Perth[edit]

The article is as much more about the wider Perth metropolitan area - the website you added is for the central part - of the city - small problem - someone else will probably revert - but then the perth portal uses the city coat of arms - so it is an unresolvable mess of meaning - the article about the larger area and the website and portal pointing to the centre... Perth Metropolitan Region is a technical (legislative) article of how the Government defines the Metropolitan area, while Perth is talking about Metropolitan area itself. Also I'd recommend not adding your website, since you have a COI which you have disclosed (and thank you for doing that) but also the information on the site is unknown and not verified. Regarding BoM, I couldn't find monthly data for Perth for sea temperature, daylight hours or UV index.

Best site I can find is METOC for sea surface temperatures but unsure of its dataset and when it was last updated. ARPANSA for UV and the sunshine hours is cited on the first chart on the page. Though I would recommend that you cease adding your site, COI policy states that it isn't a good idea and also has WP:RSSELF issues. Bidgee (talk) 00:36, 17 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delayed response. I've noticed your announcement but couldn't respond earlier due to personal reasons. Yesterday I started to draft an answer, but now, I see that the notice has been migrated to archive and can not be edited, so I presume it would be appropriate to post an explanation here.

I can confirm everything from Mr.Kubaski's statement. Additionally, I can affirm that I have reached and offered help with his effort - after he has clearly dedicated a lot of time to contribute to Wikipedia, by inserting data presented mostly in numerals.

This proposal to aid was (now, obviously) a mistake from my side, it was done unthinkingly, but without any ill-thoughts. There weren't any incentive from our nor from Mr.Kubaski side.

So please clear Mr.Kubaski from this incident.

As for "my sake" argument, I can state the following:

I understand the idea of contributing to Wikipedia, the entire purpose of COI, and legitimate intention that you wanted to bring this subject to the wider community for a review.

..."I assumed that your (Mr.Kubaski's) additions were made in good faith"...

What I do not comprehend is that after reporting that "as a source, weather-atlas seems reasonable," after COI declaration, and without objections nor reverts in years from Wikipedia contributors/admins on other users' or mine usage of weather-atlas.com data for contributing to Wikipedia, my edits are perceived as "ill-faithed."

The last substantial contributions from my side were made months ago, sadly not much time for Wikipedia due to personal matters. All recent edits were enhancing and fixing Mr.Kubaski's references. Perhaps the info on % of total edits and references I have made, and the rough timeline of posting might be of some value (as I have been editing articles in my spare time, in periods with months gaps in between).

Please, inform me - what is the correct procedure on the premise that my additions were not made in good faith - as, at the moment, I feel discouraged from contributing to the Wiki project anymore.

On the other hand, archiving of this thread without any resolution is maybe a self-explanatory answer to this subject, and I am overreacting without a valid reason. :(
