Copyright, notability, conflict of interest[edit]

Assertion by someone on the end of a wire of permission to use material is not enough; we have to be certain that the person giving a release has the authority to do so, and that the actual copyright holder understands and agrees to Wikipedia's CC-BY-SA license terms, which allow any reader to copy, modify and re-use material for any purpose including commercial. For those reasons, a formal copyright release, as described in WP:Donating copyrighted materials, is required.

It is seldom worth making a copyright release, because material written for a company website is likely to be unsuitable for an encyclopedia article, which requires a neutral point of view. Wikipedia is not for promotion of any kind, and is not a notice-board for pinning up copies of a company's own publicity material. See User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard for background.

Since you have claimed authorisation for use of this text, you are presumably associated with the company. In that case you have, from Wikipedia's point of view a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and should read carefully that page and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. Note in particular that when editing Wikipedia on any subject where you have a COI you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use (and in some jurisdictions by laws against covert advertising) to declare your interest. You are also very strongly advised not to edit such subjects directly, but you may submit a draft using the WP:Articles for creation process for uninvolved users to consider, or make suggestions on an article talk page.

Article subjects need to have notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing references to "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject."
