Hello, you stated in your declination response that you needed verifiable references not mentions however I did leave 2. One is a write up from ThisIs50.com whixh is 50 Cents website. The other is from 96.3 radio an FM station based out of the artists home town Indy. There were not mentioms but full write ups on the artist. I know you said don't ask for advicd but at this point I am not sure what you would need. It is hard to reference the music as a producer without mentions. Would actual song titles and works be better?

Reference Guidance

Hi Mate, Please guide me on the reference list given in the article. I have submitted reliable sources of reference sites, but it doesn't work. so please consider this as my request for further guidance and to accept the article in future. Thanks in advance. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Venkatesh.S.Kandaswamy (talkcontribs) 10:42, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Venkatesh.S.Kandaswamy. Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in secondary sources that are published and reliable and are independent of the subject. Thank you David.moreno72 10:47, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi David, after careful consideration of the "notability" schema, I think Rod Pack's first chuteless skydive may belong under skydiving; is that right? Also there is no "save page" button, only publish changes Jfgottman (talk) 21:09, 13 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jfgottman. Wikipedia doesn't have a 'directory' structure, it has categories. See H:CAT for more information. Also, there is no 'save' button, but you can preview your changes before it goes 'live'. See WP:PREVIEW for more information. You can keep reviewing with the preview button and when you are happy with the changes, the edits will be published when you press the 'Publish changes' button. 07:03:15, 14 December 2017 review of submission by Makhdoomadnanshah

Dear David, the similar article is already there with the name of the person, but in my title I am writing the full name. That's Makhdoom Rashid, and I am writing Hazrat Makhdoom Abdul-Rasheed Haqqani <- his full name, my article is totally different where i am trying to write about his life and other things, where as other article is based on a town name. Please suggest me what should I do, what should be the title name, I will be very thankful to you.

@Makhdoomadnanshah: The confusion occurred because you hijacked the page. You shouldn't have done that. Now, the article is very, very poorly sourced. All the current references are unsuitable. References need to be inline, reliable and most importantly verify what is claimed. Please read WP:REFB Thank you David.moreno72 07:29, 14 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello Thanks for review and reply. Yes I do agree that subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia and I can improve it instead. I referred article and I strongly feel that it lacks in coverage. I cant update that as the way of describing and covering topic of interest is totally different. I request you to get existing and my article reviewed by experts without disclosing author details. I feel existing can be replaced with mine. For my article, I have checked for plagiarism using Turn-it and happy to convey that it is 0%. Thanks

Hi 202.166.211.83. The article is a BLP and needs inline references. To establish notability, there needs to be a minimum of 3 independent, reliable references and that have significant coverage. Two of the references you have provided ARE interviews and so are not independent. Thank you David.moreno72 11:08, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

Hey

So what could should I do now Even I have reduce the Career and biography

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Abishiekh_Jain

And the lengthy Biography and career is shorten to this:-

Till 2010, Abishiekh had no interest in technology nor gadgets and he kept himself away from it, as he thought it was a waste to spend time on, but now he is the one who cannot live without those, which made him famous and brought hackers den in his life.

Abishiekh never knew that by just proving his friend wrong will create a successful platform for him which will bring him laurels, fame, and money. Often in his interviews, he thanks his enemy who indirectly came and made a spark ignited in Abishiekh to start something.

Later, he began his page Hackers Den on May 10, 2014. ( when he was 14 years old ) Though, he left that page because he didn't have the time to post on their page. He didn't have money at that point, he wasn't earning, and he didn't have the guts to ask his father for money for the online things.

So he created a website in blogger with a free Blogspot domain and then shifting to a .tk domain (the name was very weird it was welcometoworldofhackers.tk) and started posting articles as it is and were all low quality, he acquired knowledge in programming but knew nothing about SEO, but yet people visited his site, and he never bothered about traffic, all he did was wrote the content, that's all. This page got a lot of recognition with 9k likes initially, and people loved his posts. His online friend Abhijit came to him and said Bigrock is offering free domains and he grabbed two domains which he is still using hackersdenabi.net and abishiekhjain.net

And he was on blogger platform. He wasn't earning anything online from hackers Den after its 1.5 years of launch, but he never thought about that. He never took Hackers Den seriously for one year after its launch and thought it as hobby until he got his first proposal to sell Hackers Den for 980 $ after it's the first-year launch and after his first interview, he turned his hobby into his career. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.166.211.83 (talk) 11:12, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

And I the link that I provided just a back are not interviews. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.166.211.83 (talk) 11:17, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

Hi 202.166.211.83. The article is a BLP and needs inline references that confirm/verify what is in the article. You must do this, otherwise it will continue to be declined. If it is not referenced, it can't be included. It doesn't have to be independent, just reliable. Next, to establish notability, there needs to be a minimum of 3 independent, reliable references and that have significant coverage. Interviews do not count. The article also needs to be completely rewritten as it is not in the 'voice of Wikipedia'. Thank you David.moreno72 12:54, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

Hey there. I saw that you left me a message when declining my article stating that Wikipedia requires significant coverage about the subject I'm referring to. That seems pretty logical but as I stated in WP help desk "When writing about a record label, and especially about an underground independent one, the amount of references one can find is pretty limited. I also believe that when a record label distributes music digitally, referencing their actual releases should be acceptable.". Do you have any reference in mind suitable for a case like this?

Forbidden links between articles published in wikipedia in different languages.

Hi David; It turned out that unique information available in German wikipedia cannot be mirror copied (via a direct link) into English and Italian wikipedia. I expect that this rule is justified. However, in the case of hardly available information, published in German language only, this problem becomes frustrating. We looked for several days to find other sources of information in vain. You can trace two particular cases already highlighted in English wikipedia (article 'Zener Prize' see e.g. Table no 1, Koster). Information on German scientist (he was active from 1935 to 1970) is not available in English. Old internal reports from his lab (hardly suitable for our article in wikipedia) are also published in German wikipedia. Translation of German pages into English is extremely difficult. Frankly speaking, we really do not know how to solve this problem.

Could you advice how we may circumvent this restriction? I hope that we may use a specific, clearly identified link just for 3-4 unique pieces of information available in German wikipedia, only. Looking forward to your advice. Thank you and a Happy New Year ... Andrew

P.S. This article is still a subject of small modifications to make it perfect. (Andrew3789 (talk) 19:30, 30 December 2017 (UTC))

Hi SamboValverde. Wikipedia can't be a reference. Also, the reference that was included was a single mention of the subjects surname. That was it. A single word. feedback on disapproved article - Transmed by Omar Dakdouk

(Omar Dakdouk (talk) 14:21, 3 January 2018 (UTC))

Hello David,

First, I want to wish you a happy new 2018 fulled with happiness and success :).

I recently wrote an article about "Transmed" which you rejected. I kept it simple so it can get approved especially that Wikipedia has a lot of prerequisites. I actually looked into already existing and approved pages for some help like Patchi so that my edits get approved, but they didnt. i also, i used Bloomberg and Zawya who are highly reputed companies to cite my entry.

is it possible for you to overturn your decision??

if not, then i will be following your advise and looking for more references listed in local newspaper and magazines and will try again.

hopefully it will be approved then.

thanks in advance.

Hi Omar Dakdouk. For an article to be accepted it must first satisfy WP:GNG. This is done by providing at least 3 reliable and, most importantly, independent references that have significant coverage about the subject. Reference 1 and 2 are investment profiles, and so do not satisfy the 'significant coverage'. Reference 3 is a press release, mostly about a company called Quiqup with only a passing reference to the subject. So not only does the reference not have significant coverage, but as it is a press release, it is also not independent. As the draft in its current state does not satisfy WP:GNG, if I were to approve and publish it, it would very quickly be nominated for deletion by other editors for failing to satisfy WP:GNG. So, it is up to you to provide references to satisfy WP:GNG. Thank you David.moreno72 03:06, 4 January 2018 (UTC)

Hey David! I'm wondering if you are taking messages at this time? I read all the info you provided to me about the reasons for not accepting my article. But, I am still wondering what exact changes I should make. It seems that I have significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. But, perhaps there are too many citations that aren't large publications like rolling stone. However, the band did receive reviews from publications (newspapers, radio, and magazines) that were completely independent of the band. Should i perhaps only include those citations and strike the others?

Yesterdaysfire (talk) 00:27, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Yesterdaysfire. The submission is for an album by a band that does not yet have a mainspace article, which is a requirement. Also, the article has only a single reference, which is not enough to satisfy WP:GNG. Both of these issues need to be addressed first. Thank you David.moreno72 00:35, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Yesterdaysfire (talk) 00:39, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Yesterdaysfire. You need to wait until the band page has been approved. In the meantime the album page can remain as an unsubmitted draft for 6 months (it's actually 6 months since the last edit). Also, as stated before, for the album page to be accepted it too must satisfy WP:GNG. Thank you David.moreno72 03:17, 5 January 2018 (UTC)

Asking about Rejection of Second Submission that included 20+ references on "notability"

Hi David, Thank you for your feedback on my first two submissions. I am new to Wikipedia editing, but am learning. At the encouragement of some professional colleagues, I drafted a page and had them edit it. They agreed it was fine. In my first submission, I did not include many outside references in the References section -- though they were embedded in the body. In my second submission I included the 20 or so references below from such employers as the Harvard Business School and Darden Graduate School of Business and publishers like Cambridge University Press and Prentice-Hall. I have written 20+ books in my field, written over 300 cases and technical notes, won professor of the year from my main professional organization and consulted for companies like GE and Coca Cola all over the world. The body of my page also includes a full page of various awards and honors. So, the notability hurdle seems to me over the bar, no?

Thank you for your time, consideration, and educating me on where I'm going wrong. Sincerely, James Clawson JAJISEE (talk) 21:21, 6 January 2018 (UTC) References

Hi JAJISEE and welcome to Wikipedia. First off, It appears that you are writing an autobiography, which is STRONGLY discouraged. Second, you have not declared your conflict of interest, which is a violation of Wikipedia's terms of use. In regards to the article, a copyright violation check returns with a 91.5% confidence and by all rights, the article should be deleted. The article does not contain a single inline reference, a requirement for BLP's. Most importantly, the article does not have a single published, secondary independent reference that has significant coverage, which is required to satisfy WP:GNG (All of the references are primary, eg. interviews, University pages, Author pages, books by the subject). This was clearly stated in my decline reason and still stands. You will need to address all of the concerns that I have outlined before resubmitting. Thank You David!

Hi David!

Thank you again for the recommendations and words of wisdom on how to compose an article properly! I plan on contributing many more articles on music groups that are somewhat lesser known in the commercial entertainment industry. Obscure bands from the 90s that many people have forgotten about, etc... But, my question is this: based on the requirements that have been deemed necessary for an article to be published (especially an independent, notable, and reliable reference for any topic), I'm wondering if it would even be possible to submit an article like this much less have expectations for it to be published. For example I would love to add an article about this band (whose music I love) that was active in the 90s in the D.C. hardcore scene but they never got much critical/notable acclaim: https://www.discogs.com/artist/303429-Lincoln-3 There is not much written online about them. But, I would love to let the greater community know about their existence if only a very brief explanation of their bands name, when they were active, member names, albums, track list, and location.

I know this may be a fairly boneheaded question to be asking and you may not have enough time to answer as I'm sure you are busy reviewing many other articles. But, if you felt inclined to send me a link to any help page that might be more specific to this kind of specific problem (and a remedy for it) I would be greatly in your debt!

Thanks again David! I really appreciate this!! Yesterdaysfire (talk) 09:44, 7 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Yesterdaysfire. You are more than welcome to submit any draft about obscure bands, so long as they meet the requirements of WP:GNG or WP:BAND. If it does not satisfy the criteria then an article on Wikipedia cannot be created. If you were to try and bypass the AfC process and create an article in mainspace that did not satisfy the criteria it would likely be speedily deleted per WP:A7 or nominated at WP:AFD. Thank you David.moreno72 00:58, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

(I'm not sure if its a standard feature or a plugin) I will often review the recently published AfC list. One of the best tools is Earwig's Copyvio Detector at https://tools.wmflabs.org/copyvios/. If you look at my recent edit history you will see that there have been quite a bit of copyrighted material that has slipped through the cracks. As a fellow AfCer, it would be great if you could also review the latest AfC's for copyright violations as I am not always able to check them. Thank you David.moreno72 08:37, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Next Step??

Hi, kindly have a look at my article titled "Asif Ghauri" .. I have added some references and inline citations , but I dont know the next step...how it will be published ?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kashifg (talkcontribs) 09:15, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Kashifg. I have reviewed your references and unfortunately they are not suitable. A reference must verify what is claimed, that is, when I read the reference, it actually says what is claimed. For instance, if someone worked at a company, a link to the company website is not enough. The linked page must actually have words that state that the person worked there. Also, there needs to be at least 3 references that have significant coverage of the subject. Also, the references don't start until the third section yet there are claims in the other paragraphs that don't have references. That will also need to be rectified. Thank you David.moreno72 12:11, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Dear David. Hope all is well. User Omar Dakdouk has reached for me asking for guidance, which I provided and several references have been added to the article. In addition, I understand that the transmed url is currently linking to the Trans-Mediterranean line article. Would it help if we changed the article url/ name to Transmed S.A.L as per the company registered name. Didn't want to to this prior to your final feedback in order to avoid any confusion.

Look forward to your feedback.

Tony

User

@Tony.bourached: There is no need to change the article url/name as if it is approved, the approver will do that. The main problem though is the lack of inline references. Although not absolutely required, it is highly recommended. I also notice that the references that you added have no 'mention' in the article body. That is not how references 'work'. It is expected that the reference actually supports/verifies what is in the paragraph. Also, when an inline reference is added it will automatically appear at the bottom where the {{Reflist}} text is. Please read WP:REF for further guidance. Thank you David.moreno72 00:44, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi David. Thank you for your patience with me again on this, as per your feedback above I have adjusted the article body and linked them to their respective and relevant references. In addition I have also linked "Quiqup" and "Beirut Marathon" mentions to their respective Wikipedia pages as they both cite Transmed as a partner and sponsor accordingly.

Awaiting your kind feedback on this latest edit. Thank you --Tony.bourached (talk) 17:02, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Draft: Matthijs Otterloo

Hi David,

I saw you declined my submission for https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Matthijs_Otterloo, why? The person got some reasonable mentions on the biggest news sites in The Netherlands. I think he's noteworthy enough to be on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.123.218.244 (talk) 14:19, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi 212.123.218.244. The draft was declined as the subject did not satisfy WP:GNG. The references have only passing mentions, some no more than the mention of the subjects name. There needs to be in depth and significant coverage. May I suggest that you read WP:AMOUNT. Thank you. David.moreno72 00:50, 15 January 2018 (UTC)

Rejection of my article

My article is being rejected twice. Firstly the article is about an Indian actor who acts in lead roles. I have linked the flims he has acted and to the wiki page also. Can you please assist me with the reason my article is getting declined? Navanit23 14:09, 16 January 2018 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Navanit23 (talkcontribs)

Hi Navanit23. The reason is because it has no inline references and does not satisfy WP:GNG. Thank you David.moreno72 14:19, 16 January 2018 (UTC)

hey, I am new to Wikipedia and I am still learning to use it. I have been a follower of Wikipedia and I have written the article as I am getting paid for the same. Please guide me regarding the various points that are lacking in the subject I have been asked to describe the business venture which is an online artwork attracting business for the founder. The artist who has founded the website is a well-known person as described by my client who is working for him and I really want to know the ways how it can be approved on Wikipedia but in case it is not having the ability to be submitted at all, please be clear about it as I have just started working and I do not want somebody to count on me and feel cheated. I have no issues as I too understand as I am doing my job so are you.

Anamikakhatri.001 (talk) 09:49, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

@Anamikakhatri.001:. I'm going to be frank and brutally honest. First off, per WP:COI, you must declare that you are getting paid for your services as it is not only a violation of Wikipedia's terms of use, it is actually illegal!!! Second, I would seriously consider giving the money back and admit to your employer that you are hopelessly under-qualified and do not posses the experience required to adequately perform the task. Not to do so is not only a breach of ethics, but is cause for you to be taken to court. To elaborate on your lack of ability, your first submission read like an advertisement, and advertisement is not permitted on Wikipedia. Did you bother to do any research on Wikipedia policies? The article was also declined by Heliosxeros, and in the grey box that was left by him was the statement 'Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject' and a link to WP:ORG, which details the requirements for company notability. Did you read where it said 'except for the following: any material written or published by the organization, directly or indirectly;', because what it told you not to do, you did!! How do you explain that? The links were provided to you, for your benefit and education, on 5, count them, 5 seperate occasions, and you continued to disregard and ignore them. Now, did you read WP:AMOUNT? Unfortunately, there is no amount of editing that can make the subject notable. A quick Google search reveals nothing of note. The subject clearly does not satisfy WP:GNG, and WP:GNG MUST (no exceptions) be satisfied before an article can be created per WP:ORGCRITE and WP:N. I'm sorry, but those are the policies of Wikipedia. End of conversation. Thank you David.moreno72 11:20, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to review Draft:Oren Kaplan. I am sorry for the lack of references, there are many references from the Israeli media on his importance but they are in hebrew.

I added an interwiki to his hebrew page (page exist for over a decade) and some sources in hebrew, hope if it helps.

Anyway, He has been appointed president of the largest and oldest college in Israel (of which I am a student) and I made sure that it counts as notability (section 6. "The person has held a highest-level elected or appointed administrative post at a major academic institution or major academic society." at Wikipedia:Notability_(academics)), his predecessor, Prof. Asher Tishler also has a page. hope this is enough and the links I added shows enough notability.

I would be more than happy to add or edit anything I can to meet the criteria.

thank you for your time!

Dear David, There is not any problem to referee reliable sources for all issues that are not supported by the high school mathematics and physic-chemistry. However, as you certainly have understood, the subject is a SToE updating the nobelist Lord Kelvin's vortex ring first idea in 1867, but with a new approach and consideration of the knowledge till now. Consequently this SToE is against the STANDAR MODEL which is protected by the Scientific Community (similarly to the protection of the geocentral theory by epicycles). In order to save your and my time you are kindly requested to confirm the possibility to fit this document to Wikipedia's policy. Just for your personal curiosity the STANDARD MODEL need super-computers to explain the stability of nucleus from protons and neutrons. Terrible mistake, from 1936 till now, consider neutrons as nucleons. The reality is that neutrons are unstable complexes of proton and electron (according to the SToE, the small thick ring of proton is in the center of the large and thin ring of electron). SToE need high school physics and mathematics (mainly stereo geometry’s tetrahedral and dodecahedral symmetry) to explain the stability of nucleus, consisting of protons in astable atom. Hi, David.moreno72. Firstly, thanks for your kindness and suggestions helping me create my first wiki page: iMobie. But there are still much more things I need to do. You have left me the comments "Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. The current references are not about the subject, but their products." on 17 Jan; "No newly added references that have significant coverage about the subject. This was mentioned in the previous decline but has been ignored. The subject is obviously not notable and easily fails" on 18 Jan.

The truth is that there are only some product-related references I can find and gather from the internet, and took lots of time but find no direct reference to the subject iMobie. Cloud you please give me another advice on this issue? Many thanks in advance.

A warm Good morning to you. I have made the changes to the Freshdesk wikipedia page according to the wikipedia policy with lots of citation. Please review it and give me your feedback.

Have a nice day!

@Mathivathan: Hi. The page has been protected from creation. Only an admin can now approve it. I am not an admin. You will need to raise it at WP:AN. Until then, please do not resubmit. Thank you David.moreno72 10:18, 25 January 2018 (UTC)

Dear David - Life in the Afc salt mine can get one down on occasion, so I just wanted to thank you for all that you've done and are doing. A record of reviewing that is truly impressive. All the best. KJP1 (talk) 21:42, 27 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi KJP1. Thanks for your appreciation and kind words. At the time of writing I've done at least 8,088 reviews. I used to do a lot of recent edit patrolling with Huggle (around 32,000 edits), and compared to that, AfC is a picnic. I've only had a couple of user page hijacks and account compromises!! Spare a thought for the true heroes of Wikipedia, the admins, such as RHaworth, Gilliam, Oshwah, Widr, TonyBallioni, NeilN and of course Materialscientist, who has over a million edits!!! I'm going to be a lot busier IRL this year so there will be a lot more fun left for you and the other hero reviewers!! Keep up the good work, and happy editing. why my draft is getting declined?

Arundevarajankrishnan (talk) 08:12, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Arundevarajankrishnan. Per WP:PROMO, Wikipedia is NOT for Self-promotion, and WP:COI, and I quote 'The Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require that editors who are being paid for their contributions disclose their employer (the person or organization who is paying for the edits); the client (the person or organization on whose behalf the edits are made); and any other relevant affiliation. This is the policy of the English Wikipedia.' You have not disclosed your COI and so your edits are in violation of the terms of use. Even if you were to disclose your COI, it doesn't satisfy WP:GNG. Thank you David.moreno72 08:23, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

An abandoned non-AfC userspace draft sent to AfC and declined will either get fixed and promoted or deleted G13. Either is a definitive result. The alternative, if no CSD applies, is MfD where a Keep result lands it back in the userspace draft backlog forever with no definitive path forward. It's very tough to check copyvio on my device and I'd rather move through the list and move 50 pages toward deletion or promotion then attempt to completely fix and review a simgle topic I'm no expert on. Hope that helps explain what you are seeing. Legacypac (talk) 09:44, 28 January 2018 (UTC)

A Reference Issue - GoLookUp

Hello David,

Thank you for reviewing the submission for GoLookUp (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:GoLookUp) as quickly as you have. I have a small question. The submission was declined due to "This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability. Wikipedia requires significant coverage (not just mere mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject". We have revised the value numerous times with different types of sources, but it seems to be insufficient. There are other values on Wikipedia similar to ours (stubs) with no refs at all, so I would be happy to know what to do.

Thank you very much in advance,

17:31:09, 29 January 2018 review of submission by Rarzon

Hi David -

Thank you for the review. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've included references in the footnotes. Do you need more references? I'm just trying to figure out how to get this approved. Rarzon (talk) 17:31, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi Rarzon. Welcome to Wikipedia. First of, I would like to remind you that writing an autobiography is strongly discouraged by Wikipedia. That being said, it is not prohibited. First of, you must disclose your conflict of interest. Second, delete everything and start from scratch. Now, Google your name and bookmark all the pages where there is significant coverage, and has been written independently (interviews, own web pages, twitter, instagram, facebook, amazon, youtube all don't count). If there are no pages to speak of, you can stop there. The article will not satisfy WP:GNG. Next, using only what has been written in the references, summarise in your own words. Read WP:FOOTNOTES. Then at the end of the sentence or paragraph, cite that reference using the toolbar at the top of the editor. So select, cite, then from the dropdown box, select 'cite web'. A popup will appear. like this Put the url into the textbox labelled URL and press the magnifying glass button. The boxes will be automatically filled in. Then press the icon next to Access date. Then press insert. A correctly formatted reference will be added. Repeat for every claim. Once you have completed the article, double check all the references by clicking on them. Only then submit to AfC. Thank you David.moreno72 01:14, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
