help with question ref desk woulden't post[edit]

I just tried asking the following question on the entertainment ref desk: Which one of the 2 discs of funky house sessions 2006 has the more well known and more played songs on it? I need to know this because i asked MC Mario to put together a review of that year, and to use some songs from that album. Which disc has more popular 2006 songs on it? Please answer asap, need answer before nov 23, my 18 birthday. -- N.I.M., 204.112.104.172 (talk) 01:13, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

re help[edit]

Funky house sessions 2006 is an album by ministry of sound, and mc mario is a canadian dj who releases similar material. What i did is sent him an e-mail to make mixes of the greatest house music of 2006, and told him that Funkey House Sessions 2006 has good songs. Because of all the tables, the track list for funky house sessions 2006 is almost unreadable for my finicky screan reader. I'm asking this because i want to know from whitch of the two discs in the album will mc mario be more likely to choose the songs. Basicly it's the more popular ones, as like i said, i asked him to do the best house music songs of 2006. Hope this helps. If you can't help, please help me find someone who can, thanks. 204.112.104.172 (talk) 10:49, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try the ref desk again, hope it posts. thanks. 204.112.104.172 (talk) 11:26, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Robin Russell[edit]

Thank you for the edits, I appreicate you help.

Good day Dismas:

I just attempted to upload an image of Robin Russell for said wiki page, not sure if the upload is awaiting approval or if it even worked correctly. Any clues? Thanks again for your edits. Restfest (talk) 18:10, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

club hits 2010[edit]

Two questions about this cd: 1: where did you find the track list? maybe i'll be able to find more cds by spg. And two: When was the cd club hits 2010 cd released? I notice that many of the songs are from 2009, like Release Me by Agnes, or I will be here by tiesto and sneaky sound system. Please respond asap, i would like to know this. 204.112.104.172 (talk) 22:40, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Robin Russell image[edit]

I am still having trouble uploading the image. I copied it from the subjects website which states images can be used. Do I need to obtain a letter of permission from the subject or is there a code to cover this.

Restfest (talk) 17:13, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Dismas for info on the photo upload. It seems a bit complicated once I pulled down license type. I am not a lawyer and cannot fully understand all the rules. Perhaps someone else will someday add a photo to the subject page. Thanks again. Restfest (talk) 18:40, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Earlier today I added an external link for one of subject's YouTube clips. I either forgot to save it, or it was deleted for some reason. Can I add the link again, or is linking to YouTube off limits unless proper procedures are followed first? Thanks again.

Restfest (talk) 18:59, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Dismas. If you see no point in the YouTube clip being there, then I respect your point of veiw and will leave it off. I copied the image in question to my hard drive and I am in the process of drafting a letter asking the subject for permission to use it. However, from what you tell me, because of the 2004 date on his website, I still would not be able to use the image on the Wiki page. Not sure how to procees now. Thanks again.

club hits 2010[edit]

That's the full name of it, or you can put "SPG's club hits 2010, as SPG Music is the record lable for it. When was it released? 204.112.104.172 (talk) 02:06, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wow! that cd was actually released on my 17th birthday, go figure! Are there any cds you have found that were released on your birth day? I mean ones you liked? I bet it's not often that such a thing happens. 204.112.104.172 (talk) 02:35, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do something about this user.[edit]

Hamtechperson has been reverting my edits for vandelism without even looking at it. Just seconds after i put it there on the ref desk. I'm reporting him to you because i don't know where else to go. Can you please do something about this, it was constructive, Please undo the revert by Hamtechperson. He's being persistently annoying. 204.112.104.172 (talk) 14:22, 11 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gladiator screenshot[edit]

Thanks - excellent work! Added to the article.

Quick questions - 1/ what time into the film is this? 2/ is the quotation spoken, or displayed? The description implies displayed but it looks like it's spoken. If spoken only, is a screenshot with subtitles available? Would that make a better illustration you think? FT2 (Talk | email)

Updated the subtitled description a bit, and deleted the non-subtitled upload (as non-free use, it can't be kept if it won't be used). Thanks! FT2 (Talk | email) 06:24, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey dismas[edit]

Got an account, let's see if you can recognize me. Clue: i'm blind, and i used to have an IP address account. If you do recognize me from before, just say "i know you!" or something like that. See the top of my talk page for a hint. N.I.M. (talk) 23:01, 15 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You done got me fer sure, RD[edit]

I made the edit and then after seeing my mess decided to remove the whole thing, mostly because I feared I had missed some very good joke using the mangled Pope quote - but now I'm not sure there was a good joke - so anyway, let's move on, life's too short and that. . . Speedy deletion of User:S2kelam/Vestex[edit]

Hello Dismas, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created on November 29 2010, User:S2kelam/Vestex, has been marked for speedy deletion by User:JamesBWatson (note: page has no mainspace links, and 3 edits). This has been done because the page is a blatant advert that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article (see CSD). If you think the tag was placed in error, please add "{{hangon}}" to the page text, and edit the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. If you have a question about this bot, please ask it at User talk:SDPatrolBot II. If you have a question for the user who tagged the article, see User talk:JamesBWatson. Stub articles[edit]

The wiki page that I submitted on drummer Robin Russell is labeled as Stub. Being a stub, does that mean that more information needs to added to the page (before a certain time limit) so that the page will not be deleted because it is a stub? Thank you.

Restfest (talk) 19:23, 9 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A stub is just a classification, meaning it's the start of an article. From Wikipedia:Stub: "A stub is an article containing only a few sentences of text which is too short to provide encyclopedic coverage of a subject, but not so short as to provide no useful information, and it should be capable of expansion." An article generally won't be deleted merely because it's a stub. However, being a stub usually means that very little information is provided about the subject, which may make proving notability difficult. Tabercil (talk) 04:50, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks much Dismas, I will take a look at the referenced area that you mentioned. Restfest (talk) 17:29, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cathy Barry[edit]

I take it you paid the subscription fee for http://www.companieshouse.co.uk/index.shtml?

A subscription search service for access to in-depth company and director information…

No??? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shylocksboy (talkcontribs) 22:40, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cathy Barry[edit]

The reason I keep changing her birthday to 1967 is that is when she was born. I have listed my source and if you bothered to look at the screengrab you will see that she is a director of Pumpkin Films. Do your seriously believe there are two Cathy Barrys who are directors of Pumpkin Films? One born in 1967 and one in 1973???

I have explained what Companies House is. I am surprised no amazed that anyone who would claim to be an "editor" or authority to change other's edits would be unaware of this organisation.

The sites for Companies House and 192.com which lists every company director are both subscription-based, which is why I took a screengrab to use.

Can you help me please?[edit]

I am co-author of the article on Mdvanii and Cheong Kwon, the current initiator of the article on Mdvanii and my associate are trying to make this a perfect article. We were sabotaged by a stalker, a person who has been stalking the maker of the Mdvanii artwork ...h ehas been stalking him for over 23 years and has been restrained by lawyers etc for many things, but I fear he will continue to sabotage the article...

What he was doing, if you look at his edits, was adding insults about the artists, and also putting the name of a well known cheap toy commercial doll in the place of the name Mdvanii.....I asked RonHJones ( a wiki editor) and I am asking you, if you can follow this article and help me...not only protect the article but help me make it as perfect as possible, which is our goal.

Cheong Kwon is in NY and I am in Switzerland...she will make me co-administrator when she gets back to her hom today, (she is out right now)....

We'd both really appreciate it if you can help us...the guy doing this is a seriously unwell stalker who is nto in any way interested in doing a serious wiki edit, but a personal venegence upon the creators of the art work.ANy help would be appreciated. Kind regards Alec Jiri Alec jiri (talk) 00:51, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

my user name, Rfreund md[edit]

Hello. You sent me a message earlier this month, wondering whether I "might be, or represent, Dr. Robert Freund of http://www.robertfreundmd.com/."

Let me assure you, I am not Dr. Robert Freund or in any way acquainted with him. The R in Rfreund is for Russell, my first name. (The md is for Marketing Director, which is my title at my law firm.)

Hope this clears that up.
