October 2022[edit]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 19:31, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Indie Classical requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://pdfcoffee.com/indie-classical-genre-pdf-free.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.  Velella  Velella Talk   22:15, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback, this was my first submission to Wikipedia and I neglected to check the copyright guidelines. I am the author of the article in question that was posted to this website https://pdfcoffee.com/indie-classical-genre-pdf-free.html but now I have sent an email to donate my work through Wikimedia Commons. I can corroborate that this article is mine because it is hosted on my personal website at (I can't link to it because it's hosted on an xyz domain) and I don't know how it made it to the pdfcoffee site in question. It appears to be a repository of academic articles and it probably obtained my document from my Academia.edu profile seen here [[1]]. Please let me know how I can proceed. Cutza (talk) 8:30 am, 23 October 2022, last Sunday (2 days ago) (UTC−6)

Accept reason:

The username has been changed now, and the copyright issue seems like it will be resolved soon. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 16:37, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Copyright issue is mostly resolved here. VRT agents can see ticket:2022102310007774 for permission, and vrtwiki:Undeletion requests#ticket:2022102310007774 for the only hold-up; Cutza, I'll be in touch about that if necessary, but it's just a procedural issue. As to the block, @Nihonjoe: I'm not seeing the promo and username vio here... is there something I'm missing? His username is the same as his website, but per WP:PROMONAME that's allowed for personal sites that don't function in order to generate any kind of income or revenue for the owner. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 04:51, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    • Since we can't really know if any income is derived from it, that's a difficult thing to determine. Regardless, they've changed their username, so it's a moot point. I've unblocked them. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 16:37, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much for your understanding, I really appreciate your time. Cutza (talk) 16:42, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have restored Draft:Indie Classical, and have placed {{free-content attribution}} on it so that it complies with Wikipedia:Plagiarism (a guideline separate from our copyright policy). -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 19:38, 25 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I thought we already went through this, please see above regarding the copyright clearance, and let me know if there's anything else I need to do to avoid this being an issue in the future. Thank you for your support. Cutza (talk) 03:59, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I hadn't completely looked through the history and forgot to notify you that the nomination was erroneous. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 04:26, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
