Ursula Burns

Can you explain why you're reverting this article to an earlier one in which seems to be vandalism? Gomez3000adams (talk) 20:23, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

My mistake. Upon seeing the last edit made by the IP, I took the removal of content to be vandalism and reverted it. Thanks for catching it! -download ׀ sign! 20:26, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

List of Pokémon (21–40)

This is the last finger-wagging you get, buster. Vandalize again and- whoops, not an IP. ;) In any event, I'm getting the feeling we should get page protection on this page, what do you think? -WarthogDemon 20:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Page protection might be helpful, but I'm fine reverting.  :) The vandalism might not continue for long after the IPs are blocked. -download ׀ sign! 20:40, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I've made a request but I'm wondering if I should contact an admin directly - I haven't seen vandalism this fast and persistent since a Main Page article two years ago. -WarthogDemon 20:48, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
I think this has to do with something organized by 4chan; I just read something at WP:ANI regarding this. -download ׀ sign! 20:51, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
It does, I'm sure. Coincidentally enough, I read it just before this happened too. -WarthogDemon 20:58, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
The page just got semi-protected, so unless they find something else to vandalize this should be over. -download ׀ sign! 21:00, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, an admin found it right before I considered getting one. Also, not to criticize (I understand we were all reverting fast, but occasionally you didn't get all the IP vandals. Being fast is good, just don't go TOO fast. (Speaks from experience back when he first started reverting vandalism years ago...) :) -WarthogDemon 21:03, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. I was actually going to revert it wayy back to an older version but you beat me to it.  :) -download ׀ sign! 21:04, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

User blanking of article

I notice that you recently reverted an edit where the author of the article Abdul aziz sohail had blanked that article, and you placed a warning on that user's talk page, using Huggle. However, it is generally accepted that if the author of an article blanks the article, and no other user has added any significant content, then the blanking is taken as indicating that the author wants the page deleted, and it can then be tagged for speedy deletion with {{db-blanked}}. Very often new users who don't know how Wikipedia works see an article they have created tagged for deletion, accept that the article should be deleted, and remove the content, thinking that is deleting it. It is much better in such a case not to bite the newcomer by giving them a warning that they have done something wrong by trying to comply with the deletion notice. You may know all this already: I know from my own experience of using Huggle that it is very easy to slip into simply clicking on the revert button and moving on without checking the edit carefully enough, but I thought it would not harm to mention this. I have taken the liberty of removing the user warning: please restore it if you think there is a good reason why it should be there. JamesBWatson (talk) 21:46, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the advice; I will instead tag the page for speedy deletion in the future rather than reverting. -download ׀ sign! 21:48, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
