I need your help.[edit]

Well my apologies, I feel the article on Peter Jones is completely inadequate and as Ive said < Norman Harris is probably the greatest NZ sports writer and his biography on Peter Jones'Tiger' should be treated as the authority. Many great Britsh and Australian sportswriters would say equally savage things against Meads. IN terms of describing the Sth Africans as playign the game at the level of warfare and deliberately maiming players to order that is the way the game way played to me. My father who grew up at the time of th 1949 tour always said that wsa what to be expected on torus of Sth Africa. I think my contempt for current NZ sports journalists is more than justified. The way to play Sth Africa was to play them the way the Lions played them in the 1974 to totally close down the game. The general comments of Mike Gibson, JPR Williams and the Lions coaches in 1968, 1971 and 1974 would more than testity to my view.I would think Britis Lions like Duckham, JPR Williams and Barry Johns regarded the AllBlacks as little more than savages they would never have wanted to socialise with. Mike Gibson would be rather more polite — Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.154.158.185 (talk) 12:31, 30 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you tagged the article "Ivan Vladimirovich Gorokhov" for speedy deletion. The user who created that article also moved MY article "Ivan Gorokhov" (a different person) to "Ivan Rohov" for some inexplicable reason. I tried to correct that, but I think I just messed things up (especially the page history). Can you help?. WQUlrich (talk) 19:18, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

On further reflection, it appears he may have a.) been trying to shed that deletion tag, and b.) disambiguate his article from mine without really knowing how.WQUlrich (talk) 22:33, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I came up with a solution...not the best, but it maintains the integrity of the edit history, talk page and links. It would be better if I had the power to do rollbacks, but so it goes.WQUlrich (talk) 19:25, 15 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Declined speedy deletion nomination of Nasir Khanjan[edit]

Hello David.moreno72. Speedy deletion work is important and I do appreciate the effort. I would just ask that you please review the criteria carefully because accuracy is also important. On that issue, I have declined your speedy deletion nomination of Nasir Khanjan as an article that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the topic under CSD A7. That criterion did not apply because even though the article's prose did not appear to indicate "importance or significance", it contained citations to apparent secondary sources that are commonly recognized as reliable. This is implicitly considered to meet the "importance or significance" indication standard, because the existence of such sources (discussing the subject in detail) is a chief basis we use to assess whether a topic meets the higher standard of notability, on the merits at a discussion process such as AfD. Removed BLP PROD at Neeraj Gupta Artist[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to let you know I removed the BLP PROD you placed on Neeraj Gupta Artist because the article contained an external link to a page with the subjects biographical data, which make it ineligible for deletion under that policy. AfD would probably be the best method for dealing with this article. TonyBallioni (talk) 17:24, 18 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Draft article: Kristina Pimenova[edit]

Hi, I'd like to start from scratch at Draft:Kristina Pimenova as the current text is inaccurate, non-encyclopedic and promotional. Do I need to do something special? Can the 'submission declined' template be removed? Lyrda (talk) 21:11, 22 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Still waiting for your reply. Lyrda (talk) 23:16, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lyrda. Just delete the text you wish to change. The 'submission declined' though still needs to remain in place so that other reviewers can see the history. Happy editing, and a happy new year. Thanks. David.moreno72 03:28, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdays September 8[edit]

Hi david.morenoo72 You wrote me in regards to deleting Joe Sugg and Cameron Dallas from the September 8th dates of birth. I was unaware that on had to cite a source. Non of the other names have sources and I thought it is enough if the birthday is listed on that person's wikipedia page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Krr866 (talkcontribs) 11:50, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ned Kelly[edit]

See the Talk page for Ned Kelly to see why I replaced the sentence↓ you excised from the article. Generally, an editor is best advised to place a notice about a source being needed, rather than excise the unsourced statement from the article. I do sometimes break this rule, however, when (1) an unsourced statement is outrageously at odds with the rest of the article and its sources, or (2) when the statement is so poorly written that I cannot tell what it means, and, lacking the reference, cannot rewrite it. I don't see either of those exceptions applying in this case. In fact, it is somewhat common knowledge that Ned's father and his house were as described, and a requirement of a reference for that particular statement is somewhat draconian.

"He soon became notorious as a cattle thief and his house was a rendezvous where criminals of all kinds ::::hatched their plots."

hello mr david[edit]

you reverted my edits on the coco page but thats ok i understand because you were polite. i tried my best to cite a good source but adam9007 who is really rude reverted my edits on the source i was trying to cite. i am going to try again to add coco cadeaux onto the coco article and cite it properly. also i think you should teach adam9007 some manners he is really rude.

Hi David,

The earlier source of the New York Times also mentions he was buried in the military cemetery, which is the Bhowanipore cemetery. air rallying[edit]

Hi,

Was trying to add this to the page - but not very good with Wikipedia.

I put the FAI link there, if in wrong place, could you perhaps place correctly?

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.225.75.202 (talk) 10:39, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And can you put the motorbike/quad/truck correction back as well? Blindingly obvious that rallying is not limited just to cars! Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.225.75.202 (talk) 10:43, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 94.225.75.202. The page is about car rallying, not motorbike/quad/truck/plane. Thank-you David.moreno72 10:49, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, well the page title is "rallying"! Can you change it to "car rallying" - and then maybe I'll try and make a page (not sure how!) about air rallying (or truck, or bike etc.)? Thanks, Sam. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.225.75.202 (talk) 11:22, 3 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. I just thought it was a little rude to not let me finish editing first before invalidating what I was in the middle of doing.

I am not really into this wiki editing anyway. I am just in the process of finishing up a lengthy scholarly paper on women in the early Christian church post fall of ERE, was looking for some ideas for filler material to pad out the final pages, noticed the widely inaccurate definition of Beatri(x), and thought it would be an easy thing to change.

Lesson learned. Thanks. I will go back to off-line writing.

Yogita Bali[edit]

I want you to edit the page back to - we know our celebrity stories far better than strangers

(born on 29 December, 1952 in Mumbai) is a former Indian film actress.[1] Yogeeta Bali is the niece of late actress Geeta Bali. She has been married thrice, twice to actor/singer Kishore Kumar and Mithun Chakraborty respectively. Yogita Bali and Kishore Kumar first married unofficially without the consent of Yogita’s mother, and since the couple had married against her will, she rejected accepting their marriage. Then, the couple took help of Shammi Kapoor, who was husband of Geeta Bali to whom Yogita is niece, to console her mother. Later on, Yogita’s mother agreed to accept their marriage on one condition. The condition was that they should marry again officially. The couple agreed and they married second time.[4] please link this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYzoobouUmE

1. Career (bold letters) Yogeeta Bali Chakraborty produced the 2013 film Enemmy starring her son Mimoh and husband Mithun Chakraborty.[2] Bali was active in films in the late 1960s and through the 1970s. She is the niece of Bollywood actress Geeta Bali, Shammi Kapoor’s first wife. Bali was around at the same time as a lot of huge stars and so did not become a major star herself. Among her contemporaries were Reena Roy, Rakhee, Sharmila Tagore, Hema Malini, Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, and Zeenat Aman. She became singer/actor Kishore Kumar’s third wife in 1976 after the death of his second wife, Madhubala. He directed her and acted with her in “Shabhash Daddy” (1979). They divorced on August 4, 1978, and Bali married Mithun Chakraborty, thus also helping launch the singing career of Bappi Lahiri. Since initially Kishore Kumar refused to sing for Mithun, hence Bappi Lahiri, the music director of many of Mithun’s early films sang for Mithun himself. One of her most enjoyable films was Biwi-O-Biwi in which she starred opposite Sanjeev Kumar. She retired from films permanently to start a family. She has four children with Mithun, among them son Mohakshay and daughter Dishani. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vijay1700 (talkcontribs) 13:54, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Cannot understand your Puerto Galera Changes[edit]

The changes that you have made are not comprehensible and you are misrepresenting the situation of this Philippino city. Please be kind enough to explain the reason why you decided to remove almost all sources including Philippino statistics, UN and University sources. Let me take only a few examples :

a) you removed the new demographic numbers supported by National Statistics why ? b) you removed everything added about the economy of the city, weird but kept the names of the local supermarkets, do we really need to make advertisement for those guys ? c) you split tourism from economy which is a major component of the local economy, very odd ! d) you discarted the fact that despite a thesis written at Macquarie University (quoted in reference) a night life of prostitution and bars has strongly changed the stucture of the local economy why ? e) You removed the names of all the world known and well represented diving federations (CMAS, PADI) to keep only the anectodal TDA why ?

I really do not understand why you took this decision and don't think this is doing any good to this article. I recognize that more sources must be provided on the historical side (e.g. early settlement) and hope that others can contribute in here.

I would be curious to know if you have ever been there. Best, Oliver Olcoispeau (talk) 23:11, 26 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Olcoispeau. Unfortunately, there was just too much unsourced or poorly sourced material added. For instance, the History section was completly unsourced, the Hospitality section was relatively unsourced, and the source that was provided did not back the claims, and, was a PhD thesis, and so extreme care should be used per WP:SCHOLARSHIP, especially in this case as it has not been published in a journal. With regards to the 'new demographic numbers', they were unsourced and NOT supported by National Statistics (How could they be sourced when the link was dead). With regards to the Economy - Tourism section, all the links you provided were dead, and, the Diving & Sports section was only backed by a listing in Amazon, and not to any specific page number that could be verified. In the Tourism section you added that it was 'designated a Man and Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO in 1973', when the source says it was declared a just a Biosphere Reserve in 1977. All in all, your edits were just not suitable for Wikipedia. Thank-you. David.moreno72 07:59, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am not saying that what I did is perfect, I hope others can help to make it better too - isn't it the spirit of wikipedia ? When you see what is currently online, and given the plain and obvious lack of references, why didn't you removed everything : you are hitting me when the current PG article is laughable : a) on history I did my best to collect local ressources but I could not find university published papers yet !!! b) reverting the Economy section does not make any sense, how can you think that the names of the local supermarket and banks are more important than explaining the structure of the local economy (sic) ? and by the way tourism is economics ... c) demographic numbers are coming from national statistics and the reference web site may have been changed, I will check again. d) it is true that the information is not abundant on diving sources unless you go diving operators websites, I am mostly using crosschecks on local suppliers, have you been there? I have been so at least I know a little bit what I am talking about. e) Why do you tolerate this rampant advertisement on TDA (that one cannot really see there) without mentionning the other diving federations PADI and CMAS which are everywhere in PG. f) you keep saying that the reference lines are dead but they were not when I wrote this piece, I will recheck them.

I do not think that the way you are axing things "your way" is in the best interest of the Wikipedia reader community. Rgrs Olcoispeau (talk) 08:46, 27 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hudson Hill, Bronx article[edit]

Hi - thanks for the feedback. I will attempt to find a source. The problem is I am trying to prove a negative - that Hudson Hill is a bogus, realtor-invented name for the neighborhood in which I live. I've lived here 38 years and have never heard of it until this article. I think the real problem with this article is that IT has no real source for the name Hudson Hill. Read the footnotes - none of them supports the existence of the name Hudson Hill for this neighborhood. So, how can we address this? I did add a link in the 'references' section to my company's website because I noted that another company 'Kronus' -- based overseas - has done the same thing sand also added a photograph with their trade name. Edits in page: FORCE MOTORS LIMIED[edit]

Dear David,

With reference to removed edits on page of FORCE MOTORS LIMITED.

We edited the page in order to update the page however, the changes were rolledback by you. The existing page was created by a person who does not work with the organization as of now. I am working in Information Technology department of FORCE MOTORS LIMIED and wish to update the page with latest information.

Kindly let us know procedure to do latest updates in the ogranization's page. Waiting for your reply.

Regards, RSurendra (talk) 06:24, 2 February 2017 (UTC) Surendra Ranade IT, FORCE MOTORS LIMIED.[reply]

Hi RSurendra. The main reason for the rollback was the incorrect use of capitalisation. The company website uses correct capitalisation, that is, it is referred as to as Force Motors, and not as FORCE MOTORS. A quick Google search also confirms it. May I suggest that you read MOS:ALLCAPS, WP:MOSTM and http://grammar.yourdictionary.com/capitalization/10-rules-of-capitalization.html before making any further edits. Thank-you. Revert on Akram[edit]

Hi, just curious as to why you reverted this? I don't see anything wrong with adding another notable name to the page. A picture of a dead fish (talk) 10:47, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi A picture of a dead fish. Person is not notable as they do not have their own wiki page, which is a requirement. Thank-you David.moreno72 10:49, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Revert on Eswar goru[edit]

Hi, Am a newbie to english wikipedia I just want to know why you reverted my edit(infobox) on Government Polytechnic Tadepalligudem article. Your answer may help me to improve my wikipedia editing in future.

--Eswar goru (talk) 05:45, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Eswar goru. First off, your capitalisation was incorrect. Please see the post above this. Second, the logo is incorrectly attributed, that is, it is not your own work, and so is a copyright violation. Thank-you. David.moreno72 06:43, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Correct information has been reverted by you[edit]

Oaomar (talk) 10:39, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Feb 3rd, 2017,

David.moreno72 08:29, I received a message from you dated Monday, the 30th of January. Your message was regarding my correction to the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nubian_pyramids article. You have mentioned that my contribution was not appear to be constructive and I might be blocked from editing with no further warning. Please, allow me to explain to you my contribution and how they have corrected an intentionally false information.

Allow me to discuss the references of the article provided by the author, which are:

1- Cluster of 35 Ancient Pyramids and Graves Discovered in Sudan http://www.scienceworldreport.com/articles/4813/20130207/cluster-35-ancient-pyramids-graves-discovered-sudan.htm

3- Adams, Stephen (16 October 2008). "Ancient Egypt had powerful Sudan rival, British Museum dig shows". The Telegraph. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/sudan/3209644/Ancient-Egypt-had-powerful-Sudan-rival-British-Museum-dig-shows.html

The first reference comes from a website named scienceworldreport.com and from browsing the website and seeing all the ads an average person will figure the unprofessionalism and unreliability of this source. Whereas the second source links to a book on google books which is under the name “The Complete Pyramids” and from the description of the book, it talks about Egyptian Pyramids and has nothing to do with the Kushite Pyramids. The third reference comes from the telegraph website, which is well known British newspaper but never claimed the pyramids are Nubians in the article. The author Mr. Doug Weller of the article named “Nubian Pyramids” is spreading false information and label the Kushite Pyramids as Nubian Pyramids and this is what I have corrected. The Kushites started a civilization and a great kingdom of Kush that lasted for thousands of years (approx. 2300 B.C. to 400 A.D). The reason of the fall of the last Kushite capital (Meroe) was because of two reasons which are the invasion of the Axumite king Ezana and occupation of the Nubians to the Kushite towns. Therefore, it’s a very historical event that was documented on the famous Ezana’s inscription. Therefore, labeling the Kushite pyramids that was built as a burial sanctuary for Kushite kings and queens by Nubian Pyramids is inaccurate and might seem intentionally spreading false information by the author. As a matter of the fact, the Nubians were enemies to the Kushite and they were depicted naked and bounded by the Kushites (see below source from the British Museum). Moreover, the trem Nubian or Nuba was a derogatory term in the Kushite’s Meroitic language which means “slave.” Therefore, I request that this title to be corrected and the remove of the term “Nubian” of any Kushite pyramid. The term “Nubia” is identified by scholars as a geography (between the first Nile contract and the 5th Nile contract) and is not to be mixed with the Nubian ethnicity. The Nubians started a Nubian Kingdom in nearly the 5th or the 6th but they never built pyramids. All the pyramids in the pictures posted by the author are Kushite pyramids. My reliable sources are the followings:

New Page Review - newsletter No.2[edit]

Hello David.moreno72,
A HUGE backlog

We now have 802 New Page Reviewers!
Most of us requested the user right at PERM, expressing a wish to be able to do something about the huge backlog, but the chart on the right does not demonstrate any changes to the pre-user-right levels of October.

Hitting 17,000 soon

The backlog is still steadily growing at a rate of 150 a day or 4,650 a month. Only 20 reviews a day by each reviewer over the next few days would bring the backlog down to a managable level and the daily input can then be processed by each reviewer doing only 2 or 3 reviews a day - that's about 5 minutes work!
It didn't work in time to relax for the Xmas/New Year holidays. Let's see if we can achieve our goal before Easter, otherwise by Thanksgiving it will be closer to 70,000.

Second set of eyes

Remember that we are the only guardians of quality of new articles, we alone have to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged by non-Reviewer patrollers and that new authors are not being bitten.

Abuse

This is even more important and extra vigilance is required considering Orangemoody, and

  1. this very recent case of paid advertising by a Reviewer resulting in a community ban.
  2. this case in January of paid advertising by a Reviewer, also resulting in a community ban.
  3. This Reviewer is indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry.

Coordinator election[edit]

Kudpung is stepping down after 6 years as unofficial coordinator of New Page Patrolling/Reviewing. There is enough work for two people and two coords are now required. Details are at NPR Coordinators; nominate someone or nominate yourself. Date for the actual suffrage will be published later.

Syed Shamsul Haque[edit]

Hi David,

I tried correcting the spelling of Syed Shamsul Haque to "Haq". It is spelled incorrectly in the URL as it is on the article header itself. Please can you let me know how this can be corrected as I see my edits have been reversed?

Kind regards, Ditio Syed-Haq (Syed Shamsul Haq's son) Jaleswari (talk) 10:21, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jaleswari. You will need to make a page move request on the talk page of the article, also ensuring that you provide a reliable source. Thank-you David.moreno72 10:24, 10 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

subtitle of an article?[edit]

Hello, In the mobile view of Arthur C. Lundahl below this title, it reads "Organiser of IMINT and an arial-photography expert". These sub-titles are on almost every article. I always edit in source code, but i never came around that sub-title source code. I mostly edit from my mobile though. Would you please tell me how to add/edit sub-title? Thatnks a lot.

All India Radio News Chhattisgarh[edit]

Hello David, the above page I just created is not a duplication of All India Radio. It's a functionally separate unit. TUSHAR KARMARKAR (talk) 08:53, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi TUSHAR KARMARKAR. There is no such 'seperate unit'. It doesn't appear in Google, and doesn't appear on http://www.asiawaves.net/india/chhattisgarh-radio.htm. Thank-you David.moreno72 09:04, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I request you to visit our Facebook page CHHATTISGARH NEWSONAIR. Also visit our Twitter page CGAIRNEWS. TUSHAR KARMARKAR (talk) 09:11, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's my earnest request to provide me with some Indian Reviewer, who may properly analyse the importance of RNU. Ours is the most important news medium in this large sized state, having population more than many other countries in Asia and World (while AIl India Radio is primarily dedicated for entertainment stuff) TUSHAR KARMARKAR (talk) 09:14, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If the logic of 'no separate unit's is applied, even All India Radio is not separate and it is part of 'Prasar bharati' which is already on Wikipedia. Similarly, Prasar Bharati is also part of ' Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, India.' which is also on Wikipedia. Similarly, Ministry is also part of Government of India (which is also on Wikipedia). TUSHAR KARMARKAR (talk) 09:31, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We are full fledged functionally autonomous unit with myself as incharge. I am not controlled by anybody, except in larger policy matters. You may visit website newsonair.com. TUSHAR KARMARKAR (talk) 09:34, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Page[edit]

I need to get this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Staffordshire_and_West_Midlands_(North_Sector)_Army_Cadet_Force removed immediately, hence why I redirected it for a short amount of time. There are major security breaches as a result of this page according to the organisation itself.

I am the author of this page and I have recieved a phone call by someone in authority that this page breaches many security policies of the Army Cadet Force and that they did not give their permission for its creation. I, as the author, accept this as I did not ask permission from Command for this page to be created and instead asked permission afterwards. This permission has been REJECTED by the ACF. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ah1997 (talkcontribs) 12:36, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I cited 3 references that showed that 2 of the singles off this album had charted in music charts, does that not make subject notable? I was under the understanding that you had to meet at least one of the notability criteria, which I though I had in this case as reference to chart activity. Jammin75 (talk) 04:40, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jammin75. If the article was about the singles, then yes, it would meet notability. The article in this case is about the album, so if you can show that the album itself has charted, not just the individual singles, then it will meet notability. Thank-you David.moreno72 10:13, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for replying David.moreno72. I'm also writing a article on the artist that released this album. If and when it gets approved and can link subject to this article will it make this album I'm referencing notable? Also, if an album that has had charting singles from it does it/can it also make album notable? Thanks Jammin75 (talk) 23:09, 26 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just replying to your comments on draft. There is no conflict of interest, I was a fan of Kate Ceberano then became a fan of the subject ever since and have followed her career. I've tried to cite information from memory but I've taken it out of draft as I can't find it anywhere except the fact that Kate did go to L.A. to perform with Wizards of Oz tour but subject isn't mentioned and I assume citing that information won't be useful for my article. I've pruned the article to only have Information I've cited to the best of my ability. I'm a complete novice at this and it's been an experience to say the least. I appreciate all the help you or anyone else can give me to publish the article. Many thanks Jammin75 (talk) 10:35, 27 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Saianirudh. All your text is available in the edit history. Please take this opportunity to read WP:REFB. Given the complex nature of the edits, I highly recommend that there is a citation for every paragraph that is added, and that it is added during each submission. BTW, whenever I contribute, I ensure that there are several citations in any paragraph. Not only does it ensure that the edits are verifiable, a key foundation of Wikipedia, but it also enables any interested reader in following up on the edits and finding out even more about the subject. Vladislav Dracula[edit]

Why did you undo what I wrote? I only wrote facts about Vladislav Dracula (real name Vladislav, not Vlad which is just short for Vladislav - both of which are common Slavic names). I even cited many primary sources to back the findings, including citing his own signature "Wladislaus Dragwlya, vaivoda partium Transalpinarum " which you still have on the Wiki page under his portrait. I know that Eastern European history, Wikipedia, and pretty much the world are very corrupt and you have to be very critical and thoughtful to prevent becoming victim to the lots of false information and blatant lies that are floating around out there (due largely to the mass nationalism that is present in especially Eastern European countries) and so I am tired of the lies and decided to set the record straight. You can crosscheck everything I wrote and see that it is all fact. I am merely putting the facts out there so that anyone with functioning intelligence can realize the Vladislav Dracula was not Romanian (Romanians didn't even yet exist back then) nor Hungarian (he was as much Hungarian as he was Bavarian or Spanish), but clearly a Slav. I could even add that he even had a very Slavic appearance (dark hair, slim, sharp eyes, frightening face, affinity for red and black garmant, buttoned tunic and boots - but, that I did not add as that would be tough to put in words. What I did add was the titles he used (Voivoda), the way he wrote his name (Vladislav), the language he spoke (Slavic), etc. All facts. So, David,moreno072, stop supporting the spread of false information via Wikipedia and let me have my factual edits published. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.92.192.70 (talk) 05:10, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 130.102.82.11 (Neal). Thank-you for your query. Wikipedia policies state that, and I quote, 'Wikipedia articles may include links to web pages outside Wikipedia (external links), but they should not normally be placed in the body of an article.', WP:EL. You are of course more than welcome to add them into the external links section, or as part of a citation. You also may have noticed that as part of the revert I reinserted a whole lot of external links, which I will be reviewing at a later date to see if they comply with Wikipedia policy. Unfortunately I also notice that you are editing a page about yourself. As tempting this may be, it is a violation of WP:COI, and is strongly discouraged. I suggest that you create an account, which enables the sandbox. Then if you wish, you can copy the page across, and I would be more than happy to review any edits you make there, and as an impartial observer, transfer them to the page, thus avoiding any conflict of interest issues. I hope you enjoy editing on Wikipedia and may I say that it has been an honour to converse with such a distinguished individual as yourself. OpenRISC[edit]

OrSoC is the owner of OpenCores, there is a link on the OpenCores page, but when I read the OpenRISC page I couldn't understand who they were, it looked like they were a group within OpenRISC

Shaunb1170 (talk) 05:44, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shaunb1170. As per Wikipedia policies, I reverted you edit as it contained a body external link. You are more than welcome to add them to an external links section. Thank-you David.moreno72 07:25, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Easington, East Riding Yorkshire - website addition[edit]

Hi David, I had just popped a link on the wiki page to the Parish Council Website but this has been removed. Is there anywhere on the wiki page that this could be added - I have never added anything to a page before - so a novice and not fully sure how or where to put this. Thanks Karen150.237.205.37 (talk) 09:30, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 150.237.205.37. If there is an external links section, it can go there, or in the info box. Thank-you David.moreno72 12:04, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

12:16:46, 13 March 2017 review of submission by Newlifegeorgia[edit]

Dear reviewer,

Please kindly let us know how we should modify the wiki content to be suitable for WIKIPEDIA Rules. We strongly believe that the person who we are introducing to the world should be listed in Wikipedia since she is one of the most successful businesswoman in Georgia, the one who has taken fertility treatment options to the next level in Georgia and not only in this country but worldwide. Moreover, she is the founder of charity organization funding infertile couples, vulnerable youth and people in need of medical care.

Info about this lady should be placed in the world encyclopedia among other significant people from Georgia, like Bidzina Ivanishvili . We do hope you can guide us for proper actions to be taken for the listing the info regarding the person mentioned above.

Kind regards

Newlifegeorgia

Hi @Newlifegeorgia: Please read the following policy, WP:COI and WP:PSCOI, especially where it says Do not edit articles about yourself, your family or friends, your organization, your clients, or your competitors. Thank-you David.moreno72 12:24, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nonconstrutive editing?[edit]

Hello there and excuse me, but nonconstructive editing? I'm on Wikipedia for more than ten years, I know what nonconstructive editing is. However I did not do such things:

1) Transavia will not start its Munich to Stockholm route as clearly seen on transavia.com - here is an additional German article that the route is one to be axed prior to the closure of the Munich base: http://www.aerotelegraph.com/transavia-baut-schon-jetzt-in-muenchen-ab - Thats why I removed the route as also explained in the edit summary.

2) Some IP keeps adding the info that Baghdad-Stockholm is still suspended which is not correct as seen on the official booking site I quoted in the edit summary. The next flight is available on 24 March.

So where is my editing nonconstructive?

Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.171.176.15 (talk) 10:03, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 83.171.176.15 . Using the front page of a booking site as a reference is citation spam per WP:REFSPAM. Not only that, it doesn't even support any information. Considering that you claim to be editing Wikipedia for more than 10 years you should have known better. Thank-you David.moreno72 10:51, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As I just added below it is concensus at the aviation portal - including the admins active in this area - that the links you critisize are acceptable primary sources. Please discuss before you decide on your own whether this practice is okay or not. Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.171.177.145 (talk) 12:32, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 83.171.177.145 . If you don't mind can you link to the policy which overrides WP:ELNO. Otherwise your edits will be reverted. Thank-you David.moreno72 12:37, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As I just said the use of these sources is common practice for years now and was never questioned by the administration - I opened a discussion at WikiProject Airports where I refered to your edits. Please discuss there. I will also inform some of our aviation admins regarding their opinion. Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.171.177.145 (talk) 12:41, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 83.171.177.145. Can you please link to the policy that overrides WP:ELNO and WP:V. Thank-youDavid.moreno72 12:47, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As you are the first user to raise this issue after years of being practiced you should elaborate at the aviation portal why you think using these links violate WP:ELNO, WP:V and WP:REFSPAM. We have the clear policy that starting and ending dates of airline routes need a reliable primary (e. g. the airline website) or secondary source (e. g. the airports, news articles or database sites like routesonline.com) which must also be added as a citation to the destinations table. Sources which clearly state the date are prefered, however this is not available for all changes which is why we use the booking site links as a source which however do usually not allow hotlinking. We discussed frequently which sources are considered reliable and if you want to raise another discussion feel free to do so but please do no not ignore a current portal concensus and destroying our careful work by starting edit wars. Best regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.171.178.133 (talk) 18:36, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

CityJet / LCY[edit]

I don't know why you reverted those edits as 'promotional'. Did you make a mistake? Adding a sourced end date for a route certainly isn't promotional! VG31 18:30, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi VG31. I am going to repeat what I said to the original editor. Using the front page of a booking site as a reference is citation spam per WP:REFSPAM. Not only that, it doesn't even support any information. Let me repeat that. It does NOT support any of the information being claimed. This is a violation of Wikipedia's verifiability policy per WP:V. If you want to confirm the end date of a travel route, the reference MUST have the end date specified on the page that is being linked. No exceptions. I notice that there are a number of pages that use this 'technique'. If possible, may I ask you, since you are an expert in the topic, to keep an eye out for them, and immediately remove them. Thank-you. David.moreno72 07:26, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please refer to the aviation portal before deciding on your own that a practice used for several years is now no longer acceptable. Also you removed several sources that are directly stating ending or starting dates of routes and where no booking site landing pages at all. Best regards.
Unfortunately what you said does not always work in reality. Yes, a source that lists the exact start/end is ideal but in many cases this isn't possible. Airlines often don't publicise a route ending so the only way to find out is by consulting the booking engine. Thanks, VG31 15:43, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ma Barker[edit]

Hi David,

Why did you revert my update on the Ma Barker page? I live about 5 miles away. I am a member of a Metal Detecting club on Facebook and shortly before the Barker house was removed, several members searched the site, finding many relics of the shootout including a ring belonging to one of the criminals. It's being converted into a museum of the massacre.

Respectfully,

Hi Seminole Sam. When adding categories, they must already exist, and cannot contain any extraneous text. If you are having trouble understanding categories, may I suggest reading H:CAT. Thank-you David.moreno72 07:16, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

WIll add the citations for A. Vinod Bharathi[edit]

Hi David,

I will add the Inline Citations with reliable sources. Please let me undo your changes to add the citations..Thank You

Am referring to the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A._Vinod_Bharathi — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prassy27 (talkcontribs) 12:49, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Prassy27. Please do not add material to BLP's that is not referenced it is a violation of WP:BLP. Thank-you David.moreno72 13:13, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi David,

Also, would like to link this page under "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_cinematographers#List_of_cinematographers" . This page is in limbo state and orphaned one without any links. Since he is a professional Indian Cinematographer , adding him under the list will solve the issue and the page won't be orphan anymore,.. Please advie — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prassy27 (talkcontribs) 13:30, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
