RE: Edit at 2011–12 Biathlon World Cup – World Cup 4

Hi there, I just want to clarify what did I do wrong in editing the 2011–12 Biathlon World Cup – World Cup 4? You seem to be very upset on your edit summary. As you know that any issue with regard to improving an article should be discussed in its talk page, or you can even drop me a message. Removing a fair and constructive edits without any valid reason is against the Wikipedia policy. Thus, I rollback the article to the last proper edit. I hope that you enjoy your stay at English Wikipedia. — Rammaumtalkstalk 21:00, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi! Could you please explain in what way this could be merged in to this article? And from the first template — OK, I can agree with the first one (about refs needed), and maybe the last one (but I don't know which words can I link because there aren't such articles about Mass Start and all other disciplines). But I don't see any reasons to put all other templates. --Edgars2007 (Talk/Contributions) 21:42, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

This "sprint" article: '2011–12 Biathlon World Cup – Sprint Men' was created on December 9, 2011; and this one '2011–12 Biathlon World Cup – World Cup 4' was created on December 16, 2011. The former was obviously created earlier that should be expanded with its content as a 'sprint article,' a synonymous to (dash & run), while the latter is meant to be an event of "World Cup 4" of which discusses "relay", synonymous to (race) & "sprint", again synonymous to (dash & run) - obviously the same context with the former. Therefore, it would have been better to merge these two as a single worth reading article. — Rammaumtalkstalk 04:53, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

You have misunderstood the organization of these articles. They are organized like this for many years. Take a look at this, this and this templates (and articles)... So I'll move off all your templates.
P.S. Sorry for my bad English (I'm not native speaker)--Edgars2007 (Talk/Contributions) 11:33, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Biathlon world cup

Thanks for all the great work on the articles, the volumn of details is intimidating. I 'wikified' the events on world cup 4 so that ANYONE who comes to that page can be directed to explanations of every event, so that they will understand what is meant by a biathlon 'relay' or 'sprint' or whatever. Curious why they did not follow the links instead using a dictionary or a thesaurus isn't it? Seeing you are from Riga made me smile, lost a dear friend from there recently, keep up the good work.18abruce (talk) 19:16, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi. When you recently edited Alīna Fjodorova, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Latvian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). The article Jazmín De Grazia has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not notable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Burpelson AFB 18:02, 6 February 2012 (UTC)

Hello. I just wanted to make sure you'd seen my edits to this, which you recently created as a disambiguation page, in case you wanted to challenge it. I removed the botanist as it didn't meet MOS:DABRL, MOS:DABMENTION or have an article. Even if it had one of these, it would probably be better to use a hatnote per WP:TWODABS. Aslo just to let you know, there should only be one blue link per line on a dab, preferably to an article on that person/topic. See WP:DDD for a really clear summary, or MOS:DAB for a more detailed explanation of the guidelines. If you object to the move, please comment at Talk:Hubert Leitgeb. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 19:17, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

No, it is OK. For the disambig page – I just copied from Leitgeb page (I just hadn't time to type myself :D ). --Edgars2007 (Talk/Contributions) 05:17, 15 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi Edgars. Back in November, you got either an AfD or PROD notification, and it was during one of the template testing project's experiments. If you could go here and leave us some feedback about what you think about the new versions of the templates we tested (there are links to the templates), that would be very useful. fixing dashes

Regarding fixing dashes (such as this edit), I'm wondering if we should exclude titles of sources from such fixes. For example, the title of this this reference includes the standard hyphen, so should we not quote this title verbatim rather than try to correct it (to a dash) on behalf of the source? --Jameboy (talk) 00:20, 4 March 2012 (UTC)

Similarly, your script needs to leave file links alone, or you end up with re linked images. Thanks. Aboutmovies (talk) 05:16, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Foreign language article

You tagged Štefan Polák for speedy deletion with the reason "Foreign language article". Please understand that this is not a valid criterion for speedy deletion. Only the narrowly interpreted criteria listed at WP:CSD are valid criteria. Articles that are in a foreign language that otherwise do not meet the criteria for deletion should instead be tagged for translation (using {{Not English}}). (In this case, the article also happens to be a copyright violation, so the tag has been changed.) WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 17:54, 9 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi Edgars, just a quick question. I noticed you created 2012 Sidecarcross World Championship as a redirect to Sidecarcross World Championship last November. Are you planning an article? I've created the ones for the previous seasons but I'm unlikely to find the time and motivation to do the 2012 one. Please do not make articles about a living person that are entirely negative in tone and unsourced. Wikipedia has a policy of verifiability and any negative information we use must be reliably sourced, and our articles must be balanced. Negative unreferenced biographies of living people are not tolerated by Wikipedia and are speedily deleted. Users who continue to create or repost such pages and images in violation of our biographies of living persons policy will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you.

Fricis Bārda references

Hi Edgars. Thanks for putting the tag re lack of references on the Fricis Bārda page. I have added some references - certainly not the best, but allowing some of the facts to be verified (especially for someone who can read Latvian...) Is it adequate to have the lack-of-refs tag removed? Or can you give advice for where I could get some better references for this - note that the text is mostly translated from the Latvian Vikipedia? A tag has been placed on Gabriel Vasconcellos Ferreira, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Hi. Found your "article" depending Camilla Pfeffer (and much more of this style). Do you really think, this is a respectful way to write aboute a human being? Camilla Pfeffer is a German gymnast. She will compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics. This is the whole article! No date of birth, no place of birth, not anything of her carreer. And please don't tell me there's nothing to find. Some days earlier than you I wrote the german Wikipedia article. There at last you can find the vita dates, so you don't need to understand one word german (even your userpage says, your german is pretty good!). And there are Weblinks with results and so on. But this would causing work - nad it seems you only interest ist to start smalest articles without any sense for a usability for readers. Don't you think it would be much more helpfull, to write only one article instead ten - but then a really article, with some informations? Don't you thing this would help these project much more? The bad thing is - not long time ago I found such "articles" about sport persons "who will be participate at the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Torino". Nearly all of your "articles" will be stay in this shape. They will be there, other authors will be not interested in them (because tehy will tinhk, there is already an article) and the reader will get nothing. It's simply sad!
