checkuserblock-account
Hi, you recently blocked Special:Contributions/HammerKinFan per "checkuserblock-account". Could you confirm that it was a AndresHerutJaim sockpuppet so that I can tag/categorize the account (which helps with identification of other socks) ? Would you also be able to have a look at Special:Contributions/Jurrikarsen. Article overlaps with previous socks and repetition of edits such as this, repeating this and this sock edit suggests it's AndresHerutJaim. Thanks. Sean.hoyland - talk 16:46, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
- Confirmed as AHJ and blocked. Elockid (Talk) 03:25, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. AndresHerutJaim appears to be racist extremist judging from a search in google. They were blocked in Spanish Wikipedia back in 2010 and unfortunately they have already said they are not going to stop socking in English Wikipedia. If you have any ideas about how to provide better protection from people like this please let me know because I see their IP and registered socks almost everyday in the ARBPIA topic area. Sean.hoyland - talk 07:33, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
- ...like Special:Contributions/SILtmediaup for example.
- IMO, the best protection right now is to protect the pages with PC2 protection and semi-protection, but PC2 use is still in limbo. I did make a filter to stop autoconfirming sockers but that's only a short term solution. Although rangeblocks slow them down considerably especially when I blocked their main ranges, he appears to get friends to help him out. Elockid (Talk) 13:01, 22 July 2013 (UTC)
- Silmeter looks like it might be AndresHerutJaim's latest sockpuppet. AndresHerutJaim is certainly active now e.g. Special:Contributions/190.232.74.112 an IP sock. Silmeter is already showing overlaps with previous socks[1][2][3][4]. Their user page is a bit suspect (and they didn't respond to a question about it), this edit is indicative of AndresHerutJaim and the edit warring here is a bit odd. I don't know whether he is edit warring with himself there (I've seen that before). Sean.hoyland - talk 17:10, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- Silmeter is Confirmed. The IP isn't from his established location though. Elockid (Talk) 17:17, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. Different location, true, but I've seen these Telefonica del Peru IPs re-implement his sock edits many times e.g. here where 190.232.74.241 re-implements sock Elirhann Oraz89's edit, or here where it's 190.232.207.217 or here where it's 190.234.164.168. He seems to have access to the network or perhaps it's a meatpuppet. Sean.hoyland - talk 17:47, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- Was thinking the same thing. It's probably another "friend" that I mentioned earlier. Elockid (Talk) 02:21, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- Gene Hubbsar might be his latest - typical first edit, focus on proxy war with Iran, edited Iran–Israel relations as did recent sock Jurrikarsen (edit was shortly after 2.138.224.112, a Telefonica de Espana sock/meatpuppet/"friend"...the behavior of these Telefonica de Espana IPs is similar to the Telefonica del Peru IPs), already edit warring at Neturei Karta and linking to an essay. Frentsin looks like their latest registered sock (editing 2006 Lebanon War for example like many of their previous socks) and Argentina based 200.89.185.220 looks like their latest IP sock. Sean.hoyland - talk 04:01, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Could you take a look at L'Yfabrusewela when you get a chance please ? There are edit summary similarities with previous socks and they are making inferences based on a comparison of the same 2 articles that a previous sock has cited. The chance of another editor also picking these 2 completely unrelated articles (Battle of Jenin and Gilad Atzmon) strikes me as near-zero. Sean.hoyland - talk 15:37, 17 August 2013 (UTC)

Here is support for your "friend" theory for interest. Two edits ([5] and [6]) by Israel based IP 109.64.160.175, which include the instructions, presumably sent by AndresHerutJaim in Spanish. Both articles have been targeted by AndresHerutJaim socks before. I left a warning for the IP. Not sure whether that is enough. Sean.hoyland - talk 18:07, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- We could start looking into semi-protections if this keeps up. This could be just as effective. Elockid (Talk) 21:44, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not really a fan of semi-protection for various reasons but I've requested it for some of the recently targeted articles to help deal with the IPs e.g. History of Israel...although the Crandmeipait sock still managed to edit the article soon after protection had been imposed despite having only been created the same day. I'm not sure why that would be the case. Semi-protection in ARBPIA would probably be more effective if it took something like 500 edits and 3 months to get autoconfirmed. What tripped that filter, the repeated sandbox edits ? Sean.hoyland - talk 17:36, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

In a different, yet related manner
Hello Elockid! I was looking over the DRN and had noticed that you had CU-blocked PISCOSOUR786, a user listed as involved in a dispute that I ws going to pick up. Another user in this same dispute has been blocked for socking (since expired), and I wanted to know, without necessarily disclosing protected information, if PISCO was another sock, as you left no note on the user page about them being blocked. If I did not have a script enabled on my account, I would not have known about the block. The sockmaster in the dispute is Ali Aff. Thanks! Hamtechperson 17:38, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Username in color
Hello Elockid,
How do I make my username in some other color for example in red or yellow from black? You have in blue for now but I'd like to know how do I do that? GEORGIANJORJADZE 13:16, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Use the following text: <font color="Insert web colors here">"Desired text here"</font>. More information for colors can be found at Web colors. For the web color, use a hex triplet (Ex: #000000). Elockid (Talk) 13:29, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- No no no. I want as you have for example written Elockid in blue with bold letters on your page profile. I want it to be short and with bold lettering as well and how do I do that? I've pasted those code but it didn't work. GEORGIANJORJADZE 13:31, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Try this: {{DISPLAYTITLE:<font color="#FF0000"><font size:0px">User:</font>GeorgianJorjadze</font>}}. The color is an example. Elockid (Talk) 13:37, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- It's red now. And how do I remove the word user? I want it to be just Jorjadze or GJ. GEORGIANJORJADZE 13:44, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- You can try {{DISPLAYTITLE:<font color="#FF0000"><span style="font-size:0px">User:</span>GeorgianJorjadze</font>}}. I'll have to get back to you on customizing to Jorjadze of GJ. Elockid (Talk) 13:50, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

move Hungarian people to Hungarians
Can you move it to Hungarians? Seems I cannot do so. GEORGIANJORJADZE 16:04, 4 September 2013 (UTC)

- What's the point? This is the standard form for an ethnic groups. GEORGIANJORJADZE 16:26, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Not really. There is no one standard. This can be seen with many ethnic groups such as Punjabi people, Arab people, Japanese people or British people. Elockid (Talk) 18:23, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- That's different because those ethnicities end up on different letters. Same can be said about Portuguese or French people where "s" cannot be added. But in case of Hungarians that is standard. GEORGIANJORJADZE 19:09, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Still not really. There's Moroccan people, Persian people, Catalan people or Lithuanian people. If you're willing to consider multi-ethnic nations, there's Brazilian people and Mexican people. Elockid (Talk) 20:23, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Brazilians and Mexicans are not the ethnicities they are the citizens of those countries where Hungarians are an ancient nation. Hungarian people should be moved to Hungarians. I would say the same about Persians. What do you suggest? I think there won't be anyone against such move. GEORGIANJORJADZE 16:48, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

L'Origine du monde has another registered account?
Going by L'Origine du monde's signatures in his edit summaries, even when he used this, this and this IP, is there any doubt that he is also this editor (DavidMCEddy)? I don't know about you, but I think that L'Origine du monde is the only editor I've seen consistently sign his edit summaries with four tildes. L'Origine du monde has posted at the Penis article's talk page, as seen here, here and here, for examples. And so has DavidMCEddy (today). Seems to be a suspicious coincidence...if this is just a coincidence. Flyer22 (talk) 21:29, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
- Actually, signing with 4 tildes in edit summaries is not really rare. I see one person do it probably every two weeks or so, mostly from new editors getting used to the signing thing. I don't have a doubt that the IPs were used by L'Origine du monde and they probably just registered after editing anonymously for some time. I see one big difference with L'Origine du monde and DavidMCEddy in their edit summaries is that DavidMCEddy uses the 4 tildes in almost every single edit summary while L'Origine du monde/the IPs do use the 4 tildes in a much lower frequency. I'd say probably just coincidence. Elockid (Talk) 23:21, 8 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback, Elockid. Perhaps signing edit summaries with four tildes is not as rare as one would think (I've also seen at least one or two other editors do that), but I'd still categorize it as rare. And it's even rarer that an editor who has been editing Wikipedia for as long as L'Origine du monde would still consistently sign the edit summaries with four tildes. I also noticed the difference between L'Origine du monde and DavidMCEddy that you mention, but I've seen L'Origine du monde sign that way often...much more than I've seen him not sign that way. I also think that L'Origine du monde is aware that signing that way is a dead giveaway to who he is, and so he sometimes tries not to sign that way. But it's one of his habits. That, combined with his attention to phallus topics, and to then see the same type of signature from DavidMCEddy at the Penis talk page, was enough to make me suspicious of DavidMCEddy. I'm slightly less suspicious of the matter now, though, considering your feedback. Thanks again. Flyer22 (talk) 23:47, 8 September 2013 (UTC)

delated page
Hello, you delated my page about Czech architect Svatopluk Sládeček because of "No explanation of significance ". But he is one of the most importnat Czcech architects what is clear from the long list of architectural awards, projects and exhibitions. Can you re-examine you decision? Thanks Petra — Preceding unsigned comment added by Petrahl (talk • contribs)
- The awards need to be notable. They don't appear to be notable here. If the awards were notable, they would usually have a page on them. For example, the Archiweb prize. If I search "Archiweb" on both the Czech and English encyclopedias, I don't get any results. The projects and exhibitions itself should be notable, like he designed a notable building. I don't see any notable projects either. Number of exhibitions don't show notability either. Many people have numerous exhibitions based on their work, but that doesn't necessarily make them notable. Hello Elockid,
On the newly created pages I see "Mark this page as patrolled" down there of the article and what should I do? Should I click it? GEORGIANJORJADZE 18:32, 17 September 2013 (UTC)
- I would only click it on pages that I haven't created or pages that don't look like encyclopedia material. Elockid (Talk) 18:02, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- Elockid, can you please see these two articles? In Colchis and Caucasian Iberia there are all sources given but it is vandalised and removed without even the discussion and can you please see it? They are removing the sourced information without notice. GEORGIANJORJADZE 20:27, 18 September 2013 (UTC)

GEORGIANJORJADZE 21:14, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Hi; I'm the editor who has made the changes that GJ objects to (mostly reverting to a version by another editor last month, plus rewriting the leads, that were very messy). The sources I took off were an accumulation of footnotes in the first sentences of the articles, used mostly to support the mention of the Georgian character of the states in the very first words of the article. Not only does this make the lead cluttered and unencyclopedic but most of those sources are not in any way authored by specialists of the subject at hand, they mostly come from disparate works that mention ancient Georgia marginally. Consequently, I defend my edits as necessary cleanup, and would like GJ to at least acknowledge that he needs to collaborate more in his editing behaviour, and to discuss instead of revert and accuse. In any case, I am ready to pursue any dispute resolution venue that could help us out of this situation, as editing with GJ can often be very frustrating. Susuman77 (talk) 21:52, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
- What resolution do you think we can get when you destroy the Georgian history. Fact is Colchis and Iberia were always Georgian states, ethnically and linguistically and you're not even mentioning them or you mention it just with one sentence. How would I react to that? GEORGIANJORJADZE 22:02, 18 September 2013 (UTC)
Taking a look at the lead for example, the amount of sourcing there in my opinion was getting a tad bit excessive. While this may be great to further support possibly controversial statements, I think a good amount of sources to support a statement should be at maximum around five. One or two reliable sources IMO is good enough. Otherwise, we're getting to get those long spaces of just sources in the article. This could negatively affect the readability of the article. Elockid (Talk) 22:19, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. By the way I wanted to ask, is it possible for you as an admin to make my username just Jorjadze without Georgian in the lead? I'm just interested. :) GEORGIANJORJADZE 22:27, 23 September 2013 (UTC)

Elockid, I'm hoping to close User:Sthubbar's unblock request / IP block exemption request one way or the other. The user claims proxy editing is required to edit from China, which sometimes allow for this flag when editing from proxies (as per WP:PROXY#Rationale. I'm just concerned about granting it in this case to allow for proxy editing with this user's recent block history. As a more experienced administrator who has also been dealing with this request, I'm wondering if you don't mind finalizing this request (either by granting the request or denying it)? Thanks. Singularity42 (talk) 16:13, 20 September 2013 (UTC)
- I don't want to step on your toes so I'll just say what's on my mind. I was unable to verify that Sthubbar was editing from a place with government restrictions/firewalls. All of the users so far who I have granted IPBE due to government restrictions were indeed found to be editing from places with government restrictions/firewalls. As IPBE is considered an admin right, I want to be absolutely sure before handing out such a right. For me anyways, I need the hard proof/evidence. I would have declined the request until further evidence can be presented. But some may perceive it as not AGFing so as a result, I haven't granted or denied their request. Hello. I noticed that you just blocked two new accounts that vandalised Water cycle. I just noticed that there's a third new account (Dwlover101 (talk · contribs)) that is also vandalising that article, and might have a connection to the other two. The same school project, perhaps. Hello Elockid,
I have a new username which is Jorjadze but the thing is my username was changed only on English wikipedia and in other wikipedias I have the old GeorgianJorjadze. Shouldn't they also be changed from GJ to J? Jorjadze (talk) 16:13, 29 September 2013 (UTC)

- You would need to talk to the Bureaucrat on that wiki to ask to have a name change. If you don't have many edits on those Wikis where you can't speak the language, then I wouldn't worry about it. Elockid(Boo!) 17:06, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

- See meta:Bureaucrat. To find a bureaucrat, type "Special:ListUsers" in the search box. After that on the box at the right, there's a list of rights listed. Scroll to one that says Bureaucrat (the name will change according to how Bureaucrat is said in a different language). This will give you a list of users who are Bureaucrats. - Hi there and welcome to Wikipedia! I have a few concerns about what you're saying. Please note that Wikipedia is not a venue to advertise. We generally don't accept self-promotions or promotions of people we know. You can find more information at WP:NOTADVERTISING. I think you may also have a conflict of interest. Even though he may be your friend, there could be bias in the article. When writing an article, you should always write with a neutral point of view. When writing about someone you know, generally there are tendencies to have bias in the article. I can undelete the article and put it in your sandbox. Here you can work on it. Again please be aware that Wikipedia is not a venue for advertising or promotion and the sandbox may be deleted if another person still sees it as promotion. Elockid(Boo!) 21:28, 7 October 2013 (UTC)

Look familiar?
Do you recognize Leopatra and Blolay?
From their editing history it is clear that they are not new editors, and they recently subtly trolled the Hinduism article in concert (eg, see cited sources here). Revealing edit sequence: Leopatra added some information to the page, and then removed it two edits later, with edit summary "reverted some edits by blolay...", which makes me suspect that they are socks of the same user. I haven't reviewed their complete editing history, but do have other articles in common such as Yoga.

Hey. We have a problem with Critism12345 (talk · contribs). New proposition
Currently, articles of:
- Larger Urban Zone has one source - Eurostat, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO
- List of urban areas by population and Largest urban areas of the European Union has one source - Demographia, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO
- List of metropolitan areas in Europe has few sources, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO
- List of urban agglomerations by population has one source - United Nations, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO
I have a suggestion. Sometimes, different users (mostly new users) try to change the articles, add false/incorrect data or correct data with other sources - without discussions and consensuses. My proposition: block these articles, if a user wants to make a change - first discussion. Subtropical-man (talk) 21:06, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
- I hear what you're saying and I completely agree with you. It's not only bad/poor sourcing but it's just straight up vandalism sometimes. And it's not just those pages, it's basically any pages that have similarities to those pages. I wish I could do something, but I think people would object to blocking of these articles without sustained disruption. Elockid(Boo!) 14:22, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Hello Subtropical-man
This is Critism12345 speaking. I have not listed any incorrect information on any articles. In fact all can be found on list of metropolitan areas in Europe under the heading of OECD, a very reliable up to date source. Ihave noticed that you have successfully deleted my new article of the largest metropolitan areas of the European Union, which took me two hours to create. This data was reliable and from a recent cencus. All information had references, so I do not see why you deleted my information. I would appreciate it if you approved of my article and could enable it to public viewing, as it is better information and more up to date. Please reply as soon as possible because I have been discouraged to edit and improve Wikipedia because of you deleting my edits. Hope for a reply soon Critism12345
- Article of List of Metropolitan Areas by Population in the European Union and his page of
Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/List_of_Metropolitan_Areas_by_Population_in_the_European_Union has been removed because it is wrong (also wrong name of article) and unnecessary. For years, there is an article List of metropolitan areas in Europe, in this article exist data about European Union (green colour) and among sources there is also data by OECD. You can not change the article, currently, articles of: "Larger Urban Zone" has one source - Eurostat, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO, "List of urban areas by population" and "Largest urban areas of the European Union" has one source - Demographia, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO, "List of metropolitan areas in Europe" has few sources, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO, "List of urban agglomerations by population" has one source - United Nations, according to Wikipedia:Consensus or/and Wikipedia:STATUSQUO. To add another sources must be discussion and consensus, see Wikipedia:Consensus. Subtropical-man (talk) 21:55, 28 October 2013 (UTC)
Why Manila is the world's first Global City
According to the book entitled, The Prize of All the Oceans. by Williams, Glyn published by Viking, New York. ISBN 0-670-89197-5, p. 4. Manila is the worlds' first global city because the Manila Galleons marked the first time trade truly became global, wherein goods from the Western Hemisphere (The old world and the Americas) where traded for goods from the Eastern hemisphere (Asia), as what exactly happened during the Manila Galleons. I cannot allow people to denigrate and remove this from a the City who hold's this title originally. It is the city of our affections, the city which almost all great empires tried to fight over and then you come waltzing in and say oh! And remove it a say oh it's not even a global city at all? Lol it's the original global city. Thank You.
Gintong Liwanag Ng Araw (talk) 12:12, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
Why are you warning me without even considering replying to my informed posts? If you can refute my informed and educated defense over why Manila is the first global city you can warn me. But you haven't even replied to my defense and then boom! You warn me. Is that fair? All the other reverters, I have also explained this issue in their talk page yet they haven't refuted me at all. So why warn me over this?
Is this fair? If you ban me without even replying to my posts in your talk-page. (And reverting my edits even after the fact that I talked in your talkpage) You are guilty of subverting due process, and it is an OFFENSE.
Please, consider that and God Bless You.

If you don't refute the fact that Manila is the world's first global city (Due to evidence of this: The Prize of All the Oceans. by Williams, Glyn published by Viking, New York. ISBN 0-670-89197-5, p. 4. stating: "Manila is the worlds' first global city because the Manila Galleons marked the first time trade truly became global, wherein goods from the Western Hemisphere (The old world and the Americas) were traded for goods from the Eastern hemisphere (Asia), as what exactly happened during the Manila Galleons. "
By tomorrow, (If all the people which I put my replies in their talk-page to won't reply) I will re-insert this truth despite opposition from you good but misinformed people. But if they reply then this will be drawn out until a deal is reached. ^_^
Gintong Liwanag Ng Araw (talk) 03:26, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
- This is complete POV pushing. I recommend you read what a global city is. Cities have been trading globally even before the Manila galleons were established. Reinserting your edits will land you straight to WP:ANEW or to WP:ANI. They have been marked as either disruptive or violation of NPOV by multiple people. You also need to ping in Howard the Duck who has reverted your additions regarding the City of Man and LogX who also reverted your addition of the global city info and as well as other edits. Once I figured out how you made the navbar I was going to do one up for christmas but you already have a great one done - so if it's ok with you I'll steal that once Halloween is over - I will still work on finding images so I can do up ones that are not holiday related but it looks like you are the one to see about holiday themes..if that is ok with you...-- 🍺 Antiqueight confer 23:44, 30 October 2013 (UTC)

You Blocked The Local Host!
The IP 127.0.0.1 is the Wikipedia local host and as stated on User:127.0.0.1, it should never be blocked! I know it's been making vandal edits but I just thought you should be aware of this in case you didn't realise. Oddbodz (talk) 23:37, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
- Even unblocked, it's already preventing multiple editors from editing. One user has already been blocked twice today because of that. It's being blocked regardless. Given the two options, block all users due to the autoblock or block to prevent the autoblock so at least logged in editors can edit, I'd take the latter. Elockid(Boo!) 00:35, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
- Any example usernames that have been affected by this? m.o.p 01:09, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
- See User talk:JG66. I believe there were two/three others (both logged in/out), but I don't remember the names though. Elockid(Boo!) 01:12, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
- Should be OK now - Roan and co. seem to have put out a fix. m.o.p 01:41, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

127.0.0.1
Per [10], I unblocked - last I heard, we were still having issues where proxy editors would get disabled if we blocked the loopback.
Unless something's changed recently and we can block it now. Can we? m.o.p 23:40, 31 October 2013 (UTC)
- See above, the IP address is getting blocked regardless of unblocking it. Elockid(Boo!) 00:36, 1 November 2013 (UTC)
- See this - we're working on fixing the bug. Just best not to block it locally. m.o.p 00:42, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

A known sockpuppeter is back
I want advice you that an editor who has been blocked for evading a block is back now with a registered account, the user name is JJJNosay, here are his contributions: [11] and here are the contributions of the IP you blocked 4 days ago: [12] note how the edit summaries and what he/she edits is identical [13], [14], he/she also tends to link articles that are personal sites or that don't say what he/she says that these say.
Finally, i think i found other two IPs from the same user: [15] and [16]. Edits the same things, similar edit summaries. Almasur (talk) 01:20, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- The quacking is loud, so I've blocked the account. Those 166.147 IPs are allocated to mobile ranges and they are highly dynamic and very busy. So there's no long-term solution for those IPs, I'm afraid. Elockid (Talk) 02:43, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- That could be a problem, i'll advice you if i notice him/her again. Almasur (talk) 03:14, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
NoahS24fgtp
Your block of this one seems to be coming up in a lot of autoblocks of regular editors. I must get to understand autoblocks. Peridon (talk) 17:43, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- I'm one of the users who got autoblocked because of NoahS24fgtp, and I can assure you that I have nothing what so ever to do with the spambot. I fully understand that spambots need to be blocked, and that collateral damage can't always be avoided, so I harbor no ill feelings, but I would like to request an IP address block exemption in order to not get caught in an autoblock again. Thomas.W talk to me 17:58, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- It seems to be part of a problem involving some new servers, or something like that. Have a look at WP:VPT in the 'Wikimedia Foundation IP addresses causing autoblocks' thread. They say it's fixed now. They say... Peridon (talk) 18:25, 6 November 2013 (UTC)

Just saying Hi
Hello Elockid, just wanted to say hi. How are you?
I've just changed my username to Jaqeli so wanted to let you know. GJ. Jaqeli (talk) 22:35, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- I'm doing fine. Thank you. Also, thanks for the heads up. I probably would have gotten confused who you were. Elockid (Talk) 22:40, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- That's great. You're welcome Elockid. GJ. Jaqeli (talk) 23:46, 6 November 2013 (UTC)
- Elockid, I found one username I would like to have. It was used in 2007 and has just only 2 edits and no one uses it now and can I get it somehow to change Jaqeli to that one? How do you think is it possible? Jaqeli (talk) 05:27, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- I suppose you could go to WP:USURP. If someone else owns the SUL account, you could run into some problems. Also, considering that you've already made two username changes in a relatively short period of time, I'm not sure if Bureaucrats will be so willing to change your username again. Repeated vandalism from an IP that leads to a mail server
Hello. I'm not familiar with Wikipedia's rules regarding using "non standard" IPs for editing, but when making a reverse DNS check on 71.16.169.34 (talk · contribs · WHOIS), an IP with a very long history of vandalism, to see if it was a school IP I found that it is a mail server (mail and Outlook) belonging to "PACE Center for Girls" in Jacksonville, Florida. Which seems a bit odd to me since people usually don't edit Wikipedia from the company mail server. So I thought you might want to take a look at in case it's against the rules here. Thomas.W talk to me 16:08, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- Blocked by Materialscientist. I'm willing to bet that the IP is more likely an organization IP rather than a mail server. Elockid (Talk) 21:36, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- The check I made showed that they have multiple servers, including a separate web server, so it's not an organization with a single server. Thomas.W talk to me 11:01, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
- Couldn't they route all traffic to a single IP though? Elockid (Talk) 22:17, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
- They could, yes, because the IP could lead to a router that forwards different protocols to different servers behind the router/firewall (according to a DNS check the web server is at a web-hosting place in Brea, CA, BTW, so they don't handle that themselves). IMHO it's not a smart way of doing it, though, because I would keep the students/inmates (according to the web site PACE Center is some kind of rehabilitation center for juvenile delinquents) as far away from the company/staff network as I could. Anyway, thanks to Materialscientist we won't have any problems with that IP for the next six months. Thomas.W talk to me 22:55, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
- (Additional comment: Only a very incompetent system/network administrator would let the company/staff mailserver share external IP with a network of student computers since student activities could get the IP blacklisted as a spam IP, preventing company/staff email from reaching their intended destinations. And a limited budget is no excuse, because even systems with a single router to the Internet can easily handle multiple external IPs, one for the mail server and one or more for the rest of the local network.) Evidently we conspired to get this editor banned. Is there any reason to think the IPs are not socks? Dougweller (talk) 10:10, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
- Those are definitely him logged out. But I don't think everyone will agree that he's socking (he's making it painfully obvious it's him rather than other people who deliberately try to seem like there's different people editing). Elockid (Talk) 20:44, 10 November 2013 (UTC)

Hi Elockid, could you pop onto UTRS (it's migrated to Labs, new URL is http://utrs.wmflabs.org/) and have a look at UTRS ticket 9200? It's a block you did, but the situation isn't clear from just viewing block log, etc and we could use some insight about what was going on. You can leave comments on the ticket there to clarify. Softened a block
Gday. Via stewards we have had someone caught by a global block on 23.88.0.0/16, and I softened that block, though found that you had an enWP block in place too. I umm'd and ahh'd and have softened the local block with my local admin right and a little bravado, commented why and mentioned the ticket. As you have local CU rights, always feel free to retighten that block as you know the local conditions better than I. Anyway, I hope that all suits. I will give the person direction on how to also apply for local IPBE so we can cover that baby off anyway. Regards, — billinghurst sDrewth 13:59, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

Bagrationi edit warring again
Please review and monitor recent contributions to the articles and talk pages of the various articles on members of the Bagrationi dynasty. There appears to be a renewal of the pattern of violations which led to reduction from an indefinite block to a 6 month block on 27 January 2013, and now a pattern of violation of the commitments made on this talk page here, commitments which appear to have contributed to your lifting the indefinite block. In light of these patterns, please take whatever action you deem appropriate to protect Wikipedia from further disruption. Thanks. FactStraight (talk) 02:17, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

- I warned both Jaqeli and FactStraight last night (see User talk:Richwales#User:FactStraight and User talk:FactStraight#Content disputes at Giorgi Bagrationi (born 2011) and related articles) that edit-warring is not acceptable as a way of handling a content dispute, even if an editor is convinced he is right and others are wrong. They may not like what I said and may be upset at me for not upholding the obviously correct side in this dispute, but that's not what admins are supposed to do. I've had a lot of contact over time with Jaqeli (formerly GeorgianJorjadze), but none with FactStraight until now. I've also done some editing and content discussion in the past in various articles pertaining to Georgia, so I am probably too "involved" by now to take any admin action here.
