Spelling of Welsh place names

Hi, please be careful when spell-checking - this edit broke the link to Llandyssul railway station. Article titles for railway stations are shown using the official name of the station, as given in works like Butt 1995; railway companies sometimes used variant spellings of Welsh place names using Anglicisation conventions that differ from modern practice. --Redrose64 (talk) 22:21, 6 January 2014 (UTC)

Breath analyzer/breathalyzer

Hi there, your recent AWB edit to the quantum cascade laser article was problematic. The "breath analyzer" application refers to a generic breath-gas sampling system (methane, water, carbon dioxide etc) for medical diagnostics whereas a "breathalyzer" specifically refers to an ethanol-detection system, typically used for law enforcement. CCCP

This is a bit silly to edit-war over, so I will just explain my reasoning here. “СССР” is undeniably the acronym of “Союз Советских Социалистических Республик”. This redirect is “CCCP”, though, using Latin letters as a graphical approximation of the Cyrillic letters. That makes it wrong, i.e. a misspelling. Gorobay (talk) 00:25, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

Interwiki links

As you may or may not be aware - there is a bug at the meta that impedes adding right-to-left links containing spaces or parentheses. Somehow there are unicode characters for changing from rtl from ltr and v.v. that are being included thus breaking the links. Hence, the old fashioned way, and the bot will do it correctly without errors when it gets around to it. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 21:39, 4 September 2014 (UTC)

Rolling coal

Hi. The original caption for that image is: "Innovative emission control technology can reduce emissions from existing diesel engines, such as the one above, by as much as 90 percent. EPA’s Clean Diesel Initiative will fund diesel retrofit and replacement projects that deliver immediate air quality improvements." It was used to illustrate the EPA's 2006 budget statement, alongside a paragraph about the Clean Diesel Initiative "to support diesel engine retrofits, rebuilds and replacements, anti-idling measures, clean fuel infrastructure projects, and other activities to reduce emissions." When listing files for deletion, please add them at the bottom of the daily page, not at the top of it. FFD is not TFD, which confusingly is the other way around. --Stefan2 (talk) 21:20, 15 December 2014 (UTC)
