Welcome![edit]

Hello, Dr. Todd Hanna, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited was User:Dr. Todd Hanna/sandbox/Todd Hanna, MD, DDS, FACS, which appears to be an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians—as this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. Your user page, however, is a great place to write about yourself, making sure to stay within user page guidelines. Just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit it normally.

The page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page. If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to it, please propose the changes on its talk page.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! A tag has been placed on User:Dr. Todd Hanna/sandbox/Todd Hanna, MD, DDS, FACS, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stop icon This is your only warning; if you use Wikipedia for soapboxing, promotion or advertising again, as you did at User:Dr. Todd Hanna/sandbox/Todd Hanna, MD, DDS, FACS, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:15, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you for taking the time to read my unblock request. Firstly, I sincerely apologize. I truly am sorry for my disruptive behavior that led me to be blocked. I have read the policies regarding soapboxing, promotion, and advertising, and I am very sorry for violating them. Now that I have read them and clearly understand the policies and how using Wikipedia as a soapbox or promotional site contradicts the intended purpose of the encyclopedia, I will not make this mistake again. I am very sorry. Also, I realized that I have been flagged as a sockpuppeteer, for which I also apologize. I was not aware of the policies regarding sockpuppteering or the disruption this can cause. This is my first time trying to create a wikipedia article, and I did not mean to be a disruptive editor and jeopardize the encyclopedia and the community. I promise going forward that I will not use this platform to advertise, nor will I sockpuppet other accounts. I am fully aware of the policies and I understand why they are in place and why my actions violated them. I promise that I will not repeat these mistakes. Again, the mistakes I made were out of ignorance and they were not made with the intent to disrupt the encyclopedia or the community. I am truly sorry, and I appreciate the administrators who takes the time to read this request. Dr. Todd Hanna (talk) 22:04, 22 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I note that you are simultaneously apologising for violating WP:SOCK while also requesting an unblock with your sockpuppet account, over at User talk:Elorydale. That alone would be enough to decline the unblock. But you've also not made it remotely clear what you'll write about instead, now that you know you won't be unblocked to write about Dr. Hanna. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

(Non-administrator comment) I'm not an admin, but I would strongly recommend that you read, understand, accept WP:GAB — "Guide to appealing blocks". Your current appeal seems, to me, to be doomed to failure.

  1. You sprinkle your appeal with unnecessary and unwanted apologies; we're not really interested in how sorry you are about your transgressions. We want to make sure that they wont happen again.
  2. Your appeal doesn't show that you understand our standards on WP:SOAP, WP:SOCK and WP:MEAT. On the contrary, you seem to be intent on continuing: "I intende to use the other account as a personal account and I will have this account monitored by my superior.
  3. Your appeal says precious little about what you would contribute if you were unblocked.

I recommend that you re-write your appeal in the light of WP:GAB. —Wasell(T) 17:35, 23 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I would like to appeal my block. I apologize for being disruptive and violating multiple policies. I really appreciate all the admins who have taken their time to inform me of the policies I violated. I sincerely made the mistakes out of ignorance, and I appreciate them being pointed out to me so I can learn from them and not repeat them. I have read the policies and understand how I violated WP:SOAP, WP:SOCK, and I understand the WP:MEAT policy. I promise that I will discontinue use of the sockpuppet account, User talk:Elorydale. I understand that it is not okay to use two accounts in the ways I did, and I will not use any other accounts, nor will I ask others to use or create accounts on my behalf. I understand why these actions are forms of disruptive editing, and I will not engage in them ever again. If I were unblocked, I would like to contribute by editing articles on things that I am passionate and informed about, which is a lot of pop culture. I have looked into articles on Wikipedia that need updating, and I believe that I could contibute positively to the encyclopedia by editing the existing articles Panic! at the Disco and 90 Day Fiance with needed updates. I ask that you please consider unblocking me. I apologize for the mistakes I made, I understand what I did wrong, and I will not repeat them. I would very much like to contribute to the encylopedia and be a positive member of the Wikipedia commmunity. Dr. Todd Hanna (talk) 16:43, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Since there has been no reply to the concerns below in more than a week, I am declining the request. Huon (talk) 21:18, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

In an earlier version of this request you mentioned your supervisor. I assume that means that you are not Dr. Todd Hanna. In that case you'll need to propose a new username; we cannot have someone else impersonate Dr. Hanna on Wikipedia. (Personally I'd be okay with leaving this account blocked and considering an unblock request for User:Elorydale, if that's who you are. If you are Dr. Hanna, you'll need to provide evidence via email; either way, see WP:IMPERSONATE for details.) That said, given the content that you considered appropriate for an encyclopedia before having been told differently, I will not lift this block unless you explicitly agree to not edit about Dr. Hanna (a topic ban). • In connection with your use of two accounts, you have said "Evading detection and disrupting the community were never my intent". Can you tell us what was your intent? I see that you switched to another account and in its user space created a second copy of a page, 30 minutes after being informed that the first copy might be deleted, and 13 minutes after you were warned of a block if you continued in the same way. You can no doubt imagine that acting in that way is likely to look to others like an attempt to evade detection, and it will help if you can dispel any possibility of anyone making that misinterpretation if you can explain what your purpose in doing so actually was.
