Skip Garibaldi[edit]

hey, welcome to wp. i think i cleaned up this article enough to save it for now (we'll see). but if you want to do more biographical articles, esp about living people, it would be good to read these guidelines: WP:BLP. the article was actually fine except for the fact that it had no sources, which are essential in a biography of a living person. it might also be good to read the notability guideline WP:BIO, although garibaldi almost certainly meets it due to his holding the named professorship. anyway, good luck with your future endeavors at wp. let me know if you have questions. — alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 23:18, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

ok, this puts things in an entirely different light. it's good that you mentioned it. you should also read (or have others in your family who want to edit the article read) the guideline about writing stuff about yourself: WP:COI. it isn't so easy to do well, and it can be disconcerting if a bunch of people start editing it in ways that you don't like. you made a good start on the article, though, as i don't think anyone would have guessed that you were writing about a family member. — alf.laylah.wa.laylah (talk) 23:54, 16 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
