If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Courtney Ruiz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Drm310 (talk) 17:49, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself, as you apparently did at Courtney Ruiz. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Your username

[edit]

As you are not Courtney Ruiz, you should not user her name as your username. Our username policy includes WP:REALNAME: "Do not edit under a name that is likely to imply that you are (or are related to) a specific, identifiable person, unless it is your real name."

Please apply for a change of username. First, choose a new name. It could be related to your real name, but much better not - see WP:Guidance for younger editors, which is worth reading in full. It should not be the name of any other living person, or of any group or organization. Check whether it is already in use by typing "User:" into the search box at top right followed by the name, and clicking on the magnifying-glass icon at the right of the box. If the result looks like this, with a red notice saying that the account is not registered, you're OK; if not, try again.

Then click on Wikipedia:Changing username, read down to the bottom of that page, click on "Simple" and follow the instructions. For "reason" you can say "Current name is that of another living person". JohnCD (talk) 20:09, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Courtney Ruiz

[edit]

From what you wrote, it is not clear to me that Courtney Ruiz meets Wikipedia's notability standard for actors, which is explained at WP:NACTOR.

In any case, it is very important that an article has references to published information that confirms what it says. The Wikipedia:Verifiability policy is that "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source." For articles about living people, that is so important that they are automatically deleted after ten days if they are still unreferenced. Twitter, Youtube and such do not count as reliable sources, because anyone can write anything here.

I see you have started a version at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Courtney Ruiz and, if you want to carry on, the best thing to do would be to work on that and, when it is ready, click on the link "Submit your draft" at the bottom of the blue box. Then an experienced user will look at it and either accept it or give you feedback.

It wasn't displaying properly, because of a mistyped tag ("</ref?" instead of "</ref>"). I have fixed that. I have tweaked the heading "Childhood", as well, so that you can see how that should be done.

Note that the verifiability requirement means that you should not put in opinions like "has an incredible talent for art," only facts.

There is good advice at WP:Your first article.

Hello Courtneyruiz. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "Courtney Ruiz".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Courtney Ruiz}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 17:33, 16 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
