April 2010[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on Talk:Alfred R. Bosco, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. Codf1977 (talk) 09:05, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Century Gothic, 20th Century, ephemera, &c.[edit]

Heh. Criticizing something as "ephermeral" because it's digital seems like an odd argument to make on Wikipedia, of all places. Anyway, I don't totally get your logic; it's like saying because we have an article on Jerry Lewis, we shouldn't have one on Sammy Petrillo.

By the way, I noticed your other work on typography-related articles. Nice job. Glad to see the new stuff especially.—Chowbok 02:39, 19 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Douglas Karpen[edit]

Is Roscelese a POV editor? She seems fixated on deleting multiple articles dealing with abortion. Most of her contributions are on the topic of abortion... I haven't had time to go through and read them all.

This article was placed on the dispute resolution board due to some questionable edits. I assume she became aware of the article once there was a see also link on the Kermit Gosnell article.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Dispute_resolution_noticeboard#douglas_karpen

Surpise, surprise... it's now up for deletion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Douglas_Karpen

Thoughts and suggestions?

Lordvolton (talk) 08:55, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's pretty obvious that Roscelese has an agenda. Most of my work on Wikipedia is aon fairly uncontroverversial stuff (like type designers and foundries), so I've never had a problem like this before. R.M. Schultz (talk) 18:55, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Hi, some time ago you participated in the discussion about Czechia, short-form and geographical name of the Czech state. Two weeks ago, I wrote an article about history of the problem with comparison of statements and oppinions from both sides in the dispute, but the article ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Czechia_-_the_name_dispute ) was immediately deleted by some admins. Then, on repeated demands, it was reverted by some rational person and now the voting about deletion of the article (initialized by it erasers) is in process. If you want, help to keep the article, you can vote here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Czechia_-_the_name_dispute#Czechia_-_the_name_dispute Askave (talk) 14:36, 3 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Berthold Type Foundry[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Berthold (company) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Berthold Type Foundry. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. -- Trevj (talk) 11:30, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for January 22[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Frederic Warde, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bruce Rogers (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Emily Stimpson has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Sonderdruck requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Fritz Müller (typographer) moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Fritz Müller (typographer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 17:20, 31 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
