The Mind of Jake Paul moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, The Mind of Jake Paul, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. A tag has been placed on United Shane Dawson Conspiracy Series requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Hi. A couple of things: first, there is a deletion discussion going on for an article you created. You are welcome to participate, but what you must not do is remove the tag on the article or falsely put the "kept" tag on the talk page while the discussion is pending. Another act such as that will surely get you blocked. Second, if you are not familiar with deletion discussions, may I suggest you have a look at this page. Cheers. Thanks for uploading File:Conspiracy series by Shane Dawson.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. Replaceable fair use File:DCappela at their first show.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:DCappela at their first show.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 10:28, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi! I moved this to your userspace at User:Coasterdude1/Defunctland. The issue here is that I don't see where this YouTube channel has received enough coverage for it to be considered notable. I'm familiar with (and subscribed to!) this channel, but so far it looks like most of the places that would cover his work haven't really paid a huge amount of attention, which is a shame. It's really hard for YouTubers to gain the needed coverage since there's so many channels and so few outlets that cover them, so most channels won't pass notability guidelines. A case in point are the articles for Danny of GameGrumps and PewDiePie. Despite both of them having huge followings, they didn't initially pass notability guidelines because they didn't have the needed coverage. It actually took a few years for the coverage to come in. In any case, I added the sources I could find and I moved it to your userspace so you can continue to work on it. ReaderofthePack(formerly Tokyogirl79) (。◕‿◕。) 17:31, 25 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The article does not show how the web series is notable. Simply having an IMDB page is not sufficient. Please see general notability guidelines and notability of web content for more information. ... discospinster talk 14:59, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Discospinster:You moved my page Defunctland to draft. Why? It has a IMDb page [1]. Every Shane Dawson series has a page on here The Secret World of Jeffree Star, The Mind of Jake Paul and Conspiracy Series with Shane Dawson. So why they can be on Wikipedia but my page can't? Don't give the answer of "undersourced, unclear notability".Coasterdude1 (talk) 15:18, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I told you above why it was moved. There is no evidence it is notable. I provided you with links explaining what we mean by notability – significant coverage in multiple reliable sources. I don't know what else to tell you. ... discospinster talk 18:34, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Discospinster: It is on Wikipedia, so you can’t do anything about it because they reviewed it and if you move it you will be block from editing on Wikipedia. I won. Coasterdude1 (talk) 18:50, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest that you take a serious look at improving the sourcing for the article to establish notability. If not, there is a possibility the article will be deleted instead of just bein moved to draft space. -- Whpq (talk) 19:23, 30 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Defunctland shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Infinity Train Book 1 (Original Soundtrack).jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Infinity Train Book 1 (Original Soundtrack).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 12 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
