Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like HMAP, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted (if it hasn't already).

Speedy deletion of HMAP[edit]

A tag has been placed on HMAP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;

I would urge you to stop editing for a moment and ensure you are familiar with some of our policies as supplied to you in the messages above. Particularly important are Conflict of interest and NPOV. You also need to read up on the use of edit summaries. A lot of the changes you have made to this article are not in keeping with our guidelines on article creation as far as tone and notability and verifiability of facts. Also be aware of introducing original research. Please engage in discussion with other editors on article talk. Don't be put off![edit]

I just wanted to encourage you to come back and contribute to Wikipedia.

Editors and admins can sometimes be a bit overzealous when it comes to apparent copyright infringement and bias, simply because the overwhelming majority of copied material is placed by users without the appropriate privilege. Automatic search bots have been set up that detect blocks of material that exist elsewhere on the web, and the material is then flagged for a human to investigate and put forward for deletion. 99% of the time this is the correct action, and it helps keep Wikipedia legal and neutral.

Despite this and some of the comments you've received, we really do need individuals like yourself with current detailed information to contribute to some of these articles. For commercial organisations, and those with a competitive agenda (be it monetary or political) self-edits are generally bad. In the case of an organisation like CoML though, I would argue it is not bad - in fact it's likely that only members inside the organisation will have quick access to the relevant verifiable sources of information. The key to avoid conflict is to provide references for information added - generally anything that appeared in a recognised peer-reviewed publication is perfect and will not normally be disputed.

Wikipedia has a rule that goes largely forgotten - that all rules are flexible. (I paraphrase - it's a few years since I read it in its original form, but believe me it's there. The basic premise is that good sense usually takes precedence over written rules.)

So... unless you're already editing under a different account, please feel welcome to resume your contribution to these articles. If you want to add text for which you have copyright permission, feel free to reference it in the edit summary.

File permission problem with File:ChEss logo.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ChEss logo.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{permission pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
