Re: 68.50.101.75

Yeah, a longer block is warranted. 14 days might be long enough to have the user get bored with vandalizing Wikipedia. Sancho 06:52, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

UFC 77

I only salted given that it had been continuously recreated with speculation. If enough confirmed information surfaces about the event that an article can be written about it, feel free to bug me and I'll unprotect the space. --Coredesat 20:45, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a little hesitant to unsalt it given those sources, since some of them aren't adequate per WP:RS; a couple of the mainstream media sources are passing mentions, and some of the "industry" sources are blogs or copies of the same post from rumor sites, which also aren't reliable sources. Can you find anything else? --Coredesat 18:32, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, done. --Coredesat 19:16, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Boxing

Hi, nice to have you back. These vandals start to drive me angry... ;-( Claudevsq 09:50, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of current world boxing champions

I changed Robert Guerreros record to 20-1-1-1. See at the bottom of the discussion page to see why. Greetings, Claudevsq 09:16, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

BOXING

Hey, do you know what will happen to Mosley's interim title when he will fight Cotto? Does he keep it when losing or will there simply be no more WBC interim welterweight champ after that match?

And, for the Pacquiao-Barrera bout, if they will still be the Ring's number one and number three, will that match be for the Ring's champion title, do you know that? Thanks alot, Claudevsq 08:06, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your msg

How do I complete it? I thought I did..? MMAfan2007 18:03, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

why do you see little chance? MMAfan2007 18:24, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
We already came to an agreement in the Kimbo article. Also less than 200 edits don't mean anything other than I am late to edit something because it was reverted or someone already answered the info. By the time I log on to add new stuff, it's already been added. All I can do now is just watch for vandals which is what I've been doing for a while. I also was templated for no reason too and whoever did it even admitted that it wasn't really vandalism.MMAfan2007 18:29, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help

There's this committed identity thing on your user page. Could you explain to me, how it works and how you get it? Thanks. RuneWiki777 18:45, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I read that thing already. Thats what I don't get. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Runewiki777 (talkcontribs)
Thanks for helping. I actually made that thing! RuneWiki777 20:21, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I got it covered. Don't worry. RuneWiki777 20:35, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MMA Statbox?

I've been trying to get feedback on adding fight teams/associations to the MMA statbox. I think that it is a neccessary addition to every fighter's profile so if you read my rationale in the discussion section it would be appreciated. I just want to know whether I should pursue this and if so, how. Unak78 16:45, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the recognition.

It's easy when you actually give a damn about the subject matter. It's nice to know that the work is appreciated. I do some of it when I'm sitting at my computer at work with nothing better to do. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unak78 (talkcontribs)

'offline'

Nice little function how does it work? Only have a rough grasp of wiki code myself but have had my user page moved recently it would be handy. --Nate1481( t/c) 15:10, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

had a play & stolen it hope that's ok. --Nate1481( t/c) 15:35, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, got the talk page bit but how the hell do you code mirror typing?!? --Nate1481(t/c) 15:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Will do but will be off line till Tuesday, have a good weekend. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nate1481 (talkcontribs)

Re: Thanks

No problem! --Yamla 21:53, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info.

I'll just take some time to learn more about how it works and to compile the information on the fighters who still haven't been edited and their teams and I'll get back to you if I need any help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unak78 (talkcontribs)

My bad dude. I forgot what to do for the "article issues" box and it's been a long day. But now I know haha. Thesaddestday 09:21, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted Edits

I just wanted to say that I've personally spoken to at least one fighter or someone else with knowledge of the bouts I added. I am going to revert the edits for now but am up for suggestions on changing them but I have personal knowledge of the bouts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.116.44.24 (talkcontribs)

That would class as original research, which is against our policies. Even if it is true, we cannot put something like this without valid citations from reliable sources. --Dreaded Walrus t c 23:03, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Although I did the research I cannot publish it in a similar way that CNN can only cite "sources who cannot be named". I added sources for all of the fights and have confirmed all of them. I am just trying to clarify the situation because a lot of the other fights listed on the card use similar sources with the only officially confirmed bout being between Rich Franklin and Anderson Silva. User:Kriskarkoski —The preceding — Preceding undated comment added 00:42, August 21, 2007
My opinion is that UFC Daily is a blog source that doesn't meet the policy on verifiability, unlike the other ones in the article, which are mostly newspapers and do (UFC 75 is also an excellent example of this). You can bring this up at WP:MMA's talk page, but it's been beaten to death there and I don't think you'll like the answers.  east.718 at 00:49, August 21, 2007
Thanks you for explaining it to me. I understand many blogs do not confirm the news and cannot be used but I do my best to confirm with multiple sources whenever possible. Quite frankly there are a lot of blogs out there that do a lot more research and confirming than some news outlets do. Just because something is is blog form doesn't mean it is verifiable. I really appreciate the explanation and hope I can format my posts so they can be referenced to help the entire MMA community. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kriskarkoski (talkcontribs)

Request for advice

I recently created an article about Chuck Liddell's fight team, The Pit, and now it's very existence is being challenged based on it's relevance. When I first made the article, I had posted no text outside of the statbox. However now that the article is complete apparently there are not enough people who are knowledgeable about MMA to verify it's valid connection to sports or the sport of MMA. The Wiki rules state that I can notify my project, but I don't know how to go about that, if i can contact them individually or on the project page. I have posted links that support the Pit's connection to Chuck Liddell from ESPN, CBS Sportsline, Sherdog, and Sports Illustrated and I hope that other editors will read them. I'm asking you for advice and if you could read the article here- [Pitfight Team]. Please Advise. Unak78 17:06, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of current world boxing champions

In the list of current world boxing champions, I changed the flag of Calzaghe. Although he lives in Wales, he was born in Hammersmith, England. Claudevsq 14:45, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drews

I know that's not his name, but like many other boxers from Eastern Europe, he calls himself Drews instead of Drviš simply because it sounds more "german". Like Arthur Abraham, that's not his birth name as well, but I really don't care too much... Drvis or Drews... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Claudevsq (talkcontribs) 09:25, August 30, 2007 (UTC)
