I am always keen in improving it. Thanks Flamarande 19:59, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HAPPY (Belated) BIRTHDAY![edit]
