I just set up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leo_Madigan Can somebody tell me if the format ist correct --Cwardell (talk) 20:24, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The article Leo Madigan has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.  GILO   A&E 20:31, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please tell me how to add a reliable source and I'll gladly do it. Is the author himself not a reliable source? Are the quoted ISBN numbers not a reliable source? --91.113.20.196 (talk) 20:35, 26 November 2013 (UTC) --Cwardell (talk) 20:36, 26 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

PLease see reliable sources, citing sources, and Referencing for beginners. What counts as a reliable source depends on what it is being used to source. But the ideal source is independent of the subject, and is published by an organization with a reputation for fact checking. I will look at the articel you link to above. Geneanet

[edit]

Hi,

I have been trying to find something about Geneanet in Wikipedia and I saw this comment: 08:13, 5 February 2017 Premeditated Chaos (talk | contribs) deleted page Geneanet (Expired PROD, concern was: Does not meet WP:WEB or WP:GNG) (thank)

Surely, https://www.geneanet.org is relevant service. It's listed as one of the best free international genealogy websites https://www.familytreemagazine.com/premium/international-genealogy-websites-2017/

How can site with some 400 million records be considered irrelevant? What do Ancestry, MyHeritage, geni.com & Co. have that Geneanet doesn't?

Could somebody please explain? Thanks
