November 2022[edit]

Information icon Hi Dr.gregory.retzlaff! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Jimmy Savile that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:33, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the feedback and enlightenment, appreciated. I guess I blurred the line between minor and obvious, still learning. Dr.gregory.retzlaff (talk) 00:59, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

January 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Wikipelli. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Diana Ross (1970 album)—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:01, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023[edit]

Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Earnest Andersson, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 02:06, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It was constructive. A long listing of Stravinsky's work does not belong here. It is just attempting to pad out Earest's reputation. Dr.gregory.retzlaff (talk) 02:08, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to misunderstand the purpose of templates. One of then is used for a wide range of figures, works, and subjects, some obscure, who were relevant to Stravinsky and his music. It does not purport to "pad out" anything. The other is for filing purposes and is not to be removed. —CurryTime7-24 (talk) 02:17, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi Dr.gregory.retzlaff! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Earnest Andersson several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Earnest Andersson, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. CurryTime7-24 (talk) 02:07, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on SpaceX Starship integrated flight test 2. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Redraiderengineer (talk) 06:27, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I am working towards an acceptable version and have offered a compromise just now after some discussion. The compromise I believe is good. One might warn him not to engage in an editing war with me, takes two to tango. The flight was not a success; the article itself shows the flight objectives that were not met. And, if he starts changing my compromise edit (addition really), then he is engaging in an edit war with me, no? If he engages in an edit war, maybe he should be blocked too.
