Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Abscess may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "<>"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • ], "precious stones of a red or fiery colour", usually [[garnet]]s.<ref>[[OED]], "Carbuncle": 1) stone, 3) medical</ref>

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 04:12, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Communpedia Tribal (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

I have been hit by a range block. It is entirely unconnected with my own editing activity here. Could somebody re-enable me as an editor, when you get a chance? Communpedia Tribal, January 2017.

Decline reason:

There's nothing we can do without knowing the affected IP address. So please make a new request that includes the actual message you get when you try to edit, and include your IP address. If you wish to keep your IP address confidential, please use WP:UTRS. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:41, 18 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Experiment by me, others may disregard:

Please, I need your help

[edit]

Communpedia, Hello. How are you? I hope that fine. Well. I write you because i have a problem with the images as you in my wiki and i need to know how you fixed it. I see your wiki and i can see the images, so, I think you achieved to fix it. Please :( --181.55.114.245 (talk) 05:25, 20 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I used a very crude method. I put one additional .PHP file on my wiki. I called it iperms.php , and it contains this code:
 shell_exec('chmod o+rx -R ../images');
This causes the PHP interpreter to issue a single Linux shell command ('chmod...') which resets the read permissions of all files in the /images directory. This makes it so that people can see the images.
To run this PHP script you just put its address in your web browser and press "Go". Eg., I go to this address with my web browser: https://comun.ourproject.org/en/w/c_a_add-ons/iperms.php
My method is crude because you have to do this every time you upload a new image. It is also crude because it resets the permissions of all images, not just the new one -- so it is inefficient. However, I think it is OK for a small wiki.
I put a link on my wiki so that other users can run the script after they upload an image. For example, they can get the link from this page: https://comun.ourproject.org/en/w/index.php?title=Communist_Wiki:Image_upload
I think the underlying cause of the problem may be that I didn't install the wiki on the server as 'root' user. I installed it using the user account that the server administrators gave me. I think maybe Wikimedia expects to be installed by 'root' user.
Good luck Communpedia Tribal (talk) 04:11, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your help, it's a good solution for now... However the thumbnails doesn't work :( Could you say me what can i do? And did you try to send a email for the admins about this mistake? I did that but they don't answer me :/ --181.55.114.245 (talk) 04:23, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think the thumbnails are in a subfolder of the /images/ folder. I don't kow why they aren't working for you. Maybe they're in a different place in your version of MediaWiki. Try to find them and change their permissions manually; see what happens.
I don't think I e-mailed the admins at ourproject about this. -- Communpedia Tribal (talk) 00:54, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
It's the same version like your site. MediaWiki 1.30. And the folder (thumb) doesn't create, I try to create by myself but doesn't work either. MediaWiki isn't generating the thumbnails...--181.55.114.245 (talk) 04:27, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
On my wiki there is a subfolder of the /images/ folder called /thumb/ . This contains the thumbnails. Here is an example: https://comun.ourproject.org/en/w/images/thumb/1/17/Flag_of_the_Communist_Party_of_Vietnam.png/150px-Flag_of_the_Communist_Party_of_Vietnam.png
I don't know why your wiki isn't generating thumbs. It seems odd that it wouldn't, since my wiki is the same version on the same platform. -- Communpedia Tribal (talk) 22:17, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Good news, I tried to do what is written here and its worked :D --181.55.114.245 (talk) 07:00, 9 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Size

[edit]

How about we merge the 'size' content into the main article, and then split the 'history' section out? DS (talk) 04:38, 29 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
