A barnstar

The Video Game Barnstar
For your various contributions to video game articles. Cyan Gardevoir (used EDIT!) 07:18, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Cyan Gardevoir for the barnstar! :D CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 07:26, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

While your edits and contributions are definitely appreciated, I must advise that in the future you be more cautious with your use of the Nihongo template. The template should only be used if the origin of the article subject is Japanese; in this case, Lee Everett is an American-born fictional character written by American writers. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 11:28, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Reminder

The test on your adoption page is under the collapsable box. If you could take a look and complete it sometime, it'd be great, then we can move on. Thanks! gwickwiretalkedits 05:45, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Thank you. Please don't make me panic! CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 20:13, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
I'll get it done later tonight. Thanks! ;) CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 04:40, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

Red links

Hi. I saw you removed the link I made for Students of the Road on the Demon Gaze article. Red linking, when you create a link to a page that doesn't exist, to notable topics is actually encouraged because it encourages other editors to create the article. Please see WP:REDLINK. So if we know that the topic we would be red linking to is notable, it is a good idea to add the link even if it only shows up red right now because then editors are encourage to click it and start the new article. It is for this reason that I think we should link to the game at this point even if it does not yet have an article. --Odie5533 (talk) 15:23, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Hello Curtaintoad, I did a non administrator closure on your request as you do not meet the points by Riley Huntley which is a CLEAR reason for access (There are others at AfC who have access such as TheSpecialUser) and experience with Wikipedia bots. Feel free to contact an admin like Riley Huntley and see if they disagree with my closure, if so your in the right and I am in the wrong. Take care and happy editing. John F. Lewis (talk) 15:28, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Adoption

Hello Curtaintoad, You may know me (From either denying your request for Edwardsbot or from my interactions with this user. I recently saw that your adoption was closed by the adoptee for a clear case of 'hat collecting'. I discussed this with a withstanding administrator over the action raised by the closing adoptee. As a result, I would be more than happy to re-adopt you and maybe solve some of these obvious hinders. I will be awaiting your reply, If you wish to discuss this more, feel free to email me or ask below, I will be watching your talkpage so please no TB. John F. Lewis (talk) 18:48, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Thanks. CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 20:38, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
I assume this is an acceptance? Once you confirm by 'I accept' Ill get a page for you within 20 minutes. John F. Lewis (talk) 20:39, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
I accept. :) CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 20:59, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
As you can see below all is done. Go to your adoption page and click on lessons in the table. Read through them and then complete the tasks it specifies. Once done, Add a message on my talkpage providing evidence of your work and that will be ticked and graded on the table at your adoption page. John F. Lewis (talk) 21:10, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
Also one thing I am considering doing for all adoptees, is doing regular contribution reviews. So add your adoption page to your watch-list and I will try and get and get a contribution review on there by tomorrow at latest. John F. Lewis (talk) 21:13, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks! Should I do it later or should I do it now? Cheers CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 07:44, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
When ever you want.i don't want to do any limiting so you can do one a day, one a week or the entire thing today. As long as the answers and tasks are done correctly as they affect your status on the encyclopaedia and whether you graduate. Regarding you contributions, they see, good except it is quite evident you are a hat collector. In future before going for any permission make sure you have enough experience in the topic. How long you have been on the encyclopaedia does not matter. You have been here longer than me and I am a reviewer and was turned out for rollback. I also have AWB and AFT Handcoding access. This is mainly (Well, AWB is I asked an admin) because I have been active in AfC and in reviewing and curating. If you do wish to become an administrator on the Wikipedia, please never state it. Sure say you hope to on your user page but don't go for reviewer stating your wish. If you are ever in question about whether to go for a permission, ask me, TheSpecialUser or another non administrator, sometimes non administrator observations are better than the administrators opinions themselves, especially if you don't know whether to go for it. John F. Lewis (talk) 16:40, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
Thank you! ;) CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 20:44, 18 December 2012 (UTC)
Being an admin's not all that it's crapped up to be; sure you get the tools but then you feel obligated to use them and take on complex issues, when you could be writing articles that you want to write instead. But when you use the tools, people yell at you when they don't like what you did. Some editors are not admins, and have been here for years, and are perfectly happy. But if you decide to go for it, I'd wait a year or two and get some solid experience first. --Rschen7754 21:06, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Rschen7754 for the help :) CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 21:11, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
Indeed Rschen, Also the process for adminship is a killer process. I know an admin who failed about 8 request before getting adminship. So not only the actual thing is not also time consuming and near stressful. Curtaintoad: When are you going to start your adoption lessons? John F. Lewis (talk) 21:17, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
I'll get them done later; I have to go to school around now. CURTAINTOAD! TALK! 21:22, 19 December 2012 (UTC)
It is the week end now. Perfect time to start your adoption work. Plus starting 2013 with a (part) adoption would be a great start. John F. Lewis (talk) 22:43, 22 December 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Adoption!

Welcome to the World of Adoption!

Hello, Curtaintoad, Thank you for joining my adoption program. If you visit the adoption centre you can view the lessons you will be tested/graded on. If you want you may also ask one of the successful or current adoptees what it is like.

You will be graded in percentages/raw data and you can find this information at the now reformed grading page.

- Your adoption pages should be available here. If this is a red link, Please contact me on my talk page as this may be a set up issue or simply a templating/magic wording issue.
