Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Africatown Heritage House[edit]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Africatown Heritage House, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

If you have a COI, then you need to declare it (see WP:COIDECLARE). Even so, you can still submit a draft. I'd let the existing one just be deleted because it has several issues. I believe the museum can likely meet the the notability guidelines but like I said in response to your help desk query, you need to take a completely different approach. Draft:Africatown Heritage House[edit]

Hi Doc, the administer declined the deletion nomination (i.e. it was not deleted). I chopped it down, added some secondary sources and re-added the draft template to allow for re-submission but it needs to be expanded based on what the secondary sources have written. I may work on it in the next week or so. Given it's not opening until July 8th, I think it is best to wait until after the opening because likely more sources will be available. Not to mention, it does comes across as promotional, even if unintentional, to propose an article about a museum/center that has yet to open and also what we call WP:TOOSOON. This is not a matter of if this will be article; it is a matter when. If you are affiliated, you still do need to declare you COI as noted above (and good luck with the opening).
