Hi, this content appears on at least 3 other sites, one of which is obviously commercial. Wikipedia cannot use copyrighted material. If you cannot show this is in the public domain or rewrite in your own words, it will need to be deleted. Cheers. :) Dlohcierekim 21:13, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your note. I did not see that it was a DoD site. As I understand it, you are correct. US gov. publications are public domain. I will remove the prod. Thanks again,  :) Dlohcierekim 21:26, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added this as a reference.AN/MSN-7 Mobile Tower System (MOTS)Tower Restoral Vehicle (TRV). I think it is the DoD site. Let me know. Cheers,  :) Dlohcierekim 21:34, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as MIL-STD-461, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://quanterion.com/Documents/Documents.asp?ArgVal=6416, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), you can comment to that effect on Talk:MIL-STD-461. Then you should do one of the following:

  • Make a note on the original website that re-use is permitted under the GFDL and state at Talk:MIL-STD-461 where we can find that note; or
  • Send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:MIL-STD-461.

It is also important that the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and that it follows Wikipedia article layout. For more information, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! -- ReyBrujo 03:14, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to comment on this deletion, the MIL-STD-461 is very likely to be public domain, as a work of the US government. SO the deletion was likely unjustified, and you have grounds for an appeal. Ask at WP:REFUND if you want. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:25, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Yacht Genie Maris requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  —HueSatLum 01:25, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
