File source problem with File:Konkan_locator_map.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Konkan_locator_map.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. re: North Kanara/Uttara Kannada[edit]

February 2012[edit]

Your edits to Kumta have been reverted, as there were at least two problems with them. Much of your editing was unambiguously promotional in character, which is contrary to Wikipedia's policy. More importantly, though, substantial parts of your contributions were copied from elsewhere, apparently infringing copyright. Please do not copy material from other sources into Wikipedia without making sure that the material does not infringe copyright. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:18, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Image problems[edit]

Please stop uploading images for which you fail to add the appropriate needed details, or whose details you don't have. We take copyright status and sourcing very seriously and the images you uploaded don't have this information, so have been nominated for deletion. If you did not take the photos yourself and they are copyright to someone else, or you found them on a website, please don't upload them unless you have permission of the copyright holder. We also need to know the source website or publication so we can check any copyright tag you add to an image. You may find it useful to read my image copyright information page. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 08:42, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Emancipitation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. He to Hecuba (talk) 10:28, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:North Kanara requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it must be substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{substituted}}</noinclude>).

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by visiting the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding or significantly changing content without citing a reliable source, as you did with this edit to Uttara Kannada, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Jim1138 (talk) 09:38, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus, as you did to Uttara Kannada. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains under way. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. You have been asked repeatedly (both in the edit summaries of edits you've reverted and on your talk page) to stop changing the article's name/moving it without discussing it first. The consensus is that Uttara Kannada is the correct, legal and official name and should be preserved as the article name. If you have an objection, take it to either the article's talk page or the discussion on WikiProject India ScottSteiner 10:20, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize pages by deliberately introducing incorrect information, as you did at Uttara Kannada, you may be blocked from editing. Please stop changing the name of the district, against consensus, without discussing it first. Uttara Kannada is the correct, legal, official name per the district's official website. ScottSteiner 12:42, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. The next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Kumta, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. ScottSteiner 21:42, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for persistent disruptive editing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
