A vandal's thoughts on CVU

[edit]

Your changes to the CVU page are boring. Please desist. If you want to improve it go ahead or else you might as well just delete it down to the URL www.cvuhs.org. Thanks. Sir Smith 20:12, 4 November 2006 (UTC)Sir Smith[reply]

What I was doing was reverting your vandalism. If you have an issue with this, please take it up with an administrator. Dismas|(talk) 20:16, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello... I note you've just reverted (yet more) vandalism on the Burnham Grammar School page, so I wondered if you knew what should be done with the above page, which was originally at Brendan Mulcahy and then moved. It's clearly more BGS editors messing about, but I've never been very good at knowing what the appropriate action to take is in cases such as this where there isn't just one type of inappropriate behaviour going on. Loganberry (Talk) 13:53, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks; the page has gone now in any case, though I'll remember what you said in case it pops up again. Loganberry (Talk) 00:35, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Playboy Special Editions

[edit]

I was not aware that using bold for those titles had been previously discussed; I de-bolded them because it did not seem to follow Wikipedia style. The Honorable 19:06, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Off Road Vehicle

[edit]

Instead of the list in the article, how about a new page titled "List of modified ORV's in pop culture" or something to that affect? Sports cars and SUV's are in thousands of movies/music/tv everyday, to see a lifted, modified ORV in film/tv is very rare and I thought noteworthy. There are lots of pages on Wikipedia about references of this or that in pop culture. To have a list of the 30-40 movies/music/tv with prominent ORV's seems to be reasonable. Anyone who is a fan of ORV's would also say that the truck in Varsity Blues was definitely something not seen in movies often and it has lots of screen time. The beginning sequence and the scene with Billy Bob shooting his trophies both had the truck in them. Perhaps I could also remove any instances where the vehicle is not lifted/modified as well (all of the Hummer references would be removed). Mtxchevy 14:03, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How about a new list titled: "List of modified ORV's in Pop Culture" to go along with the section in Off-road vehicle concerning lifting vehicles. Might be a good reference for people wondering about what a lifted vehicle looks like. I'll take out all instances of just a regular ORV, such as the Hummer's, the Blazer in Commando, etc. but leave in the instances of heavily modified, lifted vehicles such as Varsity Blues, Clear and Present Danger, Trojan War, etc. Also I'll make it a seperate page with a link under the lifting section in ORV's. As an avid off-roader I notice when a movie has a lifted vehicle and it really is quite rare. How does that sound? Mtxchevy 16:04, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have previously edited the Rebbecca Cummings article. The article has been put up for deletion. I would like your unbiased input on the article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rebecca Cummings. Along with the discussion on the deletion page you can find information and discussions on this at Talk:Rebecca Cummings.

She may not be the most notable person on Wikipedia but she fits the notability criteria from the Wikipedia guideline Wikipedia:Notability (pornographic actors). Her notability is listed in her article and restated at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rebecca Cummings.

Thanks for your input!--HeartThrobs 21:46, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Playmate Templates

[edit]

Yes, I would like to continue adding the templates, when I can find the time. So far, I've done 1966-69 and 1978-79. Rglovejoy 15:43, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Summer

[edit]

Well usually July and August are it and sometimes June and September can be nice. But I guess it depends on how you define Summer. We probably don't have anything like your summers but for us after the winter it sure is good. I notice that some people who have lived here for years tend to get uncomfortable when the temperatures go above 20C. If you go to here (scroll down) and you can see our temperatures. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 10:57, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you have any questions feel free to email me. However, I'm leaving town in a few hours for a week and won't be back until the 21/22 of November. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 11:27, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Birth date and age template

[edit]

Why are you taking this template out of the Playmate infoboxes? It's been agreed that it would be used in other infoboxes, why take it out of this one? Dismas|(talk) 21:55, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where is this agreed upon template been discussed???

Playboy Cyber Club Undeletion attempt

[edit]

Here you seemed to be in support of this topic. I now need your support here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TonyTheTiger (talkcontribs)

I checked out your user contributions and know you should be interested in seeing Playboy Cyber Club and/or Playboy Online revived. Why don't you endorse undeletion? See my new template at Template:Playboy to see why these pages need to be revived. TonyTheTiger 21:07, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kind of embarrassing, but...

Re: Horseshoe Bend photo

[edit]

Nope, I don't live in Vermont and haven't put that photo in a show. When you say you saw a similar photo, was it exactly the same, or was it just of the same subject? -- Moondigger 19:43, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There aren't many vantage points there from which to snap a photo of the bend... the trail leads to that spot, and that's where you set up. You can move back and forth along the ledge, but the perspective doesn't change much for a subject on that huge scale. What tends to distinguish one Horseshoe Bend photo from another are the choices the photographer makes -- focal length, exposure, etc. In any case, I wouldn't expect you to know if the one you saw was identical or not, unless you recognized something unique in the cloud patterns or something. Thanks... -- Moondigger 22:01, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User:Jcurtis steps

[edit]

Just a quick note to advise you of what I plan to do if/when Jcurtis next strikes; this way if you see his actions before I do, you can act to try and get him blocked (since apparently time is critical in reporting vandalism).

  1. Put a {{subst:Blank4}} at the bottom of his talk page.
  2. Go to the Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism page.
  3. Bring up the last report I made of vandalism against Jcurtis (found here) in a fresh window.
  4. Cut'n'paste the old report to the current vandalism page, then append details to the bottom of the copied text chunk a fresh indent stating what Jcurtis' newest actions are (so the admin can see that this is ongoing actions by Jcurtis).

Seems simple enough, eh? :) Tabercil 15:36, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, Wikipedia and its red tape! You gotta love it... Thanks for those though, I'll be on the lookout for him. Dismas|(talk) 21:14, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Dismas. I have just deleted the article for now. I have been accused of copyright infringement from my own web site...text that I've written myself. Text that describes the project. It is too frustrating for me right now. Maybe I'll come back to Wikipedia at a later time.

Alexz Johnson Article: How Do I Report/Ban A Vandal?

[edit]

Thanks for previous advice and help on this article. We have recently had a string of vandal edits by 69.119.119.178, who has also vandalized numerous other articles as well, as you can see: [1]

From what I can tell, this person is supposed to under a ban right now, but I can't see it is being enforced: [2] I checked the block list and couldn't find 69.119.119.178 on the list, at least not yet.

Is there any way of enforcing a long-term, well-deserved ban on this user? With that kind of rap sheet, there should be a strong case for declaring this person to be a habital offender.

Thanks for any help on this!

Malicious people are removing facts from the Stephanie Adams article

[edit]

Someone is removing facts from the Stephanie Adams bio on this site. If you can take a look, that would be helpful. Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.89.121.164 (talk) 21:38, 6 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Philanthropist, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at Talk:Philanthropist. You may remove the deletion notice, and the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. — Sebastian (talk) 03:43, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:BLP and Asia Carrera

[edit]

Well what is there to say? The policy says - and I quote: "Unsourced or poorly sourced controversial (negative, positive, or just highly questionable) material about living persons should be removed immediately from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, and user pages.". The entire section was "verify" marked and the speculations therein - that AC murdered her own husband to get the life-insurance - is so blatantly in violation of WP:BLP that I'm surprised you take the time to ask me why I axed it. Can you honestly say that you do not think the section was in violation of WP:BLP? --J-Star 15:30, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did ask you a question: how can you see that the section that I axed did not violate WP:BLP when all of it was was labled "verify" and the very source of the section in effect was an accusation of murder?
So no, I wasn't being arrogant... I was genuinely surprised because in my view - for reasons stated above - the whole article was a severe violation of WP:BLP. I am very curious as to how you came to such a radically different conclusion than me. --J-Star 09:01, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I quoted the part I thought relevant. See above. also the nutshell-box is more then enough to warrant a removal of the section. All the information you seek is very early in the article for WP:BLP.
The section was marked as "Verify" which means it was "poorly sourced". Also the headline itself - "Finanicial conroversy" - still carried a very negative hint... because a controversy suggests that foul play was involved.--J-Star 11:00, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
