Hello, Coryphantha. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, El secuestro de un policía (film), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Notice

The article Raquel Pankowsky has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Nick Moyes (talk) 00:16, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

Sandbox

Your sandbox is for you to make these types of contributions. Not for you to use it as if it were your main user page, it is true that you are free to do what you want with your sandbox. But it is totally unnecessary to create incomplete Drafts.--Philip J FryTalk 15:14, 25 May 2018 (UTC)

User talk:Philip J Fry I've seen it both ways, but I'll change it if you'd like. Coryphantha (talk) 01:15, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
User talk:Philip J Fry According to Wikipedia:Drafts "Drafts are meant to be works in progress". Is it your opinion that the draft should be complete before the draft is published or is it acceptable to use the draft space to edit the draft from start to finish or edit an article from start to finish in the sandbox and then move it to the draft space? Coryphantha (talk) 01:34, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
Well to do this. I would prefer that you edit in your sandbox.--Philip J FryTalk 17:43, 28 May 2018 (UTC)
User talk:Philip J Fry As you see I have removed the editing from the draft, per your request, I am unable to delete the draft however. The article for Hector Ortega is coming along, I have edited quite a bit since your first message. I was sidetracked a bit after starting the draft because I had received a message that Raquel Pankowsky's article was in danger of deletion because the ref citations had been edited incorrectly and felt it was important to address that issue first. Please let me know when is it the right time to start a draft page for a new article, how do you prefer it, when the editing is nearly done and ready for submit or when it's completely done? What exactly is your policy? Coryphantha (talk) 17:56, 28 May 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for June 25

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Un gancho al corazón, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Javier Ortiz (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).

When I say he's considered one of the greatest of all time, I'm paraphrasing a quote used later on in the article. Pveluri (talk) 22:13, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

Pveluri, Please read NPOV and Attributing and specifying biased statements. If it's a quote, it was not in quotation marks, nor was there a citation for the quote, nor does it belong in the lede. WP has a policy of neutrality, one person's "greatest actor of all time" is not another person's "greatest actor". I've barely heard of him. When I think of "greatest actor" I think of somebody like Charlton Heston or John Wayne, it's best to stick to the facts, not opinions, even quoted ones. Read up on NPOV, it will be a big help. Best wishes! Coryphantha Talk 01:40, 29 June 2018 (UTC)

Teahouse

Thanks for your answer to the new user. From your answer, I think you probably saw that in response to the user's second, more civil question, I left on my talk page a detailed explanation for reverting his edit. Perhaps he (?) did not look for an answer and perhaps I should have added it to his talk page. Since he seemed rather worked up about the matter, I assume he looked at the reply. Even if not, I think he may have carried it further. In any event, his characterization of the article and of his edit is far from accurate as the detailed reply on my talk page indicates. I leave this message in the unlikely instance that you need to refer to my talk page reply. Again, thanks. Donner60 (talk) 05:14, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

Donner60 I read RekaFil's comments on your talk page, even the reverted ones, in addition to his edit. He did seem rather heated up over his one and only unsourced edit being reverted. He probably did see your reply and didn't like it, but even experienced editors have comments reverted once in awhile so he should try and get used to it. Hopefully he catches up on the reading I sent him in the welcome greeting. Coryphantha Talk 12:51, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks. You handled this very well. I now think this may be a rather young person. I hope he has the sense to follow your advice and to edit more carefully. You are correct that we all have comments or edits reverted if we stay around long enough. We all can make mistakes. The important thing is to quickly correct them or to realize a valid correction or further edit has been made. I think my talk page shows a few examples where I acknowledge my mistakes and even strike warning messages when a user gives me an explanation which shows that I was wrong or even that they have merely made an unintentional mistake or incomplete edit. That was not the case here. Donner60 (talk) 22:19, 30 June 2018 (UTC)
Thank you. I've done my best to pay attention to how things are handled at the Teahouse, but I still have a lot to learn. It's just a matter of following by example from those more experienced than I. Thanks again. Coryphantha Talk 01:12, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

Top End

I suggest that you take an understanding of Australia before you start making claims. The Top End (yes there is an article) is very well known to the the top half of the Northern Territory. Your edit summary ("The Top End" is a regional nickname and may not be understood by users not familiar with this region." is totally ignoring that we don't call places to suit those outside of the country. North Australia is used to cover a broad area (Northern WA, NT and Qld; e.g. Australian Government Office of Northern Australia and map on the ABC). You'll see "Top End" being used to refer to the top half of the NT (e.g. ABC Rural, NT Health, Environment Centre NT, ABS "At June 2011, the population of Darwin SD, which is in the Top End of the NT and includes the LGAs of Darwin (C), Palmerston (C) and Litchfield (M), was 128,100 people. " ect). Also do not place invalid warning on user talk pages, no MOS was violated. Bidgee (talk) 23:09, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

Bidgee I apologize if you are upset at my reversion, however may I remind you that people who read Wikipedia are English speakers worldwide. People looking to read about Darwin, Northern Territory aren't just people from Australia. I will leave your subsequent region specific edit as is. May I suggest you take an understanding of WP:AGF and WP:Civil? Coryphantha Talk 23:33, 12 August 2018 (UTC)

"however may I remind you that people who read Wikipedia are English speakers worldwide" How insulting to think that I'm not an English speaker, Australia does speak English. So we should go and do the same for US articles, just stop and think about what you're saying and the actions you're doing. I'm being civil and AGF, it was you who didn't AGF. Bidgee (talk) 23:38, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
Bidgee I didn't suggest that you weren't an English speaker, how did you come up with that? My point was that people who speak English worldwide read articles about Australia, not just people in Australia who also happen to speak English. I'm sorry you missed the point. I did agree to leave your subsequent edit. And I hold to my previous point about civility. Coryphantha Talk 23:42, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
Do I really need to point it out? "who read Wikipedia are English speakers worldwide" implies that I'm non-English, which would apply to anyone in Australia. Also suggest you read up on MOS:ENGVAR... Also you failed AGF with the template warning on my talk that was totally bogus, since no MOS was violated. I've been civil and AGF (FYI, I'm a long term editor and have been since 2005, so don't treat me like a newbie), as I've questioned your actions and contributions, not you personally. Bidgee (talk) 23:52, 12 August 2018 (UTC)
Bidgee I in no way implied that you were not an English speaker, I still cannot understand how you came up with that. I do apologize if I've upset you in any way. Coryphantha Talk 00:10, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
english such a lovely language, I agree with Bidgee here your turn of US engish phraseology does appear to be a very clear insult suggesting that Australians dont speak english. The edit to replace North Australia with Top end is the correct move because that is exactly how sources refer to region as per MOS. Sources about the Darwin area all use Top end or Northern Territory, in Queensland its north is referred to as the "Far north Queensalnd(FNQ)" or Western Australia where its the Northwest or Kimberley. Top End has historical and political significance from when what now is the Northern Territory was part of South Australia. North Australia has whole different set of meanings making it an inappropriate term to use in way it was used. Gnangarra 02:03, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
Gnangarra At no time did I imply that Bidgee was not an English speaker, my point was that people around the world who speak English use Wikipedia, not just people from Australia, although it was inferred otherwise. As an English speaking American I am well aware that there is a huge population of English speakers in Australia, that fact is widely known in America, that's why I don't understand how it could've been taken the wrong way, and I still don't. I have already apologized for my revert and have agreed not to revert it again so I am surprised that this conversation still continues. I will not apologize again. Your comment: Raghuveer07

Hello, Coryphantha. i have made some changes and addtion to two pages related to Madhu Kishwar and Uddhav Thackrey. In one page related to Madhu Kishwar, unreliable sources have been used to write something which is sullying the repuation of the individual. I have already writting this comment there while making those changes - "Kindly see that there is no source provided to what is writtern after the 1st paragraph. In the fake news paragraph, I welcome your submissions, if u have strong views about it, but i have added one line, becuase it was looking like that person has been accused in general by everyone. However, I have checked those who have accused, it seems that they r strong critic of modi government. Hence, the statement needs to be qualified approporiately, as they sully the image of the person. Heading is not approporitate, it shuld highlight that these r controversies surrounding the individual."

In the second page related to Uddhav Thackrey, I have quote several sources which basically points to controversies surrourding the suject. If required, more sources can be added by me. This is the explanation I have provided . " Certain issues related to the subject have been which have been there in public doman and commented by the subject itself are missing from this artlcle. Relevant sources which are accepted by wikipedia have been added. Please do not remove this without proper jutification. Similar, things are added in the pages of other indivduals as well."

if possible, knidly provide explanation, that why you are warning me for deletion and modification of fews things from one page and addition of certain things which are properly qualified by me to another page. In case there is specific criteria that any article related to one person - Uddhav Thackrey- can be classified as biography and nothing related to controversied that they are involved in can be written about. in that case, i would like to ask you to allow me to change the article about Madhu Kishwar to biography as well. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raghuveer07 (talkcontribs) 04:07, 8 November 2020 (UTC) ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raghuveer07 (talkcontribs) 04:21, 8 November 2020 (UTC)

Raghuveer07 (talk · contribs) I actually didn't revert your edits, but your edits were improperly sourced. Four were opinion pieces, and one was an article based on what some people said on Twitter about someone; none were actually reliable. Please read WP:BLP about adding controversial information about living people on Wikipedia. While the content may or may not be true, WP is not the place for charged emotions about someone we don't like. That goes for you and any other editors on Uddhav Thackeray's article. Thanks for your response. I want to understand one thing, anything written about anyone should be factual and not a opinion or comment by individal/group. Even news articles (not opinion pieces)/research paper/reliable source may present a comment by one individial or group. Shouldnt anything written especially controversial about anyone then should be properly qualified, even if it quoting such as reliable source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Raghuveer07 (talkcontribs) 05:01, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
Rahuveer07 (talk · contribs) If you're going to use it on a Wikipedia article, it needs to have a reliable source. Please read WP:RELIABLE. Opinion pieces aren't always reliable and can tend to be WP:BIASED, so you want to look for news articles from reputable newspapers and magazines that are not connected to the subject. Wikipedia aims for a neutral tone, so look for WP:NEUTRAL sources. Try to remember when editing anything on a person's biographical article, that there are guidelines to follow WP:BLP, and a need to have that neutral tone I mentioned. If we didn't adhere to that policy, anyone could say anything about anyone and we'd all be expected to get away with it. Please read the links I gave you in this response, I hope this helps. Please remember to sign your comments with four tildes like this: ~~~~. Coryphantha Talk 02:02, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
