hey[edit]

How many lines do I have to fill, for my article to be accepted, I want to make as brief as possible, cuz my english isn't good for me to expand it. What's the minimal content? :-) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cold water (talkcontribs) 20:07, 26 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I took the speedy tag off this article as the author amended it to assert notabililty. This is juts to let you know in case you want to take the article to afd. Cheers. --Spartaz Humbug! 20:34, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Administration[edit]

How would I get in contact with administration?

Thanks, again[edit]

Thanks, again!

Sure[edit]

Sure, what would i have to do?

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for all of your help with one of my first articles. I am very new neophyte to wikipedia and BlackBear has helped me. They not only should me the guidelines for articles and other things but also showed me different ways about wikipedia and other tips and trick to help improve wikipedia. They have just been a great help to me! Thanks! --Runningcupcake03 01:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One more question[edit]

I have one more question. Is it possible to promote my articles? Such as so it will appear on google search because right now it isnt, but when i search something else one of the first choices is wikipedia. Do you know if you can promote the article?--Runningcupcake03 01:38, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You RfA[edit]

I have added two questions to your RfA. They are optional, of course. Good luck, Gwernol 01:55, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your RfA[edit]

I'm sorry to tell you, but I just closed your request for adminship, as it didn't have a snowball's chance in hell of passing. Follow the advice from the comments left, continue editing in the areas you enjoy, get an editor review, and read through WP:GRFA to see what adminship is about. Keep up the good work! :) Majorly (o rly?) 10:46, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Soul dualism[edit]

Dear BlackBear,

Thank You for Your message which You left about the speedy deletion of the recently created Soul dualism article. My motivation for having created it can be read on the talk page of the article. Meanwhile, I have extended the article to reach the level of an {{anthropolgy-stub}}: added a lead text, write small example, added many refencesboth online and paper. If the “speedy deletion” template can be regarded as no more valid, how could I get it removed?

Thank You inadvance,

best wishes and much luck in Wikipedia work,

Physis 15:51, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FBI FAR[edit]

Hey BlackBear, I removed Federal Bureau of Investigation from the Featured Article Review. The FAR is for featured articles that might no longer meet the standards for a featured article. FBI isn't a featured article. If you still would like to get feedback, you could request a peer review, but before doing so, I'd suggest going over the feedback from an earlier peer review and the comments from the good article review (listed at the top of its talk page). Re: Tax deductible theatre company[edit]

Re your message: There seems to be some independent coverage of this company, though it's very slim. The article is rather weak, but I suppose it's possible that it could be salvaged. I would recommend an AfD if you would like to pursue it further. -- Gogo Dodo 01:42, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: I had hoped that the original author would have returned and addressed the points brought up, but it appears that they are not likely to return. There were a few outside sources that I found, but since the original author has failed to return to address them, I'm not particularly interested in trying to fix the article. It looks like it's going to get deleted, which is fine with me. Sorry about dragging out the process, but I was feeling particularly AGF that day and hoped the original author would return. -- Gogo Dodo 03:56, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Several points. First of all- it is generally best to tag articles for speedy deletion only once. Secondly, items on WP:NOT are not criteria for speedy deletion. Thirdly, I am not quite sure what makes you so certain that it should be deleted- all it was was a clumsy redirect. I have corrected it to a real redirect and removed your speedy delete tags. I was going to tag the above article. I noticed your talk page note to the originator. Briefly; there is no tag on the article. cheers! --Stormbay 03:08, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why should the Steve Radespiel page be deleted. He is a notable alumni of Dwight Morrfow High School, and was a professional athlete. You would delete this page, yet leave a page for Joey Travolta? User: Aradespiel 29: 35, 8 April 2007

I noticed that you created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James Gouraly. I wanted to let you know that the article's creator spelled the name incorrectly in the article's title, which is why people searching for James Gouraly on Google won't find many hits. The correct spelling is James Gourlay. There are many Google hits for him when you search on Google with the correct spelling. His records alone make him notable, I think. --Eastmain 01:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent AIV report[edit]

You recently reported 72.88.218.235 (talk · contribs) at WP:AIV. I've removed that report for now, as it seems to be a content dispute, rather than simple vandalism (as is fairly strictly defined by WP:VAND). If you'd still like to request admin attention, feel free to post to the admin noticeboard or the incidents subpage in particular. AIV does have a fast response time, generally, but covers a narrow scope. Anyway, let me know if you have any questions, I know all this is a bit convoluted. – Luna Santin (talk) 00:45, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Vandalism[edit]

I am so completely pissed off at vandals, I am considering quitting wikipedia. It seems that half of the recent changes by unregistered users is some sort of vandalism. I have been trying to convert as much as possible, but I'd bet over 100 vandalisms of this type occur every minute. What can I do to help? For the last hour, I've been reverting stupid edits. I removed the speedy tag that you placed on Malik Adnan Hayat Noon, because current or former members of a national parliament are automatically considered notable, and this person was a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. WP:BIO states that "Politicians who have held international, national or statewide/provincewide office, and members and former members of a national, state or provincial legislatures" are automatically considered notable. --Eastmain 22:58, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: userpages vs. usertalk pages[edit]

I am not sure what you mean by the message you left on my talk page. Is leaving messages for others on the talk pages something you think I should or should not be doing, and where did I do the incorrect version? Eggishorn 00:47, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would love to help, but as I am currently preparing to go to a conference, I regret to say that I do not have the time to contact the admin who governs the IP address at this time. Your AfD on Lion Capital LLP[edit]

Y'know, especially upon looking back on your talk page and seeing that you filed prods on the Malik Adnan Hayat Noon, Steve Radespiel and the Maria Gomori articles in the same minute as they were created, you display a pattern of insta-filing on articles almost before the creators have blown smoke from their fingers, and seemingly without the slightest attempt on your part to uncover any level of notability on the subject's part. A little fact checking, especially where articles (as with the Radespiel one, for instance) contain prima facie assertions of notability, would save a lot of trouble on the part of other editors; alternatively, you could even give as much as a day for the creators to finish up the prelim work themselves.  RGTraynor  15:25, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not vandalizing Windcharger[edit]

Please look more closely. I moved the informaiton on that audio book to it's own page. I was the one who put that information on the WIndcharger page in the first place, and people complained it should be on it's own page. So I put in there, removed it from the windcharger page and put a link. user:mathewignash

Vandalism[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you had reported someone for vandalism, and I was wondering if you could help me. While I was on the Russell, Ontario article, I noticed that someone had been writing inappropriate and illogical things all over the article. I wrote a bunch of things about this in the talk page after I had erased a lot of the stuff, such as the meow-meow-mohawk tribe. I can't seem to find out who vandalized the page, therefore I cannot report them. I was wondering if you could try and find out who vandalized the page, and report them. I have contacted one major suspect, and asked him if he did it. But I doubt he did it because from the looks of his talk-page, he seems to be very anti-vandalism. This suspect is User:Billy227.

Premature WP:AIV reports[edit]

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you.

All three users you reported had no edits after a recent warning. —dgiestc 15:49, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First, what are you talking about? I know at least one user has made recent vandalistic contributions, particulary 207.69.139.151. Second, I would appreciate it if you wouldn't template me. I've made so many edits to WP:AIV that I know what I'm doing. If I've made a mistake, please forgive me, and I'm not going to repost the users. But please don't template me. Cool BlueLight my Fire! 15:53, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
As an example, look at this report:
Warnings on April 18th and today at 15:43, but last edit was at 15:40. No edits since a recent warnings. IP addresses are dynamic and the person who vandalized a week ago may be a different person than today. Secondly, yes I know WP:DTTR but when AIV is backlogged and I see someone make 3 invalid reports at once, saving time is important and note that I left a personalized addendum saying what the specific problem was. —dgiestc 15:58, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I honestly don't see the problem. Vandalism is vandalism. They've had their last warning. Cool BlueLight my Fire! 16:00, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A "last warning" applies to a specific user. An IP is not generally asigned to a single person, they are shared across an ISP and are periodically assigned to other customers using DHCP. Therefore in general, an IP must have had a warning in the last day or so to be sure it was the same person who did both vandalisms. There are exceptions though, such as for shared/school IPs, and when by the nature of the vandalism it is obviously the same person. For more information on the blocking policy, see WP:BLOCK. —dgiestc 16:05, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bmader[edit]

Thanks for the message. And yes, right now i've made about 12 corrections and even banned a few people. I've also created my watch page page. I'll keep you posted.

Wow, in the time it took me to type this, i have made a LOT more corrections.
I've decided not to publish the article. How do you create your own projects?
How did you put all those templates and pictures on your user page?
How did you put all those templates and pictures on your user page?
Could you put your templates onto my page for me?
Could you do all of them and then I'll just delete the ones i don't want?
Could you start sending them?
Yes I am! But that's not the point. How about one on all of the following topics: FBI, paleontology, Dungeons and Dragons, that vandalism thing you have, computers, the american flag, and just about everything you have because in fact I am part of most of those things. By the way, thanks for all of the help your giving me.
Thanks. I just finished creating the Dungeons & Dragons Wikiproject homepage if you want to check it out. If you can, just tell a bunch of people through talk pages about it.
Alright, the template looks good. I deleted all of the user templates i think are unnessecary.
Hey Jake, i just warned a few guys from vandalizing, and it's awesome!!

I appreciate your concern over an empty article which I have just created. It's not entirely empty as it is a work in progress. I think you were a little rash into tell me. Maybe I was too in creating this article. Nothing to worry, it will be filled out soon. Dat789 22:21, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

I did sign your post with four tildes. Dat789 22:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC) But I have noticed that it doesn't create a link surrounding my username and I have no idea why it does that. Dat789 22:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed that you recently moved Jordanhill railway station to Jordanhill Railway Station without discussing it on the talk page first. I reversed it, because there hadn't been any previous discussion, and because the MOS says to prefer not capitalizing words in the title unless they are part of a proper name. If you think the article should be at Jordanhill Railway Station, please use the process at Wikipedia:Requested moves to discuss such a change beforehand. Thanks. Warnings[edit]

I noticed you put the above article up for another peer review saying you want to get it Featured. I searched through the edit history and noticed that you have never edited the page. I have worked extensively on this article and improved it to GA quality and through its first FA nomination. I was wondering why you are taking on this task? Is it a result of the WP:BOUNTY I placed? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for anybody wanting to improve this article and rest assured I will be monitoring the PR and your progress and will help in any way I can. It has been a goal of mine to get this Featured. Honestly, one of the things I was waiting on was rewriting the History section so it covers a proportionate sample of the history of OU. Right now, its heavily weighted in certain areas such as recent history. I have a book that covers the history from its founding to 1917 but I need more stuff for everything in between. Nevertheless, good luck with the article. As I said, I'll definitely help out.↔NMajdantalk 05:16, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
