Standalone article for Auburndale, Queens

I have census data for Auburndale, Queens, which was turned into a redirect in this edit. Would you support recreating the article as a standalone with the addition of demographic data? What should be done with NYC Department of Planning data from the census where multiple neighborhoods are combined? Any thoughts?

@Alansohn: Sure, let's split the article about Auburndale. I think it has enough info to be a standalone article. @Kew Gardens 613: Okay. But you need a few more sources for the article to be passed. For example, the "Route" and "Service" sections are largely unsourced, so a Good Article reviewer would decline based solely on this. N trains to 96th Street

Hi epicgenius. I know for a fact that those Ns will go to 96th as I spoke to someone who works for operations planning. I thought that I would leave it unsourced until it is confirmed, but could I hide the text for now? Thanks.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 19:22, 7 August 2016 (UTC)

capped Lines?

On 63rd Street Lines you undid my downcasing of lines, arguing that it is somehow part of a proper name? I realize that IND 63rd Street Line and BMT 63rd Street Line are treated as proper names for consistency with outer NY subway lines, but this is not that case, but rather the generic lines on 63rd Street. Sources cap it about half the time, suggesting that caps are not necessary; WP's MOS:CAPS says we avoid caps where they are unnecessary. So let's downcase this, yes? @Dicklyon: I think we should hold a requested move discussion on the talk page, to ask for more consensus. It is still the two individual lines, "IND 63rd Street Line" and "BMT 63rd Street Line," thus the 63rd Street "Lines." Miami area riderships

I remain confused as to the annual riderships of Florida Transit systems. It would be ridiculous to go by fiscal year, as they do, and it would be disingenuous in the case of Miami Metrorail, where it only gives one year per average figure, suggesting calendar year. However, going by Miami Dade ridership technical reports, the number for 2014 was quickly found to be wrong by a thousand or so. I got 73,550 by adding up the CY 2014 monthly weekday ridership reports (http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/ridership-technical-reports.asp) and dividing by 12, yet the chart gives 74,600 is there any better way? I haven't manually checked any others but this is annoying and unacceptable, I don't think I got an answer from a previous editor who the history showed added some of the ridership stats. @B137: Hmm, this is complicated. It seems that the fiscal year 2015 is actually October 2015 through September 2016. So instead, to get actual year 2015's ridership, you should just start from the FY2015 figure, subtract the October through December 2014 figures, and add October through December 2015 figures to get the AY2015 figure.
Now, it seems like the ridership is released a month or so after these riders actually patronize the system (e.g. June 2016 was released either this month or last month), so you probably would need to wait until February of the following year to get this year's total yearly ridership. However, by adding all the weekday riderships and dividing by 12, I don't think you'll get an accurate figure because this does not account for events with higher ridership, or even for weekdays with riderships higher or lower than normal. epicgenius (talk) 13:27, 9 August 2016 (UTC)
I should do that for all the years where the online reports are available, and go by calendar year of course, redoing the garbage that's there. For average ridership, adding up monthly weekday and dividing by 12 is exactly appropriate for this chart. The exceptions such as heat parades and opening say are listed elsewhere. If you want to speed up the process I believe you can tag the file for deletion per WP:G7. Otherwise, it will eventually be deleted per WP:F5 (if no one adds it to an article) or WP:F7 (if no one is able to show that it satisfies WP:NFCC#1). -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:10, 17 August 2016 (UTC)

Employee Timetable B Division as a source

Station renaming

Your recent edits to station names don't seem to agree with WP:USSTATION. An operator name should only be used for disambiguation, when multiple stations in the same geographic area (like a within a city) have the same name. Otherwise, using an operator name as a dismabiguator in the article title is strongly discouraged. Remember, the article name and all links will have to be changed again if the operator name changes or if another operator starts using the station, both of which happen pretty often. When a station disambiguator is needed, it should be a geographic place name in nearly every case. Lexlex (talk) 13:43, 20 August 2016 (UTC)

pageswap script for convenience

Hi Epicgenius! I've noticed that at some point, you performed a round-robin page move. I have several times before I thought the current move form was tedious. Anyway, I've written a script here (js) that semi-automates page swaps for convenience, and thought you may want to try it out. You'd simply click "Swap" and enter a page destination, the script performs the 3 moves as necessary (saves time having to manually go through the move form 3 times). (It doesn't correct redirects afterwards, that's still manual)

Chinese presence in New York City project

Hi, Epicgenius. If or when you get some time, would you be willing to start a "Chinese presence in New York City" (or simply "Chinese in New York City") project? I think this would be a good way to unite all of the New York Chinatowns and Chinese population-related articles under one quasi-official umbrella, and I think you'd be the perfect person for this. I think that these articles are already pretty well structured and connected, so I don't believe that it would require that much additional work. Please give it some consideration.
