If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on New college, harrogate requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content or organised event, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Faizan 17:41, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for taking the time to contribute.

I'm a bot designed by another Wikipedia editor, and I'm here to help you with our deletion process. I noticed that while working on an article recently, you removed a speedy deletion template that tagged it for deletion. Don't get discouraged! Deletion discussions happen on Wikipedia all the time.

If you don't want the article to get deleted, please click here.

The link will take you to the talk page, where you can explain why the article should be kept. If you have any questions about this or need help with editing, you can ask at the Help desk.

We really hope you'll stick around to help make Wikipedia better! Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 18:16, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited West End Preparatory School, Harrogate, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Preparatory School (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sirs

Thank you for your help

I am a Chartered Geographer and am familiar with advanced geostats - I do know the correct syntax for dec coordinates

I wrote because although I did use the correct syntax {{Location dec|xxxxx|yyyyy}} did not work with repeated images

Saw your question at the Help Desk, and I thought it would be more helpful if I answered here. First off, something like this is fine: {{Location dec|xxxxx|yyyyy}} will always work, as long as you remember that you have to put a minus sign before the latitude for Southern Hemisphere and before the longitude for Western Hemisphere. If you want to put in the degrees/minutes/seconds directly instead of using decimal degrees, this won't work — it thinks that the number of degrees is "53° 59′ 3.91″ N", and it only accepts numbers, not strings of (what it thinks to be) random other characters. You have to separate degrees/minutes/seconds with pipe characters, or the software won't understand you. See here for the coding that produces a degree/minute/second location on File:Thornburgh House.jpg, and feel free to ask any future questions at my talk page or back at the Help Desk. Hello Dorjaynima. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "West End Prep School".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/West End Prep School}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, click "Save page", and an administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Dusti*Let's talk!* 02:05, 18 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
