Guidelines

[edit]

Since you asked "where in Wikipedia policy it says that I can't have that World War III subpage":

check out here and here.

By itself, it's not doing much harm (although wikimirrors will probably grab it).

But think of the precedent it sets. DS (talk) 17:06, 16 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yugoslav infobox

[edit]

Hi. This is a very controversial area and the infobox has been the subject of a lot of debate on the talkpage. In the circumstances it is best to raise any changes you propose on the talkpage for discussion rather than make potentially controversial changes. Thanks. Fainites barleyscribs 22:12, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Um. All I did was call puppet Croatia "Croatia" and not the "Independent State of Croatia." I don't see any controversy at all in that. CuboneKing (talk) 22:14, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Virtually everything on the balkans articles is controversial. The Independent State was set up in Croatia before the Yugoslav army were defeated with the assistance of the Italians who had been hoarding the croatian fascists - Pavelic and that lot. Virtually any alteration to infoboxes or symbolic names or insignia is liable to cause an edit war on these pages. Therefore it is preferable to raise these matters on the talkpage first. If you think about it, if it is just "Croatia" then the link would take a reader to the the page on Croatia from year dot to date. However, the state that was an Axis ally during WWII was the Independent State of Croatia which has it's own article. Fainites barleyscribs 22:21, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It still links to the page of the Independent State, but the alternate text is "Croatia," and not the long name. It doesn't link to this page. CuboneKing (talk) 22:26, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK I just checked that to see. I'll put a note on the talkpage and see what other editors think.Fainites barleyscribs 22:28, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I see you've done that already. Thanks. Fainites barleyscribs 22:29, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
