CVUA
Hello! I recently saw your request for rollback was declined. I have seen your counter/vandalism skills around, and wanted to thank you for all the work you do. You have learned a lot in a short time. I was wondering if you wanted to enroll in the counter-vandalism academy. I would teach you about some tools, how to tell vandalism from good faith edits, and explain the username, protection, and CSD actions and policies. You seem to have a pretty good grasp on some of these concepts, but this would help teach you further. In addition, it would allow you to show your knowledge of counter-vandalism to, one day, be granted rollback. It’s a self paced course, and I will leave comments and suggestions on your progress.

Your revert at Battle of Ayacucho
I see that you reverted the edit by 31.205.21.37 as vandalism. Their edit was not vandalism; it was a good-faith attempt to correct the obviously wrong "Luxembourg victory". I have reverted to the last good version, Special:Diff/1153508226. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 14:54, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

Sandbox Deletion
Hello, I see you recently deleted my sandbox. I apologize, I'm new to Wikipedia. Is drafting an article not an appropriate use of the sandbox? The guidelines I've read seem to say it is. The article wasn't fully sourced, balanced, etc, but in my defense I was only half way through writing it.
I'd be interested in getting a copy of the deleted article and some specifics on why it was deleted and how I can conform with Wikipedia guidelines in the future. Chase Kanipe (talk) 22:55, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, just a note that I did not delete the sandbox, an administrator deleted it when I tagged it for deletion because it promoted a product or entity (for information, see WP:CSD). See also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not to know what you may have or what you may not have on your pages, including your sandbox and/or user page. Thank you. 64andtim (chat) 23:38, 28 June 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't understand how it promotes a product or entity. Please help me understand.
- (1) I clearly wasn't promoting HeartMath as an entity/organization, or any of their products. Most of the draft was about the scientific criticism of their methods (energy medicine, integrative medicine).
- (2) HeartMath is clearly notable enough to warrant an article - they have multi-million dollar contracts with the U.S. government, educational organizations, etc. The various scientists I cited in the criticism section all had their own Wikipedia articles and had all published pieces on specifically HeartMath.
- (3) It's possible you thought the article was too negative because I referred to their research as pseudoscientific? And so I was promoting a point of view? I would dispute that this isn't a neutral evaluation. The Wikipedia articles on energy medicine and quantum mysticism both say in the opening paragraphs that the practices are pseudoscientific, and these are the organizations primary areas of research. But I can remove that bit if it's the reason the article was deleted.
- (4) I'm confused by your linking of the criterion for speedy deletion. It says the deletion of test pages does not apply to the sandbox or pages in the user namespace (G2). The article on the sandbox rules specifically says that drafts are allowed.
- Can I re-create this article in my sandbox? Would it be safe for me to re-create the same article in the drafts namespace instead of my sandbox?
- I'm still interested in being sent the original content when you get the chance. Thanks. Chase Kanipe (talk) 00:24, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Chase Kanipe, I have restored your sandbox because I think I see potential--but one has to look carefully to see it. I scrubbed some of the content to stave off a next deletion nomination; your job is to whip this into shape, following perhaps the model of other similar organizational articles. Good luck. Drmies (talk) 00:31, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. I agree with your comment that "obviously you'll need to explain what they do, but not like this, like a list or an organizational website--and so much content needs secondary sourcing". I didn't realize the sandboxes were moderated and I was in the middle of writing it. I'll add all the sourcing and expand the list into proper paragraphs outside of the sandbox. Chase Kanipe (talk) 01:20, 29 June 2023 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi 64andtim. After reviewing your request, I have enabled rollback on your account. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or RedWarn.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! — Ingenuity (talk • contribs) 13:22, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

Hi, I was curious if UV triggers a prompt when trying to report a user that's already been reported to a noticeboard like here. Twinkle lets you know that a user is already listed but I'm not sure if Ultraviolet does. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 18:11, 4 July 2023 (UTC)

Tagging pages for speedy deletion
Hello, 64andtim,
Please review Criteria for Speedy Deletion so you understand the accepted criteria for speedy deletion. You can't just make up your own reason, there needs to be an appropriate speedy deletion criteria that is indicated in the Twinkle page tagging. You also should post a notification of the CSD tagging on the talk page of the page creator. Using Twinkle, set your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator". Please do not tag any more pages for any type of deletion until you understand better how it should be done.
If you have questions about CSD, then bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 06:03, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry about that since I'm overly focused on tagging pages for CSD I might have or not followed the rules right even the first time. Hopefully that won't happen again once I fully read the CSD criteria policy page. Thanks. signed, 64andtim (chat) 06:09, 9 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello 64andtim,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Robert B. Martin Casting Director for deletion, because it's a redirect that seems implausible or is an unlikely search term.
If you don't want Robert B. Martin Casting Director to be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Article namespace and CSD
Hi 64andtim. I've removed your A7 tag from Draft:Hansen, youtuber as this criterion only applies to pages in the article namespace, not drafts. While the draft subject is likely non-notable, this can be easily handled by AfC instead. Please keep this in mind when tagging pages in the future. Hello, 64andtim,
Please set your Twinkle Preferences so that "Notify Page Creator" box is checked off and all of the CSD criteria boxes are checked off as well. Then, when you tag a page for deletion, there will be a notification placed on the talk page of the article creator. WQED Multimedia
Thanks for your help with corrections and updates to WQED Multimedia. However, the organization has never owned or operated WESA-FM. (The edit request was admittedly not worded as clearly as it could have been.) Instead, it should be:
- Television station WQED (TV) (VHF channel 4 Pittsburgh)
- Radio station WQED (FM) (89.3 FM Pittsburgh)
- Radio station WQEJ-FM (89.7 FM Johnstown, PA)
WQED-TV is a member station of PBS. WQED-FM is a classical radio station that is simulcasted on WQEJ-FM...
Please also note that the WQED (FM) page is erroneously tagged with an infobox or similar listing NPR member stations. It is not affiliated with NPR. Thanks again! PGHneighbor (talk) 02:36, 29 September 2023 (UTC)

Rabinder Singh (intelligence officer)
Dear Wikipedia Editors,
I hope this note finds you well. I am writing to you as Rabinder Singh's brother, and I wish to clarify and attest to the recent edits made to the page dedicated to Rabinder Singh's life. The information added is a genuine narrative directly from my personal experience and interactions with Rabinder. The intent behind these edits was to present a more accurate and holistic view of my brother's life, drawing from our shared memories and firsthand accounts.
Understanding the rigorous standards Wikipedia upholds for its content, I felt it was crucial to share the authenticity of this information. It's of utmost importance for readers to have access to true, firsthand narratives, especially when it concerns personal histories. The edits made are in line with Wikipedia's objective of providing factual and unbiased information to its readers.
I trust that you will consider this personal testimony while reviewing the changes, and I'm more than willing to engage in any further discussions or provide additional verification as required. Your commitment to maintaining the integrity of Wikipedia's content is greatly appreciated, and I thank you for your attention to this matter.
Warm regards,
Spotlearngrow (talk) 04:23, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) @Spotlearngrow: Wikipedia requires verifiable secondary sources, not just personal anecdotes, in order to add material to articles, and this was likely the reason why your edit was reverted. Also, the additions you added were not neutrally phrased, but rather used promotional wording to describe Rabinder Singh. You state that you are Rabinder Singh's brother; if so, then you have a Conflict of Interest regarding the article, and you may suggest that an edit be made for you on the Talk page instead of directly editing the article yourself as per Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest policies. Feel free to re-add the material after rephrasing it to be more neutral if you have verifiable secondary sourcing for your additions if you wish. Regards, #prodraxis connect 21:25, 12 October 2023 (UTC)

Administrators' newsletter – December 2023
News and updates for administrators from the past month (November 2023).
- Following a talk page discussion, the Administrators' accountability policy has been updated to note that while it is considered best practice for administrators to have notifications (pings) enabled, this is not mandatory. Administrators who do not use notifications are now strongly encouraged to indicate this on their user page.
- Following a motion, the Extended Confirmed Restriction has been amended, removing the allowance for non-extended-confirmed editors to post constructive comments on the "Talk:" namespace. Now, non-extended-confirmed editors may use the "Talk:" namespace solely to make edit requests related to articles within the topic area, provided that their actions are not disruptive.
- The Arbitration Committee has announced a call for Checkusers and Oversighters, stating that it will currently be accepting applications for CheckUser and/or Oversight permissions at any point in the year.
- Eligible users are invited to vote on candidates for the Arbitration Committee until 23:59 December 11, 2023 (UTC). Candidate statements can be seen here.

December 2023
Hello, and thank you for removing vandalism from Matthew Wells (rower). We appreciate this, but unfortunately your edit was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you. - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 21:05, 1 December 2023 (UTC)
- I was using AntiVandal and reverted on what appeared to be obvious vandalism, but several IPs edited the page before and after my reversion, and you've managed to restore the last good version. I appreciate it. :) – 64andtim (talk) 22:57, 1 December 2023 (UTC)

Hey! I noticed you reverted this edit as vandalism – while it is unsourced, and I don't think there's an RS that would say it, I'm not entirely sure it's untrue. In any case, I certainly don't think it was vandalism, and would hope that you take care to properly mark why you're reverting an edit – it can be discouraging to new editors otherwise. - @331dot: Thanks, I think that's the right call. @Ohnoitsjamie: Suspicious or not, I don't think there's enough here to conclude that this isn't a joe-job, and I think the risks of a block without certainty (namely: encouraging more joe-jobbing by providing "results") outweigh the benefits of a potentially-good block on shaky grounds. --Blablubbs (talk) 21:42, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Ohnoitsjamie: If you're not going to then I'm unblocking 64andsomeone and undeleting their user page, as it doesn't stand without a block on this account. But I also agree that this is a joe-job by CGSFH. Checkuser evidence, which may be apparent to other checkusers by now, is consistent with that. If there's concern about 64andtim then let's address that, but they've done a lot more since May than create an LTA page. And calling this a minor LTA is probably an understatement. They've been doing some high profile vandalism nearly every day for months, and for much longer that that. That page may or may not want to exist, but it's not a G5. -- zzuuzz (talk) 22:21, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- I unblocked User:64andsomeone with a note that it was based on a Joe-job block of the main account. I don't see the point of restoring the LTA page though, per WP:DENY. The vandalism is pretty obvious and doesn't need a guide to explain it. OhNoitsJamie Talk 22:28, 26 December 2023 (UTC)

- Good unblock, but I'm uncomfortable with the unblock reason ("unblocking per talk page"). Once this is archived, that lets people's imaginations run wild. Did he just agree to not do it again? They're not going to sift through the archives to find a discussion with the right timestamo, they'll just assume. Compare my block log, which leaves absolutely no ambiguity. I'd suggest, with 64andtim's permission, a new one-second block clarifying this, e.g. ("Original block was mistaken, see [link to discussion]."). Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 21:42, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- Pinging @331dot since they blocked me then somebody unblocked me later: while I was offline, 63andtim was impersonating me, and I was blocked for some reason even though I only, and legitimately, operate 64andsomeone. I never operated 63andtim at all (it was most likely BBB), and that is why both of my accounts have very strong passwords. – 64andtim (talk) 22:54, 26 December 2023 (UTC)
- 64, I will do as Suffusion suggests if that's okay with you. 331dot (talk) 08:38, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
- Sure, go ahead. I won't judge you. :) – 64andtim (talk) 08:39, 27 December 2023 (UTC)

- I did consider that as a possibility(that's partially why I only did this for a week), but I'm willing to defer to your greater knowledge and remove this. 331dot (talk) 21:13, 26 December 2023 (UTC)

You just updated my page and removed multiple lines of information which I would like to have reversed. The destruction of infrastructure is factually correct and has been documented extensively. Removal of this information does not depict bias but shows your bias in the inability to be able to provide examples of the destruction of infrastructure as a result of the effects of war. Question from JD Skywalker (15:49, 1 January 2024)
How do I create a new article or page ? --JD Skywalker (talk) 15:49, 1 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hello, and welcome! Before creating a new article, you may want to read Help:Your first article first, as this page will tell you what to have in your article, what it may not, and other stuff like that. You can also use the article wizard to create your new draft, and you can continue to work on it until the draft is ready to be moved into the mainspace. Thanks! – 64andtim (talk) 07:32, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
