I-League

Hey, does the I-League not do a Emerging Player of the Match like ISL? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:17, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Ya, I checked twitter and their match reports but didn't see it. Wish they did. Mind, I would take attendance over EPOTM any day haha. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:19, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Category

Same league so just change the name of the category. We might need a bot to go around to change category name on pages. Also, where is it stated that the league name is actually different? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:43, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Oh no, keep the name of past seasons. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 19:35, 30 November 2017 (UTC)
We should get a bot for that I think. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 20:09, 30 November 2017 (UTC)

Re: 2011 I-League U19

Haha, oh ya. I was going through a block at the time and also admins for football articles were not used to Indian football articles yet and so one of them nominated for deletion and when they saw I was blocked I put it to the userspace to not lose the info. Damn... I was 15 back then lol and I think I was blocked for arguing with Manuel Gomes. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 12:30, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Why you shouting at me? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:39, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Coderzombie. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Deepakbhai Desai

What "promotional"? Facts are not important? No vandalism please, do not remove cited fact based content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SourceOnly (talkcontribs) 03:16, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello SourceOnly, The information you have added in article is irrelevant to the topic of article. It is biography of Deepakbhai Desai and the information you have added is irrelevant. A quote from book and a record of charity is irrelevant to biography so it is removed. So please refrain from adding it again. Gazal world (talk) 07:44, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

Biography relates to core values of the subject person. Core values that are his. Income is very relevant so do not attempt to control content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SourceOnly (talkcontribs) 08:56, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

SourceOnly, Gazal world Let's discuss this on the talk page of the article for the record. Coderzombie (talk) 09:02, 7 December 2017 (UTC)

Template:Fb r

Hi Coderzombie,

At Template talk:Fb r#No_background_color? you were wondering if a parameter could be added to remove the background color. Would this still be helpful to you? I should be able to add an option like that if you're interested.

Best wishes, User:GKFXtalk 13:48, 11 December 2017 (UTC).

New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Coderzombie, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 12713 pages. Please consider reviewing even just a few pages each day! If everyone helps out, it will really put a dent in the backlog.
  • Currently the backlog stretches back to March and some pages in the backlog have passed the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing some of them!

Outreach and Invitations:

  • If you know other editors with a good understanding of Wikipedia policy, invite them to join NPP by dropping the invitation template on their talk page with: {{subst:NPR invite}}. Adding more qualified reviewers will help with keeping the backlog manageable.

New Year New Page Review Drive

  • A backlog drive is planned for the start of the year, beginning on January 1st and running until the end of the month. Unique prizes will be given in tiers for both the total number of reviews made, as well as the longest 'streak' maintained.
  • Note: quality reviewing is extremely important, please do not sacrifice quality for quantity.

General project update:

  • ACTRIAL has resulted in a significant increase in the quality of new submissions, with noticeably fewer CSD, PROD, and BLPPROD candidates in the new page feed. However, the majority of the backlog still dates back to before ACTRIAL started, so consider reviewing articles from the middle or back of the backlog.
  • The NPP Browser can help you quickly find articles with topics that you prefer to review from within the backlog.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

If you wish to opt-out of future mailings, go here. TonyBallioni (talk) 20:27, 12 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello, I request you for the copy editing of article Gujarat Sahitya Academy. I am not good in English Grammer. Gazal world (talk) 18:02, 15 December 2017 (UTC)

FC

I would keep "FC" for Indian Super League clubs and then "F.C." for I-League and anything else (Chennai City F.C.). --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:42, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

Honestly, it is because the franchise thing. It just made sense to me when I saw Premier League with F.C. and MLS teams with FC... I guess you could say that is my interest then which might be in conflict with what should happen in the end. I would go for a larger consensus and whatever it is I'll go with. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:59, 17 December 2017 (UTC)
I will say, having "FC" instead of "F.C." does make things easier and in my opinion, is more neater. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:59, 17 December 2017 (UTC)

ISL stadium capacity

Honestly, at this point, I think it is to fuck with me lol. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 05:37, 21 December 2017 (UTC)

Nine, lol, since we don't count in finals games to that. But ya, that is a bit of a concern. We could get rid of it? I got it from the A-League pages and I see they are not using it now. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:18, 22 December 2017 (UTC)
Go for it. We already have the high and low. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 18:03, 22 December 2017 (UTC)

Twice upon a Time

Hi Coderzombie. Regarding your edits on Doctor Who article, as a draft has been made (this can be found at Draft:Twice upon a Time (Doctor Who)), rather than make an article from scratch, the draft should be moved to the main space.

Sorry about this

TedEdwards 19:41, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

By all means edit the draft, until an adminstrator can move the draft to the mainspace. TedEdwards 19:42, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

New Years new page backlog drive

Hello Coderzombie, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Announcing the NPP New Year Backlog Drive!

We have done amazing work so far in December to reduce the New Pages Feed backlog by over 3000 articles! Now is the time to capitalise on our momentum and help eliminate the backlog!

The backlog drive will begin on January 1st and run until January 29th. Prize tiers and other info can be found HERE.

Awards will be given in tiers in two categories:

  • The total number of reviews completed for the month.
  • The minimum weekly total maintained for all four weeks of the backlog drive.

NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Muelsensteen

Hey, for Rene, we should probably wait until official confirmation by either the league or Kerala Blasters before adding it on here. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 22:43, 2 January 2018 (UTC)

Chennaiyin

I would treat how it is done with say Spain, Germany, and the US. Like, for FC Bayern Munich, they have that page for the first team, FC Bayern Munich II for the reserves, and then FC Bayern Munich Junior Team for the youth team. For Real Madrid C.F., they have Real Madrid Castilla for the reserves, and then Real Madrid C.F. (youth). And then my New York Red Bulls and New York Red Bulls II and then New York Red Bulls Academy. For England I feel it is different because they don't have B teams that compete within the system but it seems like we are going in that direction. Of course the page should only be made if they are too participate in the 2nd Division at least, so FC Goa B is not notable yet as they are only a Goa Pro League team and same with the old ATK U19 side. The Youth sides would be a bit more tricky to determine notability for though. Chennaiyin do have teams at all the levels so I say that if we can find information for their youth academy (which for Chennaiyin is available) we should go for it. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 07:13, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Btw, you want to go for 2017–18 I-League 2nd Division :) --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 07:14, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
True. Honestly, I am more of a fan of making the B pages and leaving the actual youth program (considering the general low amount of information) to the Youth development section on the main page. So for example, we would have Chennaiyin FC and Chennaiyin FC B (I wouldn't call them reserves since technically they are labeled as B teams and the next level from simply academy) while the actual Chennaiyin FC Academy would be described on the actual Chennaiyin FC page under the "Youth development" section (with a link to Chennaiyin FC B). Also I would go for it now considering we now technically have a confirmed team. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 07:35, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Although we can keep some like FC Pune City Academy and Bengaluru FC Academy since I would say they pass WP:GNG. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 07:36, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

It is being planned to organize Wikigraphists Bootcamp in India, please fill out the survey form to help the organizers. Your responses will help organizers understand what level of demand there is for the event (how many people in your community think it is important that the event happens). At the end of the day, the participants will turn out to have knowledge to create drawings, illustrations, diagrams, maps, graphs, bar charts etc. and get to know to how to tune the images to meet the QI and FP criteria. Avram Grant

I know he is only an advisor but he was also in charge for the match against Goa recently so I put him down as the interim head coach since technically, I assume he is. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 07:59, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

Nope, I don't believe so. Officially with the ISL, he is technical advisor. We could put it back with (technical advisor) next to his name since we need someone to be indicated as on the bench leading them. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 08:23, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Regarding Schettore, I would just stick with Grant since that is who the ISL seems to be using as the guy leading them right now. Hell Grant was even running training. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 08:27, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Ya, so again, lets go with Grant. Mind, this tweet is a bit offputting... is he an assistant? Is he the de-facto head coach to get around ISL rules? Who knows. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 08:28, 12 January 2018 (UTC)

So according to the latest ISL official article on NorthEast United and Avram Grant, he is now the actual head coach. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 05:40, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Re: Manjappada

Hm, honestly, it could. I'll look into it. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 19:58, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Yes, possibly - certainly worth tagging. I can't do anything, I'm INVOLVED. GiantSnowman 09:16, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

The article Prashanth Kalinga has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NFOOTY. Despite playing in AFC Cup, Transport United are still not considered a fully-pro club via WP:FPL (both clubs in the match have to be fully-pro). He also fails WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ArsenalFan700 (talk) 15:07, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

Prasanth

Hey, I don't think Transport United count as WP:FPL. Bhutan isn't listed as fully-pro. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 16:04, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

Haha, fair play. Honestly though, f it, I won't be a hard ass. If someone else AfD's it then it will be dealt with but I'll let you have this lol :) --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 17:29, 23 January 2018 (UTC)

Manjappada

Please can you ask the closing admin? I am INVOLVED and I cannot see any real consensus for a full protect of the redirect. GiantSnowman 10:33, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

I am trying to change the name of the wiki page but don't exactly know how to do that. I requested for page name change and created discussion in talk page. But, how does that gets decided if name should be changed or not? Issue was that I didn't create that page but the reason for name change was valid. I would be happy if you could give me directions on how to proceed further. Placed link for discussion here just for reference : Talk:Rajahmundry#Requested move 18 March 2018. Opinions regarding the name change are also welcomed.

New Page Review Newsletter No.10

Hello Coderzombie, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • ACTRIAL's six month experiment restricting new page creation to (auto)confirmed users ended on 14 March. As expected, a greatly increased number of unsuitable articles and candidates for deletion are showing up in the feed again, and the backlog has since increased already by ~30%. Please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day.

Paid editing

  • Now that ACTRIAL is inoperative pending discussion, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

Nominate competent users for Autopatrolled

  • While patrolling articles, if you find an editor that is particularly competent at creating quality new articles, and that user has created more than 25 articles (rather than stubs), consider nominating them for the 'Autopatrolled' user right HERE.

News

  • The next issue Wikipedia's newspaper The Signpost has now been published after a long delay. There are some articles in it, including ACTRIAL wrap-up that will be of special interest to New Page Reviewers. Don't hesitate to contribute to the comments sections. The Signpost is one of the best ways to stay up date with news and new developments - please consider subscribing to it. All editors of Wikipedia and associated projects are welcome to submit articles on any topic for consideration by the The Signpost's editorial team for the next issue.

NPR Newsletter No.11 25 May 2018

Hello Coderzombie, thank you for your work reviewing New Pages!

ACTRIAL:

  • WP:ACREQ has been implemented. The flow at the feed has dropped back to the levels during the trial. However, the backlog is on the rise again so please consider reviewing a few extra articles each day; a backlog approaching 5,000 is still far too high. An effort is also needed to ensure that older unsuitable older pages at the back of the queue do not get automatically indexed for Google.

Deletion tags

  • Do bear in mind that articles in the feed showing the trash can icon may have been tagged by inexperienced or non NPR rights holders. They require your further verification.

Backlog drive:

  • A backlog drive will take place from 10 through 20 June. Check out our talk page at WT:NPR for more details. NOTE: It is extremely important that we focus on quality reviewing. Despite our goal of reducing the backlog as much as possible, please do not rush while reviewing.

Editathons

  • There will be a large increase in the number of editathons in June. Please be gentle with new pages that obviously come from good faith participants, especially articles from developing economies and ones about female subjects. Consider using the 'move to draft' tool rather than bluntly tagging articles that may have potential but which cannot yet reside in mainspace.

Paid editing - new policy

  • Now that ACTRIAL is ACREQ, please be sure to look for tell-tale signs of undisclosed paid editing. Contact the creator if appropriate, and submit the issue to WP:COIN if necessary. There is a new global WMF policy that requires paid editors to connect to their adverts.

Subject-specific notability guidelines

  • The box at the right contains each of the subject-specific notability guidelines, please review any that are relevant BEFORE nominating an article for deletion.
  • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves with the new version of the notability guidelines for organisations and companies.

Not English

  • A common issue: Pages not in English or poor, unattributed machine translations should not reside in main space even if they are stubs. Please ensure you are familiar with WP:NPPNE. Check in Google for the language and content, tag as required, then move to draft if they do have potential.

News

  • Development is underway by the WMF on upgrades to the New Pages Feed, in particular ORES features that will help to identify COPYVIOs, and more granular options for selecting articles to review.
  • The next issue of The Signpost has been published. The newspaper is one of the best ways to stay up to date with news and new developments. between our newsletters.

Hey, so what do you think about adding entries for released players who don't have a club "officially" yet? I kind of thought that we should only add players who officially moved to a new club, not guys who were released. We could do what they did here and have a separate section for players who were released but who haven't found a new club yet. Thoughts? --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 13:32, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

@ArsenalFan700: Honestly, I only added the players, so we don't lose track of them. With so many transfers, it might be hard. I don't mind them being removed either. Coderzombie (talk) 14:49, 1 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi. I am planning to submit one of my article for GA nomination. Since, I don't know much on review of articles, I saw GA nomination criteria and am trying to modify the article based on criteria. Since one of them is regarding the plagiarism, can you tell/help me on how to check for plagiarism of Wiki article? Thanks. Sagavaj (talk) 14:24, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

Yes, I am concerned about my own edits. Initially, I used to lift entire lines if it seems really good from sources. Instead of checking each line, is there any easy way to check for those? Thanks. Sagavaj (talk) 15:16, 3 June 2018 (UTC)
Hmmm. Anyway thanks for the information. I will try to look into multiple sources. Sagavaj (talk) 15:24, 3 June 2018 (UTC)

Article on Sunil Chhetri

Sunil Chhetri recently appeared for the 100th time for India in a match against Kenya in the Intercontinental cup [1] while Baichung Bhutia has 104 caps to his name [2]. Please independently verify edits before you reverse them Meet.nick (talk) 13:11, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

Please tell me how to create pages with my own username like this User:Coderzombie/2018–19 Bengaluru FC season.

Aditya debnath wiki (talkcontribs) 15:28, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

@Aditya debnath wiki:, you can get started just with URL e.g. [1] and start editing the page. Hope that helps. Coderzombie (talk) 16:27, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

Yes that helped thanks a lot. But a question, do you have more pages with your username, if yes how to find them. Aditya debnath wiki (talkcontribs) 22:05, 25 June 2018 (UTC)

2018-19 season

Please kindly create a draft for the following articles:-

@Aditya debnath wiki: not all of the articles you have mentioned are notable, so they don't need a page of their own. The better discussion place for the same is, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/India task force Coderzombie (talk) 04:26, 2 July 2018 (UTC)

Several countries have wikipedia articles for under 15 or under 16 football tournaments.Aditya debnath wiki (talk) 03:21, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

If it is not notable then let me keep this article under my name and improving my article.Aditya debnath wiki (talk) 03:23, 22 July 2018 (UTC)

@Aditya debnath wiki: The discussion is not about the content, it's about notability, but if you think you can improve it, I'll move the page to your user page. Please nominate the page under speedy delete and ask administrators to move the page to user space. Coderzombie (talk) 04:21, 22 July 2018 (UTC)
