Proposed deletion of The Reef (2010 film)[edit]

The article The Reef (2010 film) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Wikipedia articles do not predict future notability. At present, this film does not have significant coverage in independent reliable sources, so it does not meet the notability guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.  Chzz  ►  03:37, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

How does renaming/moving work?[edit]

{{helpme}} I've been advised the article can be made appropriate if I remove the production data. So I've changed the article text from "The Reef (2010 film)" to "The Reef (film)" - this however does not alter the title of the article. That would seem to be a move or a merger? I'm unsure if I'm responding to the advice properly. --Dtoovey (talk) 00:09, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the article title requires a move, however I don't believe you should move The Reef (2010 film). You can remove the production data from the article itself, but the title should remain the same. The policy at Wikipedia:Naming conventions is that article title should be recognizable, unambiguous, and unique. Since there is already an article with the title The Reef (film), the title The Reef (2010 film) should stay. The guideline at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (films) says that the year of release should be in the article title in order to disambiguate it from another film with the same name.
Please let me know if there are any more questions. Thanks! --Mysdaao talk 00:42, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:NFF, if principal photography has not yet started the film is generally considered unsuitable for an article at this time. If you want, I can move the article to your userspace for you to work on. Once it satisfies our inclusion criteria, it can be moved back to mainspace. Tim Song (talk) 00:53, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do I respond like this? Principal photography has commenced according to the director's blog despite lots of problems with storms, jellyfish etc.Dtoovey (talk) 01:06, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You need to add an extra level of indent for each response. Okay, so that's one hurdle cleared; nonetheless, I can't find nearly enough coverage for this - there's like at most 6 Gnews hits, and some of them are not third-party, published, reliable sources. So my guess is that the article will likely be deleted. Why don't you keep in your userspace, and then, when and if the film gets more coverage, you can move it back to mainspace. Tim Song (talk) 03:21, 25 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
So now the article has been deleted, is it too late to move to my userspace?Dtoovey (talk) 04:57, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
